this and much of his set prove that he doesn't need a lot of orchestration and production. Anoop could do bare bones arrangements and sell. His voice is his instrument and needs to be featured front and center all the time.

Michael always was good to Anoop when he was on American Idol and after he left (the exit interviews on EW). I think Michael always tries to be fair, but there's never any doubt which AI contestants he supports each season. Anoop wasn't at the top of the list, but he was on the "short list" of Michael's favorites. I think he'll give good press to Anoop when he gets signed and releases his first record.

Just in response to everyone talking about record deals on here...I heard that a lot of recording artists now are just producing their music themselves and using i-tunes and other digital download services to get their music out there. By eliminating the producers, executives and record companies they get to keep more of the profits they make off of their music sales than if they did have a deal and contract.

Yes, but these artists don't get to have a wider audience.Plus most of the time, fans from overseas don't get to legally download their songs(because it's not available to them).

And it would be such a SHAME to not let the musical sensibilities and voice of someone like Anoop to get to reach as much audience as possible.

Well Promotion and marketing though it may be a hurdle, if he wanted he could make it much easier to access by not only selling on itunes, but on a website that he or a trusted friend runs where music can be purchased straight from his site. That way profits will either go directly to him the artist, or be divided among him and whoever wrote the song or runs the site. Plus word of mouth would definitely send fans to web page.
