I added this video to my favorites just because you have such a beautiful fish. I've never seen a sunfish with such nice colors, I use them for fishing bait but I could never use one of these :) Where can you get one btw? I have a lonely 6 1/2 inch oscar in a 65gallon tank and the tank is too small for another oscar but that sunfish doesn't grow as big and is such an awesome little fish

We have many of these in our creeks, although they are crossed between Sun fish, and what we call "red eyes" They get pretty big and are a blast on really light tackle.

he might be trying to stimulate the swimbait into depositing the eggs, by what looked like him Rubbing up on the sides of the swimbait. this is common among bass, and is probably the same for sunfish, try adding in another male and see what happens after you add a female, or just add a large mouth 14+" and he will take care of the Aggressive behavior of Mickey lol

Mickey is a rather large Specimen,considering how big the swimbait itself is.. He was brought home from a Pond and was pretty small when I relocated him. He has grown considerably,but I think hes done growing due to the size of the tank hes housed in.I believe certain animals grow according to the size of their enclosures. However,I believe regardless of the size of his enclosure,Mickey wouldnt get much larger than what he is, in the wild either.
