I don't live in America and certainly didn't grow up there either. My point of view of America growing up was why dosn't America leave the rest of the world in peace because everyone around me seems to want, and historically the fingers kinda do most of the time point to America. Did you know after US relief to flood victims in Pakistan, US approval doubled, if only those trillions of dollars were spent to provide relief to people we would all be living in a better world.
There is no kind way to put this other than to say it outright- unless you are a government or major corporation then your opinion of America really doesn't matter. What happens behind the scenes is what matters, and in that world the export of the US is precisely what you see it to be. We export empire. We export security. It's a modern version of the empire, only with client states. And the people bitch while the officials wink at each other.
I think America has lost itself. It doesnt follow the constitution. It used to be considered the best country in the world. You can fix it, but get the wankers you have in power out, and get a great man like ron paul in to bring you back to the grass roots, how your founding fathers wanted it to be.
We do separate the people from the Government but it becomes harder to do that when we come across American's and hear their view point which often supports the Government view. Many people regard American's as sheep blindly following their Government in any direction it goes.
Of course my personal view is that American's are smart but have become too comfortable with their lifestyle and distractions such as baseball, etc. They simply don't care and will follow the direction of Government.

I hope people worldwide don't hate the American people. Hate our politics, sure, many of us Americans hate our politics, too. You know, in comparison, I have a lot of reservations about Islam (particularly radical/fundamental versions), but I would never say that I hate Muslims. There is a huge difference between the individual and the group (not to mention groups within the group). And it is sad that often times people refuse to acknowledge that difference--on both sides of the coin.

I seperate the people from the government because the people are not really responsible for the actions of the government. It's often interesting reading forums dedicated to tourism in some manner or other for non-U.S. countries when someone asks those who live there every day what they think of x country's people, which tourists are cheapskates, etc. It's common to hear the British are loud, obnoxious, and cause a lot of trouble, for instance.

No one should ever be punished for what MIGHT happen.... e.g. Yelling fire in a crowded theater should not be a crime... if anyone gets hurt because of a panic... THAT is a crime and should be prosecuted and punished. We cannot allow government to make determinations on what is acceptable speech... i.e. yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater (which is private property) can get you trespassed off the property... but should not be a crime unless it actually causes harm to someone else.

I'm in Ireland and most American's I've talked to have been misinformed at best. They are oblivious to what's happening in their own nation. Europeans know alot more about what's going there than they do. I see many American's as in a state of blissful ignorance which they will soon be violently ripped out of soon. Demcad, i took a trip to Greece a few years ago, and no one was overtly rude to me, but I did witness the girl behind me get her change actually tossed back at her, and the man in the kiosk said "I hate Americans". Our tour guide went OFF and threatened the man she was gonna call the tourism police! She said tourism made their economy and he couldn't afford to do that. I get the impression that we Americans are resented around the world, maybe we have a sense of entitlement that bugs others.
@Plum369 also on the same trip, a vendor told one of us how his wife and kids were in the US, he loved the US and was working on joining them there. So, I suppose we shouldn't say EVERYONE around the world resent/dislike us, but I think enough do that its generally the vibe. I was certainly conscious of that perception of Americans.

As soon as the economy begins to really recover oil will have to go up cause consumption will increase. With so many people homeless and out of work demand is way down heaven forbid we take the bait and start to widen interstates and the like. We need to invest in quality public transport that will work for the daily commuter. Right now public transportation is unpopular but when fuel does spike and we need it we better have it or we will grind to a halt.

If you try and make them think outside this box, you're asking for it.
@Milts577 As an American, I tried to wake up my friends and family for the last two years. People do get very depressed when someone chips away at their little box. Although I've found some really cool people who get it, most people will live their lives blindfolded until it's too late. When reality finally intrudes, they will face major depression as they are forced to confront the collapse. Many will not be able to make sense of it, since many of them don't know how to do any research.

I don't live in America and certainly didn't grow up there either. My point of view of America growing up was why dosn't America leave the rest of the world in peace because everyone around me seems to want, and historically the fingers kinda do most of the time point to America. Did you know after US relief to flood victims in Pakistan, US approval doubled, if only those trillions of dollars were spent to provide relief to people we would all be living in a better world.

We do separate the people from the Government but it becomes harder to do that when we come across American's and hear their view point which often supports the Government view. Many people regard American's as sheep blindly following their Government in any direction it goes.
Of course my personal view is that American's are smart but have become too comfortable with their lifestyle and distractions such as baseball, etc. They simply don't care and will follow the direction of Government.

I hope people worldwide don't hate the American people. Hate our politics, sure, many of us Americans hate our politics, too. You know, in comparison, I have a lot of reservations about Islam (particularly radical/fundamental versions), but I would never say that I hate Muslims. There is a huge difference between the individual and the group (not to mention groups within the group). And it is sad that often times people refuse to acknowledge that difference--on both sides of the coin.

I'm in Ireland and most American's I've talked to have been misinformed at best. They are oblivious to what's happening in their own nation. Europeans know alot more about what's going there than they do. I see many American's as in a state of blissful ignorance which they will soon be violently ripped out of soon. We'll probably see many high-rise swan-divers when that happens.

@scottandildi I was born and live in the U.S and what you said is true and it pisses me off, even when you show them the truth of something important they have this "it can't possibly effect me mentality" it is unbelievable especially because I am still in high school and for the most part I see nothing but ignorant, uncaring idiots. Of course not all Americans are like this but people such as Demcad are definitly in the minority.

@SuperWillHatch I am talking about believing media propaganda as well as a self-imposed sense of superiority that many Americans have, especially the Boomers. The post-war children of America are the most narcissistic generation America has ever had. They are diluded by their own air of invincability. They believe the three ring circus acts of the media to their detriment. They don't know that their country is already a fascist state, and knowing is half the battle.

@SuperWillHatch If you ask the average American what the Patriot Act is they will say "patriot what?". That's what I mean. There are dozens of other acts and newly implimented laws which have destroyed their constitution and they continue to watch football and baseball and drink beer. Just remember that the word patriot contains the word riot for a reason. Goodnight America, it was fun while it lasted.

Bread and circuses can only go so far as being a problem though. Most people find politics to be depressing and a waste of time. Whether they are correct...well they aren't, but they are right about one thing. Politics IS depressing. I don't want to spend my entire life fighting corruption, because no matter who you send to jail, another bastard will take their place. Recreation and participation should be taken hand in hand.

my polish friend says that they think of americans as fat and lazy and russians as animals. they are afraid of black people because they are always portrayal as hooligans on the tv. they are very religious in poland. poland has lots of thieves too.

I'm from Polish. I used to think of Americans as the most free nation in the world, now I do not think so. Your government is behaving like the world police, so do not be surprised that people in the world mainly hate you. (who like police?) I sad Polish but now we are a part of the EU. We replaced the Soviet Union after 19 years with the European union of socialist republics. The worst thing is that we did it "voluntarily". i am big fan of free state project (check in google).

@sebek23b That is true about America being the world's police (conqueror?) I just wish more people would mention the EU like you did. Other countries point their fingers at the U.S., but then their governments disarm their citizens and push things like the EU through. Watching the EU parliament is like watching the U.S. Congress of the past few years. You can just see the arrogance and little care for "democracy."

@sebek23b You're right... the Soviet Union was replaced by the EU. haha. I never thought of it that way because I'm from Germany (West), so there was no influence of the USSR but it's true. I'm not too fond of the EU, I'm all for national indepedence, kind of like nationalism, but not the aggressive kind of nationalism where you hate other countries. I think it's good to love your own country without hating the other ones. Let Poland be Poland and Germany be Germany. That's it.

As far as DEMCAD2, I would like you to secretary film interviews you go on. I want to see you do covert filming of Government employees sleeping on the Job and more Kicks, Jumps, Bikes, Basketball and soon Van trips.
With a Van like that you can start a Lawn Business/Snow Maintenance... That is what I do. I have a jeep and trailer. Its cash and I have no boss and I keep time by the day not the hour.

My impression of USA is that its a passive population that constantly talk shit about all the unjust that is going on in their country without doing shit about it. The only time anyone has something to say, is when religous values are at stake, then its almost a pure witch hunt. It also irritates me how little the general population in America know about the "outside world" and even their own politics. I would even go as far as characterize some Americans as sheep. Theyre nice people though...

Also the goverment here dosent stand for what it was origainaly made to do, it doesnt serve its people it surves it self

Demcad, i took a trip to Greece a few years ago, and no one was overtly rude to me, but I did witness the girl behind me get her change actually tossed back at her, and the man in the kiosk said "I hate Americans". Our tour guide went OFF and threatened the man she was gonna call the tourism police! She said tourism made their economy and he couldn't afford to do that. I get the impression that we Americans are resented around the world, maybe we have a sense of entitlement that bugs others.

@Plum369 also on the same trip, a vendor told one of us how his wife and kids were in the US, he loved the US and was working on joining them there. So, I suppose we shouldn't say EVERYONE around the world resent/dislike us, but I think enough do that its generally the vibe. I was certainly conscious of that perception of Americans.

The American system is supposed to be run by the BOTTOM up. Not from the top down. Right? Also I believe Americans are one of the MOST caring and giving people. The "people" as individuals. As as a Canadian we expect AMERICANS to know more about Canada. Which is pathetic because as Canadians we know very little about say Mexico. As a Canadian I believe we are too hard on the Americans. We show no respect at all.

International viewer here. Americans see the world as revolving around them, which is only an illusion. There are many many good and intelligent free thinkers, but by and large most are highly manipulated by propaganda and their own weakness responds in mass Stockholm syndrome.

I'm Canadian but I lived in California for 17 years and in New Hampshire for 4 years, my experience is that most Americans are pretty cool people. The Government on the other hand...
Americans suffer on an international level mainly because of foreign policy, the other part is culture clash, America has a "big" philosophy, the rest of the world is a little more economical and this shows in the oddest areas.

I hate the American military, political and religious institutions. The American people I have met and talked with on a personal level, I love and have respect for. But as with any place, or country I don't think America is an exception in this, there is a huge amount of pardon moi francais..stupid FACKS, who don't have a clue and seem to have no soul or any drive to change things. I always watch ya vids and I don't look at you as an american I see you as a strong smart person

As soon as the economy begins to really recover oil will have to go up cause consumption will increase. With so many people homeless and out of work demand is way down heaven forbid we take the bait and start to widen interstates and the like. We need to invest in quality public transport that will work for the daily commuter. Right now public transportation is unpopular but when fuel does spike and we need it we better have it or we will grind to a halt.

As a Canadian, I see the American population as being very arrogant and self centered. It almost seems like most of the American population is somewhat deliberately put into this imaginary box that seems to always be crashing around them. Think of it as putting the mind of the average American in this box. The box gives them comfort, happiness, self control and pride of being American. It seems to be a very delicate mind. If you try and make them think outside this box, you're asking for it.

@Milts577 As an American, I tried to wake up my friends and family for the last two years. People do get very depressed when someone chips away at their little box. Although I've found some really cool people who get it, most people will live their lives blindfolded until it's too late. When reality finally intrudes, they will face major depression as they are forced to confront the collapse. Many will not be able to make sense of it, since many of them don't know how to do any research.

if oil goes above 100 dollars a barrel what is left of the US economy is toast....no way people can absorb higher energy bills with out cutting EVERY thing else including medical expenditures....people have already adjusted most of the slack out of the budgets...double gasoline and heating bills and see what happens......

@centervilletn Exactly, at $4.00 a gallon for gas, I figured out how to drive as little as possible. At $5.00 a gallon, Americans are going to be pissed, not to mention, there are going to be massive layoffs as the economy comes to a standstill.

Our government has been overrun by corrupt traitors, that is very true and you will hear no argument from me, but look at the percentage of money given to the United Nations from Americans and then look at what the rest of the world contributes. Who is first to send aid to countries that have suffered a catastrophe...guess we're not arrogant when it serves the needs of foreign countries
