No that's not true. Corea is spelt Corea no matter which language you speak/write. The Japanese are the one's who changed it to Korea because they couldn't live with themselves knowing that C comes before J in English. That's true. Check it out. I remember hearing about this before the Japan/Korea world cup finals in 2002.

No, that's not true at all. The K comes from the two AMERICANS George M. McCune and Edwin O. Reischauer who came up with the standard Romanization of Korean. The Japanese had nothing to do with it.
