Not massively impressed with this clip- it's good don't get me wrong- but I can't imagine I'll be humming it to myself. It sounds a bit cheesy, more like the Sonic 1, rather than the more serious music of S&K (like Sandopolis 2 or Flying Battery.) That said, I'm glad they got rid of the cheesy guitar riffs and *shudder* vocal tracks.

Keep in mind this will be music for the first zone probably and the first zone has often had upbeat and catchy music. Besides you say you won't be humming it, you'd be surprised how often that statement back fires.

No one has forgotten it, it's freakin classic. but I don't think they are using the old intro. They stopped using that after Sonic 2. Just like they changed the "stage clear" music after Sonic 2. Besides, Zone music has a tendency to loop, not just end abruptly like this does. If it was a snippet of Zone music, it would have just faded out. It doesn't even sound like Zone music. Now, I expect the "Stage Clear" music from Sonic 3 on... Since that's what they've used the most.

Think about it, the cycle included new characters appear and gameplay looks to be the same old. This has gotten rid of the3D gameplay entirely and hasn't got any new characters. This is the first game, in my opinion, that will break the Sonic cycle.

Apparently it accepts Genesis cartridges, but most people I know still have a working Genesis... and I can't imagine the inbuilt motion-controlled games are going to challenge what the Wii has to offer.
