I am finally able to take belly dance classes after wanting to for the past 5 years and I enjoyed being able to name the moves am now familiar with just by watching their bodies and not by the language. I will include the exercise of the shoulder punches, chest pops, and hip bumps as it looks like good practice. Thank you for the video and for keeping online. :D

This is my personal opinion. I dont think they are that competent and they dont really perform it as gracefullyas it should be because i think they are more of technical and trend rather than roots and heritage. Perhaps if conditioned to really mould a belly dancer that would be different. if they are taking it as a hobby then i guess that explains why some things are best left to the predecessors and inheritors. Like i said unless conditioned or mould to, otherwise bland.

I know there are male belly dancers, and they are great too! But this dance originated as a women's dance. Perhaps it's time we let ALL person's embrace this beautiful dance, be they male, female, Middle Eastern, Korean, German, American. And whether they be "skinny" or "fat". Dance is an artform that any BODY can do, and should do.

yeah, I don't think there's a problem with being slender and wanting to belly dance. It's not called "fat dance" lol. As long as you can catch the fluidity, spirit, and technical isolations I think you will dance really well. Physically speaking, I would say people that are -hard core toned- would have serious issues dancing lol...they're too rock hard. As long as you have some baby fat ( I don't know a proper word), fluidity won't be a problem imo.

This video doesn't do justice to how well Koreans dance, this is a tutorial video. I went to a party in the Philippines and they had belly dancing there being done by flipinas, they were quite good actually. There's some youtube videos, look for "palmier's restaurant".
