  • orgazmic....

  • i wanted to hear it at WOT

  • @andreskates See video response.

  • have you had any some issues with the cobb DP? any extra smoke ?

  • @sudo624 yeah I did initially, on idle, I ended up putting in a restricting plug into the PCV opening coming off the head cover in the rear. That eliminated any smoking issues on idle.

  • @abysal311 would that also be the same plug that you would plug a oil catch can if you had one?

  • @sudo624 I believe so, the vent opening for the PCV is right towards the back of the valve head cover, and there is a hose connected to it running towards the front of the intake pipe.

  • any CEL's?

  • @mzking1980 Nope, running fine with AP stage 2 tune

  • is your DP catted?

  • @mzking1980 yeah.

  • HEy man where abouts in Wilmington do you live?I live in North East,MD. We should meet up some time. I have a 2007 MS3 nicely modded

  • @gunner429, that's cool. Yeah I'd be up for meeting up. Maybe do some runs for fun or just cruise around.

  • Holy shit dude...you live in Wilmington, DE right? I live in Belfonte....I drive a Speed 3. Fucking crazy.

  • yep :) right down the road!

  • Hey I just got my cobb dp and hks exhaust for my '08 ms3. Any tips or things I should watch out for during install?

  • Yeah couple thing to know. First be patient. The night before the install spray down ur primary and secondary o2 sensors with pb buster, then it is best to take them out when they are hot, but take ur time so you don't wack the threads. I didn't take out my primary while it was hot and stripped the thread (170 bucks I didn't need to spend). I reused my DP to CBE donut gasket and the Turbo to DP gasket; although some said it's better to use a new 1, a new one is $90, and mine looked good.

  • The gaskets do not need to be spayed with muffler joint compound, but some use it, I didn't and I don't have any leaks. The hardest part for me were the screws from the DP to Mid-pipe were seized and rusted. After struggling for several hours we had to cut them (well one of them). The DP heatshield needed to be removed for it to wiggle out of the axle. Also it was hard to get a good torque reading on the DP to turbo studs on reinstall; torque wrench was too big.

  • The stock CBE had to be cut right before the rear axle, after the resonator (looking from the center), other wise you have to drop the suspension; then you need an alignment.

I found and read several forum posts and how-to's on mazda3forums and cobbforums. This was my first major install so i wanted to be prepared, I also had a 2nd set of hands to help me :) Good luck man, PM me if you have further questions. HKS and DP are great for this car.

  • that sounds really nice.

did that makes your CEL pop out? because I just got mine, may install it next weekend

  • thnx :) no cel so far, but I'm also running ap stage 2 map, but I don't think they have anything in there to bypass cels. the only bad cel would be from the primary o2 sensor (wideband) since that is used to determine a bunch of stuff in the ecu. the secondary o2 sensor is not all that important from what I've heard. I've put on about 600 miles without major issue, I'm seeing some smoke at idle once in a while, maybe a bad turbo seal, I dunno, gotta check my cold boost tube and see if its clean.

  • what a beast,

  • Crap that sounds awesome. Sounds like a Subie.

  • Yeah that's what everyone says about the MS3 w/ HKS.
