  • what route is that at 0:43

  • I took this trip in 1958. It was so beautiful, especially in the Rockies. Only one stop at an Indian Trading Post in New Mexico. I would love to see all that in sim.

    If it were posible, I would do it again right now. Is it??????????

  • As someone who remembers seeing (and riding) the real El Capitan, this is a superbly rendered virtual trainset. The people who created this version have obviously done their homework. An excellent train, and an excellent video. (P.S. Though by 1956 the usual power was EMD F7s, Santa Fe still had enough "modernized" F3s left on the property, that the F3s included with this pack are entirely prototypical.)

  • @SantaFe5central Here's a bit of "technical trivia"-- the first power used on the "El Capitan" were EMD E-1s (from the train's debut in 1938 to sometime in the mid-40s). FT units (painted in passenger colors) did the honors for a couple of years (1945-1946), then were replaced by F3s beginning in 1947. Around 1949-1950, ALCo PAs could be seen on the point (perhaps these were the "long nose" units you referred to?) By the time the Hi-Levels came along in 1956, power was provided by EMD F7s.

  • What routes are you running on? i see Seligman already...

  • wrong locos though the used the long snout ones I forgot the Technical name*Facepalm*sorry

  • @SantaFe5central you mean the E units?

  • @SantaFe5central E6 i think

  • @atsf3780 thank you

  • Nice!

  • It's great how you add the history in your videos. (Donner Pass springs to mind)

    Noticed in the credits that you've used the new Green River route in the video. Will you be reviewing this in the future?

  • very nice Nick, that new machine of yours is really giving ATR vids a whole new look, it really runs MSTS well. Have you undertaken any film making courses? It's vids like this that want me to look into movie making. Well done mate from Downunder

    Timo =D

  • I'm an old retired ATSF Locomotive Engineer. I never did Passenger Service, but I do remember the old Stream Liners. I heard the Leslie Tyfon A-200 horn they all use to have. I use to throttle jerk the old EMD F7s in 1950. The music you played took me back a few years. I still live along the Emporia Sub. which the Chicago to Barstow Mainline. A great presentation of some old memories :-)
