@tomvars Wow, nobody's answered yet? If you're still wondering--yes, there are hammer-ons and pull-offs in game, but only for specified notes. It needs to detect strumming for the vast majority of things to register, much like classic Guitar Hero-styled play.

After picking up my real guitar last night, I was following this video's guitar chart with my guitar, within an hour, I could play this song. I didnt practice the solo (yet, played the 3 main chords during it) or the arpegiations (played the stright chord during it), and I got the song down. I can play this efficiantly. Just need to work on my fretting.

@SpeedOfThought7 hey man how well does actual guitar skill translate? ive been playing guitar for half my life and i never liked guitar on rb or gh because it was nothing like the real thing. i assume its gotta be pretty similar. but are there any songs that u already knew how to play on the real guitar that u could just go right into the game and play?

@TurboNeon185 I'm not Speed Of Thought, but I have the game, pro guitar and keyboard. I've played guitar on and of for a few years now, and I knew the main stuff from Smoke On The Water, which was one of the first songs I ever started learning and playing.RB3 has it, so I went in and played it. The rhythm was spot on for me, because I usually either play in standard or drop D tuning. However, Harmonix had to shorten the solo on the frets since the Mustang made by MadCatz has only 17 frets on it.

@TurboNeon185 But, there will be another Pro guitar on its way and released by early March coming up, and it will have a full set of 22 frets to use. And the game will fix the solo note charts so you can actually play the real solos. That guitar will cost $100 more, but what would you expect for a real guitar that is modified. And for a Fender, that is not bad at all for pricing.

I'm so used to watching your pro guitar videos that I've become accustomed to seeing the pro guitar charts to a point where seeing the 5 lane colored button chart is weird for me. I can't wait to get my hands on a pro guitar, and I'm more than willing to deal with the learning curve and the tutorials because I do seriously want to learn guitar and I think this game could be an excellent first step to actually playing

Only thing to improve really on these videos would be splitscreen with hands. Maybe get a capture card or second camera to record hand and gameplay simultaniously. Then upload s**tloads of gameplay. Success guaranteed.
