Amazing movie. Not sure about that guys comment about the song... I read it as "HOW DARE YOU MAKE THE SONG OPEN FOR INTERPRETATION AND APPLY IT TO AN AMAZING MOVIE." I love imagining scenes to my favorite movies to related songs though. Or twisting song meanings to make it more relative to my own life. Thought that was supposed to be the beauty of music?

heartbeats was voted oneof the top 100 songs of the naughties by NME. the video they use on the website is this one mixed with mysterious skin. i thought they gelled well together because ive never seen the film but i instantly wanted to after watching this video. the song is so atmospheric, really excellent. im going to watch the film now!!

Seriously doubt that Karin & Olaf had these images in mind when they created "Heartbeats". IMHO it sucks. If you want a film about homosexual sadism, start from the top. Don't use music by groups like the Knife. Make your own. This is like a MIx in music. You're saying, here! I can make it better than the original artist. All you have done is put mud on the music.

I Think you're getting the wrong message or missing the point here. It's not supposed to one up or compete with the artist at all, It's purely a mix of images and sound. Also Mysterious Skin is not a film about homosexual sadism, where you are drawing that from I have no idea. Do you think Beethoven intended for his work to be used in "A Clockwork Orange"? Probably not, but does it "throw mud on the music"? No, its juxtaposition.

@drthombotrongpha I actually think they would be delighted that it was so masterfully edited . . . you most likely know that they use alot of dark / sublime imagery in their videos ( they used david lynch qualities in their ' pass this on ' video )
