For 2011 try this one, 

cheesy dummy loco, like tyco, nice rocket with a big bang, and a parashute. it will launch off, the shute opens and holds the car on the track stopped before the end of the rail, and a KaaBooommmmm

Josh, have you noticed that some of the Athearn Auto-max cars have their couplers set high????

Yes they are. About a half knuckle high so in an incline or when pulling several cars behind them they will uncouple. I read that some guys are installing Kakee #22's that lower the knuckle height and that solves the problem. By the way, I've got my Kato Dash-9 in Alcohol.

Hm thats interesting. I havnt looking at the coupler boxes of those yet, but i dont see wht that wouldnt work. Sweet! Did all the details and handrails come off ok?

Everything came off with no problems. I'm brushing away the paint now. If ths would have been an Athearn locomotive, all the details would be in pieces. Kato is #1. Were you able to get the ditch lights alternating?  As for the Automax couplers, I checked them with a Kadee Coupler gauge and it confirmed that the couplers were half a knuckle high. I installed Kadee #42 (Same as #22 but metal) and problem solved. I have four Automax articulated cars and all had the same problem.

Great! Keep me updated as you make progress! Yeah you cant beat the Katos. I just installed a regular decoder for now. Ive heard rumors that Tsunami is going to come out with a "modern" GE sound decoder that is more prototypical for the dash 9s and ac4400s. So ime going to wait a while and if that comes out . If it does I'll put it in the dash 9 and then make the ditchlights flash. Hm thats really weird but at least you got them fixed..

Josh, when you drilled out the hole for the head light in the kato dash 9 did you leave in the numberboards or did you remove them prior to drilling the hole. It seams as their is little material up there and the hole could make things fall apart? also did you glue in the headlight housing for added strength?

Yes I removed them. I actually did it before i stripped the paint so I wouldnt loose them in the stripping process. I also took them out so the wouldnt get dammaged. If i recall they came out pretty easily. No since it was such a tight fit I didnt need to glue it. The fiber opticsi used (I used ones off a kato sd70mac and they fit perfectly) also help hold it in place. It probably wouldnt hurt to glue it.

Josh, I drilled out and filed the head light location on the upper cab area but I do not think the headlight ousing will fit without filing away what's left of the frame inside of the number boards. Did you reduce the size of the headlight housing???

Happy new year to ya. the first bachmann car, RONFLMAO. Same thing with the LV grain car. I think they let the grain dust build up in it. I think next time you do this, make another rocket car and fly it into a box car with 30 lit sparklers. Where did you get all the N scale stuff? didn't know you had it.
