Isn't there a way to free transform the gradient effect simply with the Move tool?
You know, resize it, rotate it, raise or diminish the distance between colors... I do remind that Corel Draw has such feature, so PS could also have that.
as soon as i click layer mask,the colour boxes both turn grey,please help me out here,also the camera sign below the colour boxes isnt white or selected as yours is in the video.I want to tell you my settings so that you know if i have some wrong settings.On the above menu line,dither and transparency are selected.In refine layer settings,view mode is on L layers,the edge detection and adjust edge output options are not selected. On the MENU ,the image is set in RBG and 8 bits per square,thanks
hai,i want to ask you that when i click layer mask,it appears beside the copied layer but the colour boxes turn to grey and whatever colour i choose for the gradient,the colour remain grey(i think something goes wrong with the layer mask)please can you tell me any settings that will allow the layer mask to be coloured,thanks
must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste
When I use gradient tool to brighten only the dark side of a person, it brightens the whole picture. What am I doing wrong? I did everything like in the video. Thanks.
Make sure the foreground color in your tool palette is set to black and your background color is set to white before using the gradient tool. If they're both set to white, the gradient tool will have no effect
Keep in mind that if Jim were not doing this for the tutorial, he would spend much more time perfecting the look. His objective here is to show the technique.
That's really nice, I guess you could have darkened the ground inbetween them as well. But what really blew me away was the queality on your video, that's... perfect.
The people also "went too dark", what does that mean?

such a cumbersome work flow. Aperture 3 and Lightroom can do the same thing but much easier.

Nvm, I just got it, you just need to click with the Move while in the Layer Style options, so you can place it wherever you want.

Why is it when I do this that my gradient has no effect whatsoever, have I switched something off by mistake or something?
matthewawbery 1 year ago 2
@matthewawbery
Make sure you have selected the layer mask when applying the gradient tool effect.
