  • I was just wondering if anyone could answer me this, I'm looking to build a computer soon and I'm getting a single GTX 560TI, but after I've built and saved up a bit more money I'm thinking about getting another one to run in SLI, would an 850w power supply be enough to supply power for both the graphics cards and all the other stuff? and if so what would be the lowest wattage power supply I could get.

  • @thomasBLAKEINATORMAT mm yeah 850w would be fine but if youre looking to get dual 570's later on get a 1000w

  • Hey...I wanna ask...I have this psu called E-view 450-watt (250w real power)...What does it mean??Is it running on 450 watt or 250 watt??Im confused..

  • Not bad, but spend more time on the actual product, and less about general PSU knowlegde type items...

  • I CAN use this power supply with q9650? mb: asus striker ii formula??

    2xGTX 550 TI SC?

  • @FFF693 Yes Easy

  • @Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1 oh thank you :) and without problems? thanks again!

  • @FFF693 No problems at all this is actually over kill for em

  • @MyLastRelapse

dude it does, it has two 4+2 pins and the max crossfire it can handle is 6970's.

  • @adreanwazn

correction four 4+2 pin PCIE connectors.

  • @MyLastRelapse yes it can.

  • Co Sear? Thought it was pronounced Core Sair.

  • @MyBrainIsMush I Faaarking Agree With you !! :)

  • subbed :P

  • i use this with a phenom 1090t @ 4.00 ghz + 2 msi twin frozr 6950s 1 hdd 3 case fans 1 dvd drive pulling 650watt from the wall at load .

  • HX750 or AX750??

  • Excellent review

  • This is my perfect PSU. Its going to kill my wallet at $190 AU, but I'm sure it'll last me a few builds and it sounds REALLY quiet, which is an aim for my system, since it will be in my bedroom.

  • hi buddy and viewers... im thinking of buying this product, what i want to know is does it come as standard size for all htpc cases and will it fit my nox live 2 htpc case, this messege is to all if any one can help me PLEEEEEEEEEEEZ many thanks

  • @supastauk well, this is a standard atx form factor, there are smaller power supplies for htpc's, however your case looks to be designed to fit an atx power supply. Although, i would recommend a power supply with a front fan instead of a top fan because the fan on this would be blocked by the side (top) panel.

  • @bro589 thanks buddy, the case is a standard atx, regards the fan the case does have vents on top of the case where the power supply will be fitted, will that be ok do u think and mate once again thanks for ur help really appreciate it :-)

  • @supastauk no problem, glad to help. As long as theres ventilation you should be fine. btw why do you need 750W in there?

  • @bro589 well i bought it but its just slightly too big length wise,im gona have to send it back and get some thing that is square,i was told to get 750w for some reason im not too sure why, what do u think?shall i go for something smaller like 650 or something like that?thnx

  • @supastauk well, that depends. What components are you planning to run in there?

  • @bro589 well i will be using gigabyte ga 890 ud3h motherboard,4x8gb corsair ram, 2x80mm noctua exhaust fans 1x120mm intake fan,ozc ssd 60gb to run windows 7 and wd 1tb 64 cache 7200 hard drive, samsung x12 bluray writer and the amd phenom ii x6 core processor wifi card and internel blutooth just for htpc use thnks

  • @bro589 well i will be using gigabyte ga 890gx ud3h motherboard,4x8gb corsair ram, 2x80mm noctua exhaust fans 1x120mm noctua intake fan,ozc ssd 60gb to run windows 7 and wd 1tb 64 cache 7200 hard drive, samsung x12 bluray writer and the amd phenom ii x6 core processor wifi card and internel blutooth just for htpc use thnks

  • @supastauk the components that you mentioned would consume around 350w in total, so a 650w corsair psu would be a very safe bet, leaving you some room for a decent video card if you wish. As long as your not planning to run SLI or C.F.X, then you should be safe.

  • @bro589many thanks bruv, what is sli c.f.x? ta and can u recomend a power supply that is 150mm wide 86mm height and 140mm in length as the 650 corsair come in 150mm in length many many thank buddy

  • @supastauk hmm, i newer really payed any attention to the psu size, defiantly go for the COOLER MASTER GX Series RS650. SLI and CFX is when multiple graphics cards are used in one computer for high performance, SLI is for multiple nVidia and CFX is for multiple ATI cards.

  • Is this PSU better than the Seasonic S12D Silver 750?

  • @akshaymohan24 that's a tough question. both are pretty good. honestly i'd just get the cheaper of the 2, they're both amazing.

this psu has .99 efficiency when using under 50% load at all times and at least .8 efficiency on max load.

  • 12v and 62A... Damn...Why do you need so much, powering a nuke?

  • Can i hook up a 800 watt power supply to a micro atx case and micro atx board?

  • @jfcrock37 yes , but it probably wont fit

  • CAN YOU GUYS RECOMMEND ME A 600W PSU AND ITS CHEAP ON PRICE THANKS IM SEARCHING FOR IT ><

  • Guys just go to Corsair.com and there's a calculator to see what kind of pwr supply you would need to run your system.

  • could you have 2 GTX 570 with this PSU?

  • @xiccelol

    easily.

  • @xiccelol Short answer, yes.

  • @xiccelol You might get away with it, but I would go with 850w.

  • doesn't this psu support crossfire?!?! only SLI? :'(

  • @mirvid Dude. It really doesn't matter whether it's certified or not, it will still power your GPUs all the same. Certification for GPU setups only matter when you are getting a motherboard.

This supports 2-4 GPUs depending on the type of GPU.

  • @MGBlacks Certification for SLI or Crossfire means the PSU has been tested in real a SLI/CF situation, it also means that it must include the cabling required to SLI/CF, so it's not just a logo.

  • @MGBlacks Certification for SLI or Crossfire means the PSU has been tested in a real SLI/CF situation, it also means that it must include the cabling required to SLI/CF, so it's not just a logo.

  • will this be able to power a moderately over clocked intel i7 950 and two of the new gtx 560's that are coming out

  • How much wattage do you need for 1 50mm fan, 1 80mm fan, one hard drive, an AMD Athlon CPU, an MS-7061 mobo, and an optical drive?

I'm guessing 200-300 watts but I just want to check

  • @MixerVM what about your graphics card?

  • @acogscopepwn Onboard 64MB Intel chipset, I'm not a serious gamer

  • @MixerVM

250 watt would power your pc. Please dont tell me you wanna get this PSU??

  • @ndogg360 No I would never get a 250 watt. I doubt they even sell them anymore

  • i jus bought my corsair hx750 psu for my new build i tried to connect the psu to my LED fans to test the fans without any other peripheral connected but i couldn't get the LED fan to work...do i need to have a motherboard connected in order to get the fans to work ???

  • @ixy1987 yeah you can't just connect the fans to the led fans, i don't even know how its possible but it doesn't work that way, you need a motherboard to connect any computer fan to

  • @acogscopepwn no it is possible u need a paper clip.......connect a paperclip from green pin socket to black pin socket on the atx lead

  • @ixy1987 well then i don't think you should've asked the question then XD

  • @acogscopepwn i ask the same question on similar video and i got the response the nxt day....i jus thought i'll let u know for your benefit !

  • skip to 3:50 for the actual interesting bit, and the bit you wanted to watch

  • lol at all the people asking stupidly simple questions.

"will this psu work with my setup?"

"does it come with the cables i need?"

FFS you're already on the internet, do some god damn research if you're thinking of building your own computer!

  • @MyBrainIsMush Does this power supply support AM3 socket?

  • @MyBrainIsMush I think you are exaggerating, since there are users who believe that the cd rom drive's plate usage is for the cup of coffee :)

  • @MyBrainIsMush This IS the internet jackass, and google / youtube search probably recommended them this video. most tech searches bring me to 3DGAMEMAN on youtube. No one is forcing you to read them. Mr. KnowItAll, why bother coming here to watch something you already know about? To learn about it right? Let others watch and learn. Asking questions isn't hurting anyone.

  • @MyBrainIsMush You wrote down in words what I think everytime I read a dumbass comment. I mean god damn people just fucking buy a computer if you don't want to spend 10 minutes online.

  • @MyBrainIsMush IT IS RESEARCH. What better place to look for answers on a product than a page full of reviews? It's assholes like you that impede the progress of less knowledgeable people by laughing and mocking them!

  • @Suspect930 There is no reason to ask a question for research on a message board when they could use Google and learn much faster and easier.

  • @MyBrainIsMush dumb ass this is why people are asking here stupid ass they came here looking as thats what suppose to happen review(researching if it is good) thats why they are here u don't want to answer the question just shut the heck up

  • @whitestar111 Your answer is redundant, you should ask on a forum site for PC builders, not a youtube site, your not going to get very reliable answers here.

  • @DigitalHailStorm its just as reliable as any forum this is a new way of searching

  • @MyBrainIsMush will this psu work with my setup?

  • @MyBrainIsMush i always pick my psu last so i have a idea on what i need to get

  • wil this psu work with:

    intel i7-930

    msi x58 pro-E

    6gb of ddr3 ram

    2x sapphire radeon hd 5770

    Please anyone?:O

  • @rsgeak94 it wouldnt work!!!! jokes 750w is ok buy it!!

  • rondey, we all know what rails are, you have only explained it 80 times xD

  • I'm getting the HX850W! :D How do I know if all cables I need come with it?

  • greed

  • lol, ads by google is advertising the apad. that stupid ipad ripoff running a android rippof XD

  • One of the best reviews ihave seen on youtube. I have just one question: How do u let the fan spin without a pc? i need that too because i want to find out why my pc is so loud. THX

  • I have an HP Pavilion a6530f in a Mid size ATX, will the Corsair 650W fit in it?

  • @Superbeast1980 It should - the HX650 is a standard ATX PSU.

  • id get a 650 min if u want to sli without probs

  • @younoooob thx very much my psu in the 12v has 19A idk if that good or not but my bros sasy thats a shit xD

  • guys plz some1 respond in have an actek 600W power supply edge performance that came with my cabinet zenux pro gamin but idk if that power supply would be enogh for a gt240 (sry idk about power supplys)

  • @TheBigupz yer its heaps 450w IM minumum ,watts is overhyped for actual needs, amps are important the table on the sides (learn what the values mean),1500W can run worse then a 400W if it only has one rail and has say a total of 29A on a 12V rail, where as the 400w can have 12v duel rails with 25A on each, the antec tp has quad 12v rails at 22 -25A on each, theirs a rule of thumb,(this is just a brief outline) mostly all i can say always get branded antec, cosair, therm etc and with 80+ efficiency

  • thanx rod for allowing comments i have the hx650 got it for free one thing i dont like about the hx650 is the 8pin mobo power conector isn't a single 8pin its2x4pin but what the hell it was free

  • thank you o mighty 3dgameman ,for sharing again thou great wisdom with us small humanoids .

we are not worthy ,but thnx again.

  • what company are the makers of antec PSU's?

  • @jomac21 hahahahaha :P Antec :P

  • @mzdzohn What i meant was, for example, the company that manufactures some of the cooler master's power supply is acbel... and for corsair is seasonic.. did you get what i meant? :)

  • This power supply is in my new build. :D

  • could i run two 5770 and a intel core i5 on the Asus maximus III Gene?

  • @124Z312

    Easily.

  • a dutch site reviewed it and it was much louder --> 43.8 dB(A)

is that true because I want a quiet power supply

  • "transformers which convert domestic CURRENT into the voltages that your computer system can use"

Yes, we can see that you have no electronics knowledge whatsoever.

  • @davidjereb

lol why would you say that?

  • @Acfeiln Read my whole comment FFS.

  • CAN YOU PLEASE STOP EXPLAINING RAILS AND THAT STUFF IN EVERY VIDEO, IT GETS ANNOYING

  • I love this PSU. Single 12V rail putting out 62 amps provides bedrock stability. It's overkill for my system at the moment, but I like knowing that my rig is future-proof with something like this.

    A 7 year warranty, too!

And it's modular. Much better than the TX model. The cable mess is practically nothing. All of the leads are very low-profile and plenty long enough to be routed behind the motherboard tray.

If you need a high quality PSU for a high end graphics card, this is it.

  • nice review rodney!.. pls do more unboxing and reviews..

  • There is also a 650W version aswel btw :'). Costs around £93.

  • @FubuMushu 93 pounds damn thats expensive

  • @099psp But the reliability and performance makes it worth it. Trust me once you get one you won't be buying any other.

  • @FubuMushu lol i will be getting it soon but in 520watt form

  • @099psp Good man! You wont regret it :).

P.s. if you want to crossfire or sli in the future though i would suggest the 650 or 750. The 650 will handle crossfire but not sli i believe simply because the nvidia cards are more power hungry.

  • @FubuMushu hha no this is my Daily Computer made for everyday use and a small bit of gaming.. my NEW gaming rig ill be getting the 1000W Corsair one

  • @099psp Overkilll! but i like it :)

  • @099psp You won't be gaming at all? Then get a 250 watt, or a 300 watt power supply.

  • @FRURMELLL this pc build is gonna be half gaming half Normal and im overclocking so i think 520W is enough

  • @FubuMushu the 650w version sucks like hell, the efficency barely meets bronze, on this its gold efficeny (rated at silver because it failed one test but on 80+ website its listed at 80+ GOLD)

  • @TheMoo1231 So what would you recommend for a good branded psu then??

  • @FubuMushu this, most corsairs are excellent, enermax, seasonic, coolermaster (they have new gold ones which are good) etc.

  • @TheMoo1231 Seasonic and corsair are the same company btw, seasonic make corsair psu's!

  • @FubuMushu there not the same company, there both separate but corsairs psu's are manufufatured by seasonic, CWT, and now flextronics apparently.

  • @FubuMushu too expensive. i'll buy for 30 bucks.

  • Could I run a gtx 480 and a q9650 with this in a HAF 932?

  • @BAYCITYAIRSOFT Yes you Can with Ease ..>..... it will not even break a sweat

  • Overall this is a kickass product!

  • not all the caps are ratted at 105 degrees and not all caps are japanese...

  • could i run 2 5850s on the TX750?

  • @124Z312 With ease.

  • @124Z312 Yes, But there will be no problem! There are chances of Pushing it to the limits. But i suggest you to go with a 850W. to be on the safer side

  • i'm hoping this PSU will crossfire my 5770's just fine but I'm a little scared since i OC the crap out of them & same for the x6 1090T when i get it.

  • This Hx or corsair 750TX or antec truepower 750 (blue led)

  • can the 8 pin connector be a 4 pin connector??

or is it just a regular 8 pin??

  • The 8pin splits in half into two 4pins :)

  • r u sure??

  • 100% sure mate. I got one. It Split in half a make 2 4pins. You can use either side too.

  • thx man

  • i just love this PSU<3

  • I have a CQ3020AN Compaq presario desktop pc, can anyone tell me what powersupply atleast 450watts or even more, would fit my computer, im trying to run a HD5770, which fits, but i need a new power supply, but i dunno which one to get, help would be great thnks :)

  • This Corsair 750 or even maybe their 650 if its ATX u need

  • i got a question whats a 4p connector for .anyone?

  • @HackerBoy003 its for the CPU, like the 6-pin-connection for the Graphicscard, but for the CPU

  • @andromedarr o thanks

  • Hmm I would go with the 850 version, volkz2. Even if this one supplys enough, it won't last that long.

  • damnit i was going to buy this but it doesnt support crossfire.

    DAMNIT

  • you sure?

  • 2 minutes after I made that post, I found out it still supports Crossfire, it's just not """""*Certified*""""" :D

  • Yeah, nvidia sucks with their sponsor shit/p same with physX

  • i have this psu (the 850 watt model) , all i have to hope for is that it can handle my upcoming phenom II 965 and radeon hd 5970

  • @woodshuck easyly will. I couldnt get over 580W on full load on my Seasonic 700W with i7 4,8GHz and 2xGTX295. ;)

  • cool thx man :D

  • I just got this psu, its a beast, i recommend it.

  • So what is better to buy - HX850W or Enermax revolution 1050W?

    Which is better one?

  • I'm planning on buying a ASUS CROSSHAIR FORMULA II mobo, an XFX HD RADEON 5850 and a AMD PHENON II X4 955 processor, and CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3. Should I get an 750 or 650watt psu?

  • @manutube8080 750

    over time they lose wattage

  • thnx man

  • I would also go for a 750, a 650 would also just do absolutally fine, just with a 750 u will be albe to cf your HD 5850 if u desire to.

  • what's CF?

  • CF stands for Crossfire, 2 ATI cards on one motherboard.

  • I bought one and it died after 2 days. I thougt this was quality but i was wrong

  • Whenever I go to play games my computer will just restart.

    heres the specs:

    core i7 920 cpu

    asus p6t deluxe v2

    xfx hd radeon 5870

    ultra x3 psu

    4 gb ddr 3 ram

    windows 7 64 bit OS

  • the cpu temps are good, everything else seems to work until I go to play a game. then my computer loads the game but restarts the whole computer like we hit the reset button. We are thinking its a bad power supply. its a 850 watter so its not like we don't have enough power.

anyone have this happen to them ever, when you go to play a game and the computer just restarts, if so what was the prob?

  • @CoasterChick22 are you overclocked or stock what are your specs mobo cpu ram ect i can help

  • Does the restart occur exactly when you open the game or after playing a while?

If it occurs at opening the game then i'd try with another psu.

If it occurs after playing a while my best bet would be your graphics card over heats.

  • Your pc is too bad. Buy a celeron instead of the i7.

  • lol..

    You crazy?

  • @anpe1001 are you joking or are u serious celeron instead of i7????

  • well that system doesnt need much power.. i7 920 + 5870 use under 300w in 90% load. LGA1366 prosessor use tri channel memory so 3*2gb is better that 2+2gb

  • @CoasterChick22 It is mainly ur RAM's problem... would like to upgrade to a 6GB Ram instead?

  • What are the differences between the HX and TX series?

  • @jeroeniskoning i guess the big deference is that the HX is modular while TX is not

  • another kickass review! Rodney is the best reviewer in the planet!

  • where is the noise? damn...

  • thanks for the review

I went for the TX 750W and Corsair really makes great PSUs

  • how do i know if its crossfire certified?

  • Don't buy into this "Crossfire Certified" crap, it will work for crossfire too.

it's a marketing idea they came up with, they know that people look for certifications, and if their product says it's certified, then they assume, that the others aren't and so they buy their product.

  • Yeah it would be :-)

  • Because this is sli certified can it do crossfire well or is it that it can do it but not very well?

  • SLI Certified is just a marketing thing they do, because they know there are people that look SPECIFICALLY for parts that say SLI Certified, and then people will be more likely to buy it, rather than one that doesn't say it.

It's simply supplying power, it has all the necessary hookups, and the either ATI or Nvidia cards will work fine.

It's like EVGA's X58 3X SLI mobo, it doesn't even mention Crossfire, but it DOES support Crossfire :-)

EVGA likes to focus more on Nvidia.

  • Corsair are THE best you can get, a company called "Seasonic" manufacturers them, and they use quality parts, very efficient, very reliable, and have proper protections to protect your hardware if it ever fails.

It also has a 5 year warranty, but make sure you do NOT buy it from like eBay, check the site to see what companies are Certified Retailers, that are covered, or you will get NOTHING for a Warranty. :-(

  • Thanks for the reply

  • np :-)

  • You're nearly correct. Corsair aren't the best, but SeaSonic does make some of their units, but not this one. SeaSonic make the older HX series, the CX400, VX450, VX550 and the TX650. CWT make the newer HX series (the one in the video), the 750TX, 850TX, 950TX and the 1000HX.

As for a power supply that beats this: The SeaSonic X-750. Check out its review on JonnyGuru, nothing short of amazing.

Also, it's nice to see a well-informed member of YouTube. :)

  • thanks :-)

You can't really go wrong with either, when the difference is negligible, I then compare the price, and the Warranties of both companies.

The HX750W has a 5 year warranty, and they have another one (Forget which one) has a 7 Year Warranty. I like this, it shows they have faith in their product, and it gives me piece of mind too knowing I'm covered for a while :-)

but I choose solid products over warranty first. I wouldn't want a crappy part with a 5 year warranty, lol

  • rather get a quality product with less of a warranty.

    but both are important.

  • and actually the price is the last thing I consider, it goes in this order. (For PSU's)

    1. Quality

    2. Warranty

    3. Price

noobies reverse the order, their list is like this:

    1. Price

    2. Warranty

    3. Quality

    LOL.

this explains why some people buy crappy cheap power supplies.

  • @1981z28camaro i kinda agree but i first go with price(since im not rich or have money to spend on) quality and warranty

  • well the thing about price, is it doesn't matter (To an extent) if you're patient :-)

  • @1981z28camaro yea... but its hard saving money..
