This is absolutely my favorite version of the theme. The Moffat theme is just "Eh" . . . awful? Is that the word I'm looking for? I liked the '96 movie theme. In fact, other than the diamond-in-the-rough portrayal of the Doctor by Paul McGann, the theme is the only good part about the movie! Actually, no, the Gothic architecture of the interior of the TARDIS was awesome as well. If only it didn't have Rassilon's mark everywhere and didn't have THE EYE OF HARMONY IN IT THAT MADE NO SENSE.

Chris and Matt are different. Of course they have their own character. But David is the most close of the perfect doctor in our minds.

Doctor Who theme complete with the middle 8 part - why have they removed it from the latest theme tune?? I bet it was to do with air time which is a shame.
@Scarperguy I wouldn't call it a bad edit exactly. It's done to a click track, and I think a more organic and pleasing transition would have dragged the transition by a half beat. It's actually perfectly in time, and I don't hear any irregularities that would suggest cutting one part into another. But the way it switches, it's too clean and too in time. It's the reason why electronic drums can never really replicate a live drummer.
The theme tune was a major factor in getting me interested in DW. This is without a doubt among the most epic pieces of music I've ever heard. I figured a character who has THIS for his theme tune must be absolutely AWESOME.
Do you have a version of the 2005-2007 theme tune where, after the main theme and middle eight, the background just .... loops a couple of times, before the main theme starts again? I could've sworn I've heard a version like that before (it's about 3 minutes long), but I can't find it anymore.
@BBsareawsome01 I recently bought Doctor Who Season 1 and remembered how much I loved Eccleston as the Doctor. Some say he is just too angry, all the time.
Christopher Eccleston was the best Doctor in my opinion (out of the three new ones)...loved Tennant, but he lasted for too long, he should've regenerated at the end of season 4. Smith is excellent, I don't know why people don't like him. True, he's not David Tennant, and that's what makes him good. You don't want all of the Doctors to be the same.
@RixPixable Not in the slightest. Smith just feels more like watching classic Who than Tennant, probably because its not all Daleks and Cybermen, but that's just me. Tennant's by no means a bad actor, he was a great doctor, he just had the misfortune of having a poor writer at the helm. The Tennant episodes Moffat wrote were brilliant, the RTD ones on the other hand... Not so much.
@RixPixable One thing I like about Matt is that he stays in character and acts his best no matter how crap the episode is. That, and he has a fun time with his fellow cast. Series 5 IMO is Matt's best season so far (who hates his badass speeches?) while Series 6 was a bumpy-wumpy mess (there were quite a few episodes I liked, especially the one Neil Gaiman wrote, but it felt like Steven Moffat focused his attention to Sherlock instead, but at least he gives RTD a chance to write if he wants).
@zTimeL Personally I loved Tennant; I just thought his voice, appearance, and tendancies were awesome. Smith's cool. Frankly Eccleston was my least favorite of the new three, not to say he wasn't good, he was fantastic, but I liked Tennant and Smith's renditions a little bit better. Maybe I'm crazy, but hey, so are you. Who isn't, amiright?

The David Tennant Doctor Who years with Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate were the best. I can't even begin to watch the idiotic 2010 version. The look of the show and the idiot kid who is entirely unbelievable as The Doctor make me tune out before I can even think of watching an episode. It's no longer fun.

Christopher Eccleston was the best Doctor in my opinion (out of the three new ones)...loved Tennant, but he lasted for too long, he should've regenerated at the end of season 4. Smith is excellent, I don't know why people don't like him. True, he's not David Tennant, and that's what makes him good. You don't want all of the Doctors to be the same.

@RixPixable Not in the slightest. Smith just feels more like watching classic Who than Tennant, probably because its not all Daleks and Cybermen, but that's just me. Tennant's by no means a bad actor, he was a great doctor, he just had the misfortune of having a poor writer at the helm. The Tennant episodes Moffat wrote were brilliant, the RTD ones on the other hand... Not so much.

@RixPixable One thing I like about Matt is that he stays in character and acts his best no matter how crap the episode is. That, and he has a fun time with his fellow cast. Series 5 IMO is Matt's best season so far (who hates his badass speeches?) while Series 6 was a bumpy-wumpy mess (there were quite a few episodes I liked, especially the one Neil Gaiman wrote, but it felt like Steven Moffat focused his attention to Sherlock instead, but at least he gives RTD a chance to write if he wants).

@zTimeL Personally I loved Tennant; I just thought his voice, appearance, and tendancies were awesome. Smith's cool. Frankly Eccleston was my least favorite of the new three, not to say he wasn't good, he was fantastic, but I liked Tennant and Smith's renditions a little bit better. Maybe I'm crazy, but hey, so are you. Who isn't, amiright?

@zTimeL I really liked Eccleston as the Doctor, and was kind of sad to see him go, but I've actually grown to like Tennant more. I don't like Smith as much as the other two since his version of the Doctor is a bit, well, rude, to say the least. :\

The David Tennant Doctor Who years with Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate were the best. I can't even begin to watch the idiotic 2010 version. The look of the show and the idiot kid who is entirely unbelievable as The Doctor make me tune out before I can even think of watching an episode. It's no longer fun.
