  • Obama creates and passes policy, with a snap of his fingers? The house and the senate submit to his every whim? So then, a woman (not born with beauty or family money) should pay the same percentage of her paycheck as (for example) her employer pays for shoes? And my thinking makes me a liberal socialist. For crying out loud, are you really ok with GE paying 0?

  • The super rich will increase the prices of goods sold to the poor... Then the poor won't buy goods as often... Then the super rich won't make as much money... Then the gov't will get less money in tax revenue... Then they will claim that we need to tax more... Then the super rich will just leave to a country that has lower taxes. This isn't partisan, this is logic! If trickle down doesn't work, how can trickle down through the gov't work?

  • if your heart says to help the poor them why don't you do it? why do you need the government to force it. and by the way christians and republicans donate more to charity then liberals do.

  • Poster, first you have to understand the only way the government can take money is litterally at the point of a gun. Also, by mear happenstace of birth does NOT create an obligation from one citizen to another. If you think wealthy or well off Americans should take care of the less fortunate, you are infact an advocate of slavery where the poor are the masters and the rich the servents and teh government through its laws are the slave traders..

  • The government is not a charity and even if it was, it cannot accomplish charitable works without taking money from people by force or threat of force. The government, of itself, does not produce wealth. It can only redistribute it and in a way that allocates capital away from productive channels, which is what creates new wealth. It's not that we lack compassion for the poor, but the government is a poor means of re-allocating wealth.

  • Here's what's logical: If you says it's not right for those less fortunate than you to do without, why not give them your money directly? Why are you looking for the government to do that for you and also take from others to do that as well? Look at what the government spends money on in terms of what it takes from you in taxes. Where does the lion's share go? Not to the poor, not by a long shot. Excluding Social Security, which people pay into. The lion's share goes to military spending. (more)

  • If you want to help the "less fortunate" then do it by giving to charity. That is YOUR choice. It is not the legitimate role of government to engage in charity, and it is certainly not a legitimate role for it to force me to engage in charity. Equality under the law demands an equal tax rate, And, you don't make taxation policy with your "heart". You do with charity, and your own money, not with someone else's.

  • tax the people who make the money and give to the leechs

    tell the poor to work

tax the rich less more jobs

    more jobs less poor

    less poor less leechs

    capitalism bitch

  • @failurbanik I'm going to use this on other threads if you don't mind... Well said!

  • @you831able thanks

  • Tax the poor and feed the rich......to hell with the poor, its their own fault they are poor...deal with it

  • THEY WONT PAY MORE WITH HIGHER RATES!!!! God, get that through you little minds. The rich have options us "average" peopld don't. When you attack their money they can pick up their businesses and bank accounts and move them to where the US govt can't touch them. Look at GE this past year.

It's like ONE store (US) raising it's prices (Taxes) to make more money when there are 50 other stores that have cheaper prices ( ie..China, Thailand, etc..)

Which stores will the Rich buy from?

  • One could argue that a fixed-dollar tax per person is the fairest. Like splitting the cost of a lunch. No one asks who makes how much. We say the bill is $50, there's five of us, that's $10 each. A proportional income tax is more practically workable but somewhat less fair. A tax rate that increases with income is inherently unfair, but most people don't mind because they're not the ones paying! That's the problem with taxing the rich even harder. It's spiteful and unjust.

  • Leave the rich Kill the poor :D

  • @Kragicz lol. those poor are wasting our rich air.

  • The only true religion of a conservative is hypocrisy. The quicker we figure that out the quicker we can get them out of office and start to put this country back on track.

  • @BramSLI1 just like your communist buddies on the other side

  • "It doesn't make sense in my heart" is just a way for people who can't make a logical argument to say what they hoped was true as though the hope is a sufficient replacement for reality, even though their minds are assuring them it isn't true.

  • How about we eat the rich, use the poor as a dessert topping, and have the middle class, do the dishes.

  • "I don't mind pitching in more to help my fellow man"

The welfare state has been growing for decades. It's not helping the poor.

Google: "Confronting the Unsustainable Growth of Welfare Entitlements Heritage "

  • ok if I am broke I know I need to stop spending unless of corse I can spend someone elses money. ... If you are spending someone elses money to begin with why would you care if you were broke or in debt as long as you can still get everything you want? ... If you can print your own money WELL WHO CARES WHAT YOU SPEND YOU CAN BUY EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE YOU WANT TO.

  • Here, let me spell it out for you Ms. Resident:

    go to.youtubedotcom/watch?v=JY8LKII_MNA

  • Is somebody stopping her from writing a check to the IRS right NOW?

We could take all the income from each and every person making more that $250,ooo and it would not come close to paying off the budget. 100% taxation won't do it!!!!!

  • Let's tax the crap out of the owner of the company you work for... until you get laid off. Then what? The majority of the stealing, selfish and jealous people who just want to punish those who have accomplished more than they have.... don't actually PAY any taxes.

  • how about taxing people on what they consume, not by how hard they work? take away income tax, increase sales tax. that way EVERYONE pays taxes. if you cannot affored .20% tax on a new tv you have no business buying the tv in the first place. people should get their heads out of their asses and see what s truly "fair".

  • retard

  • You can pay more, why do you want to make me pay more???

  • Really? Well fellow American, fyi if you are part of the 99% in America then you're in the 1% of the World. I implore your enthusiasm, but where are your numbers to back your heart driven ideas? Here are mine - U.S. Tax revenue - $2,1 trillion. Fed budget for 2011 $3,82 trillion ($1,65 trillion of new debt). National debt of $14,2 trillion. You could tax every dam living organism in America and it wouldn't cover 1 YEAR of Gov. spending...

  • If you don't mind giving your money to poor people and you'd like to "pitch in", then do just that! Why rely on the government to do this? Do it yourself! Start a charity, organize, rally large groups of people with money that want to help! This is not the government's job. Quit being lazy and put your money where your mouth is. Lead by example.

I am not Christian nor am I particularly patriotic. I'm also not a republican and certainly not rich.

  • @chromo48 Well put. I wish that everyone that says "I am willing to give a little more to help out," would just do it. I don't think that every dollar with a charitable destination has to go through the government bureaucracy filter and come out as a dime. Start a homeless shelter, feed the poor, or administer to the sick. Better yet, help someone update their resume and increase their value in the workplace so they don't need any additional assistance.

  • Try this young lady. When you take money from the rich over and above what you do from the other Americans...you are STEALING! Rich or poor is just a figure that the government designates for the purpose of extorting from one group of people to by votes of another group of people. The "poor" people of America are ten times betteroff from the poor of other nations. Ole Rev Ike once saidthe best thing you can do for the poor is not be one of them. There is a lot of truth to that.

  • If you make more, you already pay more even when paying the same percent! You socialist need to realize it's not your place to decide what should or shouldn't be done with my money. I worked for it not you, and if I want to help people I can decide to help them without the government being involved.

  • The problem with this mentality is that it's simply not a Christian thing to do. If she would carefully read her bible she'll see that Christ asked everyone to give him all of their money so that he could deliver it safely into the hands of the poor. Maybe I'm off a little. Maybe Christ asked everybody to give to the church and the church would distribute it evenly among the poor. There's nothing Christian about giving our money to the government to redistribute. "Render to Caesar..."

  • @jskpoulsbo1 yeah, the church has been doing a great work distributing money to the poor. That's why the church holds the second largest treasure in the world and preaches to give our money to the poor.

  • If this lady has no problem telling us that she is so noble because she wants to pay more in taxes, then why doesn't she admit that she donates regularly to charity if she so desires to help the poor? I'm waiting for a response....

Helping our fellow man in this country has to be voluntary in order for it to have any positive impact on society. The gov't shouldn't be a middleman or a steward. We are our own stewards here. At least we 'should' be.

  • I work 80 hrs per week now as a small business owner. I would love to hire smart hard working people to help me expand and grow. The trouble is I can't find them! I am so tired of trying to train people totally unprepared to work at a real job. They can't get themselves to work, they haven't the motivation to get a drivers lic., they find every little excuse they can to take time off without advance notice. What am I suppose to do now?! Work 100 per week so lazy bums get free healthcare?

  • Look, the US is not Sweden! Get off your ass and work/create/invent if you want to be successful and "super rich!" I cannot stand you hands-out-good-for-nothing-lefties who have not got the slightest clue about the real problem you face in your unsuccessful lives. You do not work hard enough you lazy assholes and therefor, you do not enjoy the same wealth as those who do!!

  • @880pDub so everyone who is on welfare is a lazy person that doesn't do anything o.O

oh so people who are disabled just lazy?

  • How about if the lazy-assed gimmicrat liberals get off there asses and EARN their own living like the so-called rich?

    Your an idiot miss "Resident"

  • @1662gizmo Learn grammar before you rant, please.

It is "their"(possessive) not "there" (positional), and it "You're" (contraction, state of being) not "Your" (possessive, belonging to)

  • @lptull answer the argument dont critique it dumbass.

  • @Jenga18260

I reject your proposition that intelligent speech is not required for argument.

    2. I agree with the propositions gizmo asserts, I just reject the intellectual paucity with which it was approached.

    3. Dumbass? Really? Fetid mouth-breather, go flagellate yourself!

  • @Jenga18260 It is symbolic of the flaws in your thinking that you have such obvious flaws in your language. Words have meaning, power, and beauty when used correctly. Why should I bother with your argument when you can't speak correctly? Go back to school, learn basic grammar and logic, then re-examine the topic.

  • @lptull Im sorry I dont talk like a fucking computer. I talk like a normal human being talks, stupid bitch.

  • see the youtube video entitled:

Excellent Video on the Tax-the-Rich Mentality

  • See the Iowa Hawk video entitled:

    Tax-the-Rich Mentality

Put that title in YouTube and watch it if you have the guts!

  • I believe you get what you earn. if you want to help out the poor then do it by choice not by force. and if you want to tax the rich brilliant! That way when they jack up their prices to get what they lost we can feel good about ourselves that we helped screw ourselves over. see it doesnt help out because if that bring their prices up $5 and we get an extra $5 then nothing is changing therefore its usless and shouldnt be a discussion topic.

  • You couldn't tax the "super rich" even if you try, because their respective fortunes are safely harbored in corporations and tax-exempt 501's.

A common problem with people who think with their "hearts" is that they don't understand how the tax system works.

  • Rich is a relative term. Thieves think anyone who has what they don't is rich. Donal Trump thinks Bill Gates is rich. Mostly the tax the rich proponents are the welfare rat sector of society who think they are owed something. Here in America you have the right to become more, on your own merit, not by robbing those who have chosen to be more on their own. Wanna know the answer to Americas problem with money, SPEND LESS you morons. Stop thinking of ways to rob others of what they have earned.

  • I guess I ask why I need the government to help me pay for the less fortunate. Your assumption is that the "super rich" would not help those in need and the only way is through government intervention. Wow, how stupid is that. All you do when you create more taxes is create more political power for those who want to be elected.

  • This is really stupid -- and talk about PLATITUDES! It doesn't mean those with more do not care. They just know that the Govt. isn't the way to take care of people.

I invite all liberals to pay more tax and have a lower lifestyle -- older car, smaller house, less food -- so their wealth can be spread. If they don't they are just hypocrites. But I repeat myself.

  • I had 2 children because that's all I could afford to take proper care of. Why should I subsidize YOUR 9 children. And everytime I drive past the welfare office the people there are 300 pounds. I'm quite sure they're not going hungry. And have you ever been behind someone using gov't assistance in the store? They're not buying milk or bread or lunchmeat. They're buying red hot cheetos, strawberry milk, even lottery tickets ( witnessed it myself). Gov't assistance has become a handout to slackers

  • the rich are paying enough, the federal share of taxes they pay already exceeds the share of the income they take home. and the super rich are NOT THE SAME PEOPLE over time. new rich people make it to the top all the time, you're just setting up a bad incentive system and minimizing the investments rich make, destroying mobility for the poor. taxing the rich more and the poor less gives you more poor people and less rich people, just like we tax cigarettes more and items we encourage less.

  • start making the people on welfare be accountable, then I can get behind this. I know way too many people who get food stamps and free rent, while spending what little they have on beer and partying. It's sickening.

  • Fuck this bitch... 50% of the US doesnt pay income taxes to the Federal government... I say we have 1/2 way there... Just need to get the rest from being taxed.

  • Taxing rich people won't do a fucking thing towards the debt.

Maybe 2 trillion over 10 years.

Sorry but you have to cut entitlements, DRAMATICALLY eliminate government programs and stop fighting wars.

    .

  • i wish obama could have stuck to his guns for the sake of the economy and i really wish the repub. would stop blaming obama for there own handywork..... america needs to stop being so corrupt ..... YOUR DROWNING WAKE THE FUCK UP

  • Dear Mr. Johnt4jc: It appears that your brilliant response to my post has been removed from this website. That's too bad because your response said everything about the nature of your personality. I would suggest that you "get a life" but suspect it is already far too late for that to happen.

  • ~ A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.

    ~ Thomas Jefferson

  • @Johnt4jc That's really cool. You realize writing "FUCK the RICH to the Fucking CORE" does absolutely nothing to help your hilariously simplistic cause, right? It makes you look - you guessed it! - immature. If going full force for you is using the f-word fifty times, you may want to revise your battle plan.

I don't care if you think "the rich control all." That's annoying, conspiratorial bullshit that naive, wannabe-activists like you WANT to be true so you have something to complain about.

  • @Johnt4jc Wow. Mature response. Believe it or not (I don't really care), I'm not rich. I just believe in personal responsibility and not shifting the burden to another so I don't have to do anything. I know that's a foreign concept to you.

P.S. Perverted? You're the one whose only upload has three half-naked anime girls on it...And don't say my videos are dumb. They're supposed to be. You've also made it abundantly clear that you have no comeback. That's why you resort to childish name-calling.

  • It is not the government's place to be "nice". We have a serious debt problem in this country brought about by irresponsible spending. Almost half of this country is not engaged in that debate because they have no income tax liabiltiy & many get free income from the other 1/2 that pays & vote to keep it that way. If we cannot get everyone to pay an equal % of all income, then I propose an equal % increase on everyone. Then everyone would hold our politicians accountable for future spending.

  • @Johnt4jc How generous of you!

  • You're cute but you don't really have a clue. American's already support via their taxes and charities an incredible number of good causes that benefit this country and the world. That is the 50% of Americans who actually pay any income taxes. There is something fundamentally wrong when those that work hard and are successful are penalized while the unproductive get a free ride.

  • God I hate it when people bring up the "Isn't it the Christian thing to do to help the poor?" thing. Yeah. Yourself. The Bible doesn't say "Yeah, Vote for higher taxes cuz the government's real good at that kind of stuff. Don't do it yourself ever" It says, "For you should generously open your hand to him and by all means lend him on pledge as much as he needs". Yeah. The Bible says poor people should pay the money back. We're being nicer than the Bible asks us to be. Happy?

  • @MacWillyFortunes

"...I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:23-24, Mark 10:24-25, and Luke 18:24-25.

  • @TheThordir I don't see anything about shifting the responsibility of helping poor people to the government and the rich.

  • Taxpayers who rank in the top 50 percent of taxpayers by income pay virtually all individual income taxes. In all years since 1990, taxpayers in this group have paid over 94 percent of all individual income taxes. In 2000, 2001, and 2002, this group paid over 96 percent of the total.

  • We do all pay different tax percentages based on income and situation. Making more responsible people pay to help less responsible people is not doing them any favors. They need jobs and paradoxically the rich are very good at job creation. Why you may ask? Because they would invest the cash in their business that has proven to work and thus get more jobs. What's the point of working if you can't be rewarded for it?

  • If YOU want to help out your fellow Americans, if YOU think its important to help those less fortunate. Then YOU should help those less fortunate. Don't sit around waiting for someone to make you do it. There is nothing charitable about forcibly reaching into another person's pocket, no matter how honorable the cause.

  • "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. "

    Galatians 6:2

  • You're not entitled to Rich peoples money. That's all.

  • BOORTZ

  • @Johnt4jc

For those of you that don't mind paying " a little more" just go ahead and donate it to the irs. That would solve the problem overnight because we all know how generous liberals are when it comes to their own money.

  • NO TAXING THE RICH. Stop thinking with your heart. Thats why we are so screwed. With all this stupid good intentions crap

And no I am not some bible thumping idiot or anything like this bitch says. I am Mexican working hard and I believe in small government.

  • they already do and always have taxed the rich more. the top 20% of earners pay 70% of all the taxes in America and the bottom 50% pay none whatsoever, infact ,many in the bottom percentile receive profit from the taxcode and for some reason they still are bottom feeders waiting for the next handout. i'm not in the top 20% but my boss is and so is yours. before i get the usual " get your news from somewhere other than fox" all these figures can be found at the cbo website.

  • You do realize that if everyone that makes over $250,000 a year payed 100% taxes, that we would still be a bankrupt country? Collecting 100% taxes and spending 500% does not work. $20 billion went to Pakistan in aid (just one of many countries we give money to that dislike us). How many emergency room visits for the single mother whose child got very sick in the middle of the night would that 20 billion pay for? The brain controls your body. The heart pumps blood. Stick with your brain.

  • It's not a matter of not wanting to help out the poor. It's a matter of not wanting the government to have that kind of power. That's EXACTLY how the Russians fell into a bondage of communism. They were told they were doing a good thing by punishing the capitalists. But all they ended up doing was giving all the wealth and power to the communist elitists and more than 200 million people were killed as a result.

  • If you don't mind paying a little more then that's great - you have the FREEDOM to give all your money away should you choose. The point at which you make it law for others to pay above and beyond their fair share is the day we open the door for any majority to take from whoever and whatever - money is not the only thing in life that can be taken from you.

  • @98DevilDog79 "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. "

    Galatians 6:2

  • You forgot that the government wastes a ton of money fighting pointless wars, useless bureaucracies, and the privately owned federal reserve. People who have the ability to help their fellow Americans should do so privately through charities that actually care about helping people instead of a bunch of idiots who just want to get reelected.

  • Why can't pro-tax people see that their money much more efficiently helps the poor when we cut out the government middle man and give it ourselves? Eliminate almost all taxes and give the money to whomever you want, be it a Christian charity or Planned Parenthood. The great part is you get to make the choice!

  • Why should I help the poor through the United States Government, who cannot manage their own budget and social security money ?

  • As a Christian, I would rather help the needy, through my church. Rather than being forced to give to the goverment to redistribute to the poor as they see fit.

  • @drspockwa As they see fit equates to public schools, summer meal programs, unemployment benefits, food stamps, healthcare and health initiative programs. I don't think our local church can accomplish these things on their own. And as a Christian, I understand that people everywhere need help from time to time and my local church doesn't reach "everywhere". I understand that the government misappropriates funds all of the time, but we do know many of the health and welfare benefits are received.

  • Churches are much more efficient when it comes to helping the needy, rather than the failed/unfunded "redistribution of wealth systems" that the government has in place (e.g. welfare, medicade, etc.). So don't try to fix something that isn't broke! (Why can't the government get this concept?) Do you not realize that the top 50% in America already pays over 95% of the taxes, taxes that go to pay for these redistribution programs that don't cost the poorest in America a thing!

  • Why don't you pitch in through private charity, rather than having the government steel more of your money!!?!?!?

    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  • @TimeWarp66 Do you think there would be tons of charitable donations without incentives? I mean the super rich give to charity for the tax write offs. Plus we Americans are known for our varying ideologies. This creates a situation in which we only give to charities that support what we think should be supported. Meaning individuals falling under those specific needs will benefit from our donations while others will not. Government fund dispersal is indifferent, and it should be.

  • @raventakayama

Most rich people give their money to charity when they die, or invest it in their companies, creating new jobs for poor people, lifting them out of poverty.

"Government fund dispersal" doesn't work, because when you spend other people's money on other people, fraud is rampant. Look at welfare, medicare, and unemployment. Over 10% fraud in each program. That's insane. Private charities are far more efficient at getting the money to the people who really need it.

  • @Time Plenty of the richest Americans give tons of money to charities many of which are their own charities funding a cause that reflects them. Like urban artists creating anti gang programs and such. But they get tax writes-offs in return. Plus when the very rich provide jobs its usually at a low wage level such as retail. Those wages aren't pulling anyone out of poverty especially when you compare the cost of living with their salaries.

  • @raventakayama

You should get a tax break for giving to charity, why should the government get that money?

The alternative is people strung out on welfare???

Both low and high skilled wage jobs are created. And cost of living increases are generally created by inflation through government policy.

  • @Time I'm not saying they shouldn't get tax breaks for charitable donation. But coupling that break with even more tax breaks is crazy. And I know plenty of people who have worked their way off of welfare. These people used what the government gave them and now their off the program and doing well for themselves. Those types of people do exists in great abundance.... Sorry gotta use two boxes... continue

  • @Time (continue) And yes high wage jobs are created as well HOWEVER, the people who are capable of getting those jobs are the people who could either afford college, got scholarships, or are in massive debt due to college. It still doesn't help lower class individuals who probably couldn't afford college and didn't have well enough credit to get loans. Plus the college students are often forced to go into corporate level jobs to pay off the cost of college, which means less public service jobs.

  • @raventakayama

    1) The high cost of tuition is due to government provided student loans.

    2) Many people who begin their careers at lower-level jobs, work their way up to more productive higher paying jobs without college degrees.

    3) "Public service jobs"? You mean government jobs and ridiculous pension plans that are bankrupting the country? Yeah, we could sure use more of those.

  • @Time Uh no the government loans are the best loans to get. Take it from someone who knows a little something about that personally. Private load offices have the highest interest and the most hidden fees. Its a common known fact. You don't get Sally May or Fanny May or whatever else. You get gov loans, gov grants, apply for gov based scholarships and so on. And MANY people do move up from lower levels but MOST do not. The greater good my friend. Public service jobs don't have to be gov jobs man

  • Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad." You learn why the "poor" are doomed and the "rich" will always be rich.

  • Why don't you talk about WHERE the taxpayers' money is being spent or who is checking where the money is going?

  • Comment removed

  • Conservatives donate more to charity than liberals; Religious people donate more than non-religious people. And this is true across all income levels, i.e., rich conservatives give more than rich liberals; poor religious people give more than poor non-religious poeple. This is true, even if you don't count money given to churches, synagogues, etc. Just sayin' --maybe your brain's right on this one; impose flat tax, get rid of deductions, and let people -not government-spend the money. :)

  • the poor are not lazy bums, they are the hardest working people in america, always have been. the lazy bums are heads, ceos of corporations that get rich off watching other people work hard while seeking to pay us as little as possible.

  • ARE WE TO PREY UPON EACH OTHER ALWAYS?

  • Maybe we should consider that our fortunes were created on the backs of the working poor whom without we would have nothing. Perhaps we should consider that by our actions we've robbed the working poor and our government thru devaluation of the dollar to such a degree that the median value of present day earnings is but 1/6th of what it was in 1962. The remaining 5/6ths being absorbed by Corp. coffers in the form of record profits.

  • How about this slogan: feed the poor but only do so if they agree to sterlization. The "poor" are always the same group of people; they have many illegitimate kids that they cannot pay for. Why should we have to bear the burden of paying for these life choices over and over? "Being nice" is a two way street; it is mutual. What will the "poor" do in exchange? In your leftist, socialist mind, they are to do nothing but soak up the cash.

  • @Blndrfist You know what they say. The rich gets richer and the poor gets children.

  • Let's talk about this - the Constitution. Redistribution of wealth, like all social liberal thinking refuses to even consider the moral hazard involved in stealing. Regardless of whether you are rich or poor or somewhere in between, trying to justify stealing based upon some obscure philosophy that blames some people for the short-comings of others is morally corrupt. What you are suggesting is that it's alright to be poor because the gov will always bail you out. That's just wrong.

  • We should have a 10% flat tax. The more money you make the more you pay in taxes. The less money you make the less you pay in taxes. That is FAIR.

For example: If a person makes $20,000 they would pay $2,000 in taxes. If somone makes $200,000 they pay $20,000 in taxes. If they make $2,000,000 they pay $200,000 in taxes.

    -

    -

    That is FAIR.

  • @angryamerican The more money you make, the more you pay. The less money you make, the less you pay.

    Is certainly fair.

  • This is really admirable. :)

  • It's funny how liberals are always trying to help the poor, when conservatives donate on average 30% more than their liberal counterparts. So basically, liberals want to help the poor, they just want other people to do it for them.

  • @hamito31 Where did you get that 30% number? Please list sources. Thanks.

  • @kepstein8888 I found it at Real Clear Politics dot com -- just google "liberal versus conservative donations".

  • I think it's funny that those most against tax based on income are those with low incomes who would generally benefit more, while those of us in the middle class are normally not too worried about paying a little more. Why is it the super poor and super rich that get so up in arms about it? Maybe it's because the super rich target the super poor with their propaganda, while most of them have summer homes in Europe and the tropics.

  • @ericDouglace I have no idea about the US one *shrugs*

And I wouldn't accuse the US constitution of being fair either...

Thing is, on this side of the pound people have agreed to work together to help those less fortunate then us.

And the government isn't isn't a god like entity.

It's simply people like you and me entrusted by you and me to funnel your and mine effort into the things we want done that require more then one person.

In a money economy that's done with money instead of labour.

  • no @patriotwatch it isnt' the dumbest comment you ever read. after all, you have typed dumberor ones. i stand by the resident on this one.

  • It is a statistical FACT that conservatives give more time and money to charity. PERIOD. Liberals take. Conservatives GIVE. NO debate here.

Not one mention of STOP SPENDING

It's not about SUPER rich it is about jobs and people being FREE to spend their own money.

Im conservative and PROUD but not as PROUD as being a christian.

  • @PatriotWatchUSA You're an incredible fool, stuck in the past. It's not about lef/right anymore ffs. It's about the corporations vs humanity, the common people vs the super rich. You need to meditate and free your mind. You're just a puppet if you can't wake up. I recommend you watch Zeitgeist Addendum. You can find it on youtube. Chances are very high you can't comprehend it anyway, but still ...

  • @PatriotWatchUSA Facts, facts, facts. Absolute facts don't exist you fucking shill!!! Your mind creates facts. Same as how religion people believe their beliefs are facts, while everyone else knows how ridiculous they sound. You are no patriot. A true patriot would attack the rich as they are the source of all our problems. Jesus Christ would! They mess up our economies by scheming things behind the scenes. Free market capitalism only reinforces their greed. They don't want things to change.

  • @PatriotWatchUSA And yes, freedom needs to be regarded as first priority. But you do understand that by allowing super rich people to exist, causes the economy to shift to the super rich, and this effect causes the common people to loose wealth which gets given to the rich. So we can conclude that by allowing super rich to exist, we are unknowingly taking our own freedoms away. This gets worse and worse. The common people (you too) get poorer and poorer and the rich get richer and richer.

  • @PatriotWatchUSA

State your source(s) for your "facts"please.

Stop spending all together ? Great idea...

It is about the super rich because they have the majority of the wealth in this country and should be taxed more to make sure their patriotism trickles down to the rest of the country, they'll be just fine and still be free.

Good for you on sticking to your labels and rejecting any debate ...

  • You can take ALL your money and give it to who you want. YOU should NOT be offering my money up for your cause. THAT IS Not being free

  • yes, it's fair to tax the rich more. if i were rich i would want to pay more taxes. is it fair for the richest people to starve the poor to death just to get a tax cut? hmm....

  • @chiefdancingostriche This is dumbest comment I have read all day

  • The Government has no right to bias. We are a charitable nation. The private sector will support our poor. The government needs to butt out. They've created enough of a problem w welfare. I dont know how many times I've use this quote but here it is again.

"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions"

  • @xUbastardx And that quote is a very good reason why private charity isn't to be trusted...

No I prefer the governmental charity of my own country.

  • @ericDouglace Private charity is too governed by fashion, where the ones that need the help the most (the ones that's forgotten by the media and the public opinion) get to little while the ones that need it less (the ones seen by the media and so one) get to much and are stockpiling for the bad times when they're forgotten again...

Government charity like the norwegian one is more stable overall.

  • Hum, I had the impression that she was right wing before this, now I'm not so sure :-)

Here in the nordic countries we have fairly high taxes and the government do help people out.

In fact the last four years the difference between the rich and the poor have been reduced a little here in Norway.

  • 4 people like the comment that should be titled: "How to say nothing in 200 words"

  • this idea is not new , we have this idea in the muslim comunities ,its just that we don't call it tax coz it no tax ,its charity

and thats why we dont have to pay tax

one of islam pillars is that people who have money has to pay once every year a certain percentage of there money to the people who are poor and have no money

i just wanted to share that with you guys

    thnx for the topic

  • The funny part is, if you give breaks to the Rich, they'll be more likely to want to actually pay taxes.

  • When you started saying how you wanted to think with "your heart" and not "your head", I stopped watching. That is a TERRIBLE way to run a country. Use your brain!!!

  • In the current us system, whatever it is. If you go to a dump and build a house on your land, your free time from your job, with junk from a land fill. You build a little mansion. The town will tax you out of it.

So why should the super rich pay the same tax rate. ? Logic and fairness work only for the kings.

  • I guess if you judge tax the rich, they'll just run and live elsewhere. Of course, the US will collapse into greater despair, which will force everyone into a deeper global downturn. I wonder how much richer the rich will be after that?

  • @bearmare And where should they run?

You have a big economy and a big army still as well as a lot of diplomatic weight in other ways.

You can help Europe with forcing tax havens to reduce the gap.

We can't stop them from having lower tax then us but there's a difference between low and non-existing.

  • If you live well enough that you feel you can "pitch in a little extra" then do it! Do it yourself, go give to a charity, a church or a homeless guy on the street. Give it to the Salvation Army! Do it yourself! Don't expect the government to do it for you. Don't elect politicans who say they are going to do all this stuff. You can give $10 to a homeless person and they get it all. You can have the government raise your taxes $10 and that homeless guy will be lucky to get $1 worth of it.

  • @mwe1967 That have to do with you choosing a poor government and isn't a fault in the system of having a government organizing charity.

Also you can't yourself travel around the world to help people in other nations or spend large amounts of time on figuring out who need help.

You're naive if you think that private charity is perfect.

With a governmental charity you get accountability all the way to the highest level.

  • @mwe1967 The government does it all for the rich too (helps them keep from paying taxes).

  • @mwe1967 True...but you look like kind of a douche telling everybody about how much you give to charity. Rich people advocating higher taxes on the rich is the only way to appear both generous and humble without being either.

  • @mwe1967 yeah but how about if i give money to some homeless person who takes that money and gets pissed drunk with it. the issue is a mental one with humanity, people are stuck in this mental cycle of depression not realizing that there is plenty of abundance in life. instead we all decide such lives as though there is not enough for everyone, by trying to out do the other at all costs. giving money is not the solution cause even if i gave 1 billion dollars people would still be in a rut.

  • Show us your tax return with your video for credibility...

  • to : the resident

ditch your heart and use your mind!!!!!

  • Guess the percentage of small business owners are in the 200k and higher tax bracket? Use you head and not your heart when talking taxes. If you want to pay more to the IRS, there is no one stopping you. Write all the extra checks you like if it will make you sleep better. Nighty nite....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...hahahaha

  • Tax the Rich?.....but most of the Rich have most of their money in Off shore accounts and Countries....where they DON`T have to pay TAXES for all of it!

  • If you wanna pitch in, sweetheart, no one is stopping you from writing a check for extra to the IRS.... Liberals bitch and moan, but they don't do it. Hypocrites!

  • @wolfwhite99 That they were.

  • taxes on the rich are barriers to investment; the rich don't put their money in a giant mattress, they save and invest it. The government spends taxes on reckless consumption, and in this time of economic catastrophe, we need more investment so our economy can recover and people can go back to work. the government isn't out to protect the poor, they're out to give themselves pay increases.

  • Super rich people like Bill Gates have the biggest charity foundations and given back so much money to help the less fortunates, a million times more than the amount of taxes he'll ever have to pay in his lifetime. Just recently, 57 US billionaires pledge to give away at least half of their wealth to charity in their lifetime.

So, it's not about our questionable generosity, it's about the government punishing the rich, simply because they are rich, and inequality!

  • @novazee very true, bill gates also has probably created hundreds of thousands if not millions of jobs which otherwise wouldnt be there, he's revolutionised the way we communicate, those jobs he created have created more produce and more wealth which then moves around, jobs are created to cater for these people with a better paycheck because they got a nice job as a tech guy for microsoft, which then creates more jobs, all because of one enterprising individual

  • I don't mind giving away a little bit more to help the less fortunates either! and it's called "Charity". NOT taxes.

  • The USA was already bankrupt back in 2006. Now we're completely f*cked.

For evidence, google this: FSU Editorial The United States is Insolvent

  • The fact of the matter is the poor are taken care of in this country by our government and by charities.

Another fact is CHRISTIAN Conservatives give to charity MORE than so called liberals. Do a google search for "Conservatives Charity" or "Bleeding Heart Tightwads".

Many liberals like to say how terrible America is, bitch and moan, but don't do anything about it.

Start a charity if you want to help poor people in your community.

Read the book "Rich by Choice, Poor by Habit"

  • Nothing like youtube politics to raise your blood pressure!

  • give the government more money, you get more wasteful spending. Rich folks who want to give to the government can pay more in taxes on their own. Other Rich people can give money to charity groups with out government spending it on stimulus that under performed.

  • On 9/11 the US Constitution was suspended by Bush & Cheney and replaced with totalitarian Continuity of Government (COG) plans devised by Cheney & Rumsfeld in the 1980s.

These fraudulently elected leaders orchestrated 9/11 blaming it on Muslim patsies to dismantle democracy and pursue world empire.

The USA is now technically in a state of martial law, the US military are illegally operating inside the USA, and COG has been deliberately extended by front-man Obama.

    Google: Peter Dale Scott KPFA

  • I agree with you Lori on this. There are alot of things wrong with taxes, ranging from the Rich to the very poor. But like you said you support both viewpoints. It does make sense when seeing the tax issue from a Political american viewpoint as well as from an emotional viewpoint. It gets tricky in the end. Lori keep up the great work girl i stumbled upon your show and videos on Youtube one day and have been a fan ever since.

  • Compromising is the American way after all. When you have a bunch of socialist called Democrats and Fascists called Republicans you go all American, Socialism & Fascism? Let me explain with the flowering quotes from the main of Socialism & the head fascist. (Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power)

(Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power)
