I think Trent should give Dre. a hand in getting back. Maybe...Maybe Not...it is up to him. I wouldn't be surprised or shocked. But it is still a very long shot, he wouldn't lose fans it would be a small point in his career, compared to all his other work.
The Day I quit and got sober I had listened to this song and it made me think...i listened to it and thought about it for a while...then went back to sleep. Later I woke up and seen things differently. Changed my life.... thanks Trent. NIN today and everyday.
@Ocire14 was your comment even worth typing? god i fuckin hate precocious 14year old faggy bitches like you that think somebody on youtube actually gives a fuck about your worthless opinion.but hey thanks for letting the anonymous crowd in cyberspace know that this isnt for you.we will all keep it in mind
If this story i'm working on ever gets to be made into a film, this will definitely be on it. I'd probably go to him to have him do the soundtrack considering all the work he did on 'ghost i-iv'.
This song for me is so full of imagery that has been in my head since the fragile came out. For the longest time I couldn't remember the name of this song but when I found out what it was called I watched a video of "The Maxx" with this song in the back ground. There something really mystical about this song that speaks to me directly I've been a maxx fan since I was 7 years old.
Colette Cliar, That isn't true. I loved this album and anticipated "With Teeth", and then wan't impresed with "WT" or anything since they came out. The fragile, Downward Spiral and "All That Could Have Been" eras are the defining eras.
@halloweenking666 it might work if dre got into his dark place and remembered his friends that died in gangster style killings and such. emotion fuels the creative fire.
@prammaven i agree on the snappier snare. I tend to make my drums very punchy and snappy and louder in the mix. Drums make tracks more than people know. I put tons of work into my drums.
just love it. it's the proper expression of the proper emotions of a man who knows how to lay them down. beats that is. fine mesh of beats, one might call hip-hop beats, with many other frenquencies of sounds at different wavelengths to provide something much more than mere, MERE hip-hop, but the expression of real deep human emotions and experiences; and a display talent that is easily discerned from all.
most rockers I know hate hiphop/rap, hate 50 cent, hate lil wayne, hate soulja boy...but everyone of them i met, all acknolwedge that Dr. Dre is the shit, and respect Dr Dre. This is a Dr. Dre beat.
And for the hip hop heads, learn your musical history. Great WHITE men like Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart are the great musicians who gave humanity melody.
being a musician,it was a gift. I bought it twice and I am still missing 1 disk & I would
buy it again. At the beginning, there was always something to discover yet it was all melodic, now I know it all by heart. Some people say it is hard to get into. I took to it like a duck does to water.
Why the thumbs down? Dr Dre was the mixing assistant for this song. Trent likes to touch on a lot of musical areas too bad some thumbers down don't do the same.
dude. Reznor sometimes uses hip-hop beats. get over it. Hip-Hop is the shit. I'm not talking Lil Wayne and mainstream Hip-Hop. I'm talking good stuff, underground.
I don't care if it's hip hop or country, some one obviously loved this idea enough to turn it into a song, how lucky for us...
next time you diss on a type of music you don't like remember that there's people out there who love it just as much as you can or will ever love anything and just because you love something doesn't make it better than if they love it. we're all the same behind our differences so learn to get along before we're all destroyed.
@nineinchnail6794 you don't know shit. really, if anything, the song sounds a lot like UK trip hop like Tricky and Massive Attack. your ignorance is pitiful. listen to that rolling, funky beat. there's totally some dope shit going on here. I'd love to hear Dre remix this.
It is inevitably underrated; in the sense how how the general NIN public continuously disscusses Reznor's work like "Year Zero" or "The Downward Spiral" and not his musically significant work to date like "Pretty Hate Machine" or "The Fragile". I'm sorry if I'm somewhat opinionated; it's just what I feel. I FEEL as if this is musically the most significant track off the album (the best), along with "Somewhat Damaged" and "The Great Below".

imo the album is good but not underrated but even overrated, thing is everyone was expending a big bang and an astonishing followup after downward spiral so media hugged the album for like 1 year before release, yet it turned out not to be as great (TDS is my fav so far, one of best albums ever made imo) as previous. I love the fragile, it's an awesome album but far to TDS imo, this is why i think it was overrated.
i am still in love with this album, and i love ALL trent touches. he is so open and raw, and that kind of talent really speaks to me. he is so amazing
Dr. Dre did assist Trent mixing this song and he adds that hip hop feel to it. One of the best songs off The Fragile and of the Nine Inch Nails catalog.
The most underrated track off the "Left" disc along with "The Great Below" and"Somewhat Damaged". "Right" would undoubtably be "Where Is Everybody", "Please" and "I'm Looking Forward To Joining You, Finally". The only track I dislike off the album is "Starfuckers Inc." even though I approve of it's rebellion against cooporate America. Which is the cultural tumor that's killing America. "The Fragile" is agruably the most underrated album of the 1990s.
definetely. i dont know if everyone completely understood where his soul was moving, much like TOOL's 10,000 days. everybody was so focused on the "hard" aspect that they didnt see the artistic vision and ability to feel something, have an emotion or an idea, an turn it into art and loving it as an expression of life and ones views solidified
@JesusCristo2002 alot of people talk shit about the Fragile as being his "worst" album then "with Teeth" came out and everyone loved it. Something I will never, ever understand
This is a great song. I actually loved this album right from the start, there's like 10 great songs from the two discs combined, and a couple of good ones as well. Great stuff.
Does anybody know if Steve Albini did any production on this album? He's in the credits, but I don't know why...
