this is a decent performance...i watched it live...and i was rather disappointed...she just sang it and didnt really interpret it...it's musical theater...c'mon...she didnt hit home run...however her diamonds are forever was awesome...the best performance of the night!
Well yeah, some soul singers grunt their way through a song, losing the sweetness & pureness of the voice. But hey, that's the way they want to interpret the song. Even Regine grunts when she sings this song, but only to a minimal.
Any singer can grunt if they wanted to. You are probably not a singer, hahaha. Even opera singers can do a note grunting. But it is the soul singers who do it a lot. You are such a novice. You should really keep your opinion to yourself :-)

Jenifer Holiday on this song, grunted her way through the song, or maybe 90% of the song. And gosh revel, I could point out a lot of your grammatical errors too you know, but this ain't English 101. And that error was pretty minor if I may say, that I obviously overlooked as I was typing fast. Filipinos like you (who's probably in the Philippines), tend to look for grammatical errors a lot & use that when they retaliate. How pathetically irrelevant is that? HAHAHAHA.
Well I know of some pinoys who are like that, & I do find them annoying. Especially the ones who pretend that they do not speak Filipino yet their accent is very discernable. But that has nothing to do w/ this performance, just like minor grammatical flaws have nothing to do w/ this video :-)
