Is it me, or does this song take on a far more sinister feeling when sung by a male?

@mightymaniac haha that's exactly what happened to me. i hated this song at first.
okay not really... i could never hate anything in SA. but i was really bored by it and didn't see the point of it.
the second time i saw the show, i fell in love with the song. it's so beautiful and haunting.

at first when i heard this version i hated it but after listining to it a few more times i fell in love i love how its sang by a guy it has a very diffrent edge to it coming from a guys mouth its almost like he knows he hurt wendla and the guilt is in him but it also has a very creepy edge like he did rape her

much more of the original wedekind play than the musical. i think i like the new lyrics better. they're so pretty and sad now, this version is very...harsh and cold imo.

you get a totally different reading from this song when sung by a guy than by a girl.
of course the lyrics are different but the point of view is totally altered.
so amazing. i love spring awakening.
