Anytime you're dealing with a mainstream album it'll more than likely sound "overproduced" (although that sound usually doesn't bother me). It's why you should take any chance you get to hear artists live (either through going to concerts or listening to live recordings) because you'll get to hear what they intended the songs to sound like.
