  • Were these books banned in schools or in countries?

  • This is SO stupid. I mean, I`ve read a lot of books from this list and I can`t believe they`re banning them, because the authors use the word `sex` here and there. And NOBODY should say anything against Stephen King. The man is a genius.

  • What damned idiotic country banned James and the Giant Peach?

  • The outsiders??? Why! I love that book and we read it in 8th grade!

  • Crmsn64, I know you left this post 4 months ago so you probably figured out that they spelled "freedom" with the word READ in it, as in "frREADdom". Get it? It's not important but I just saw your post here.

  • why the hell is waldo on the list?

  • There is one page in the first edition of a topless woman sunbathing.

  • harry potter?

  • Of Mice And Men? How is it "banned" if I read that book in SCHOOL? it was an assignment. O.o

  • @lovesicktragedy

I was assigned to read "Huckleberry Finn" in school, but in some schools it is banned.

  • The list went by too fast for me see some of the books I haven't read yet. Can you slow it down a bit? Besides that, good list.

  • Why exactly are all of these books banned?

  • Mostly because they depict sexual matters, but some (like Carrie and Of Mice and Men) also depict violence and morally questionable solutions to serious problems.
