honestly, i like davids voice better then sammys but from watching this video i think i like sammys stange performance better then davids, but david is one of the BEST singers in my book.
this must have been another performance take on this song, because the song that was released on MTV didn't have drum mistakes in it like this version...
Sammy is a wee bit out of key in this performance, but anyone can have an "off day".. i saw them live twice and he was on the money the whole way. both times.. and he does this powerful song like nobody else can...Hats off to him.. hes earned it
if only I was born to grow up with these guys, instead i have to listen to all this hip hop and rap stuff. I'm not saying I don't respect those genres, I would most definitely will listen to Van Halen over today's genres anytime
@edjorthebeast lol you dont have to listen to it if you dont want to.. I used to watch mtv as well.. then about 5-6 years ago it went to shit and I stopped.. Now I only listen to the classics..
I'm 17 and I love 80's music like this. Van Halen is my favorite band of all time and always will be. They just don't make music like this anymore. Nobody takes pride in their music...instead we got damn hip-hop/pop shit with everybody auto tuning their voices. I GUARANTEE that the hip-hop/pop artists could put on a powerful,meaningful, and great performance like this. ROCK 4ever!!!
Ha! Eddie looks a bit like Russell Crowe, at least here at :55. But you can't mistake that sweet singing from his fingers on the fretboard. Man, that was a great tour, they were all right on!
@0515hv You forgot one more - Stewart Copeland of The Police. He's incredible. Just listen to the songs Synchronicity I and II, Bombs Away, Canary in a Coalmine, Driven to Tears, Voices in my Head, When the World is Running Down, Spirits in the Material World, etc. He's a Jazz drummer so it develops his skill in really complicated drum techniques.
Easily Van Halen's best song.
They matured, and this is the result.

Don't really like Sammy but this song is fucking awesome. Some of the best lyrics I ever heard, and the solo is...simply amazing.

You can clearly hear that Sammy is hoarse or has a cold. I've seen many live videos where he hits those notes we expect to hear

Is Alex one of the most talented drummers ever?
I guess so...

@rfsorrenti
Isn't any guessing. My 3 top drummers - Alex Van Halen, Neil Peart, John Bonham
