You obviously have not lived long enough to be able to appreciate to any extent what an extraordinary achievement this technology represents. When i was growing up all we had we had was barely audible radio, TV was still in its infancy. I would never then have in my wildest dreams imagined what is possible today, and am deeply thankful to be alive to enjoy it. Shame on you.

shall i buy a cooler für the i5-750 or is the cooler auf intel good enough?? sry my english sucks but i hope that everyone understand what i wanted to say :)
I got the P7P55D-E DELUXE Version of this looks much better than the p7p55d
and it has usb 3.0 and SATA III
I got also a i5 - 750 @XlinkK280 yes the guy at the shop told me that this is better for gaming because no game really supports the Hyperthrething(hope i spelled right)
@XlinkK280 pretty much, the only difference is hyper-threading, which is known to actually negatively impact some games because of the heating up and extra-work it has to do, other than that it's stupid to get one for a gaming rig because games don't need eight cores, let alone 4. although as i understand it a recent video game called "Battlefield : Bad Company 2" utilizes 4-core functions.
but eight cores is overkill unless you do 3D imaging, etc.
@CapitalGamer Hyperthreading allows the computer to read and use twice as many cores as you currently have. So if you have 4 PHYSICAL cores the computer reads and uses 8 cores. Which, yes, does help with multitasking but only to the extreme. What I'm saying, is when you're gaming you don't need that, therefore its overusing power and can in fact allow some games to plummet in frame rate. Not all, just some.
@XlinkK280 In a way yes. The main strength of the i7s over the i5 is that i7 has hyperthreading. However, hyperthreading is pretty much useless in games as very few games even use 4 threads. So the i5 750 will work perfectly and is a whole lot cheaper than any of the i7s
I Just finish building my Intel i5 750 High-End Gaming PC and I love the i5 CPU. Overclock it from 2.66ghz to 3.83ghz. You all can check out my video on my youtube page
I actually have the exact same setup. Lolz. I added a little bit of arctic silver 5 on the shown copper. No problems with my rig. Should be OCing it to 3.6ghz with upgraded cpu fan soon enough.
Hahaha. Nice. Yeah, I need a different cooler myself. The standard fan is just way to thin though. I think its around 3/4". But, the setup was just under $500 through microcenter. Can't complain for a decent mb, ram and cpu "package".
@EngelAzreal im in Britain, Intel and other companies seem to think £1 = $1 which is really annoying :P
im not sure which cooler to go for. im loving zalmans flower cooler, but im worried about getting anything too big and it damaging the motherboard moving it around, which will happen a fair bit.
Hahaha. Right!? Lol. Isn't the £ like always like $1.60-$2.20 for trade? Heh. Damn you Brits! Lol. But besides the annoying money exchange with companies like that are. Hahaha. Yeah, I've heard that the Zalman, and another one (a tribal name, I'll ask my buddy about it) that its name escapes me are two of the best for air cooled. I know the feeling. The bigger the better, yeah for cooling but it'll snap your MB if its too big. Some people use zipties actually. To help out the weight.
Like, they'll put a zip tie or two where (depending on the model) alcohol pipes are and zip it to the a part of the case where the power supply is mounted on. Something on the lines of a hanging brace. But in return, yeah it might look ugly if you have a huge window. If not, then its what ever. People just try and be innovative. If it works and looks alright, then gold. Lol.
@EngelAzreal im always tempted to order parts from America and get them shipped over, its ridiculous but sometimes its cheaper :P, its like $200 with $30 shipping (so roughly £150) or £200 to buy in the uk.
thats a really good idea actually, thanks for that :). if its ugly you could always just put ties on when your moving it around and take it off when its sitting still.
To be honest, if you have some Arctic Silver 5 around, I'd scrape the stock stuff off. If not, I wouldn't have much to worry about, but also depending on what your doing. If simple work and relaxed computing then should be good. If your gaming and doing somehting that uses a lot of the CPU, I'd spend a few $ on some Arctic Silver. I've used it for years, on my computers and my friends computers. Never had a problem with it. But also, its just an opinion. Ask around for more info though.
True, I've never seen a MB brace for the reverse side. They usually only come with large air cooled heatsink/fan's or with water cooling kits. My i5 box didn't come with one. Just the cpu, and the fan/heatsink.
Go have a look at anandtech bench, this i5 beats phenom 965 at basically every benchmark at stock. It also has better oc headroom percentage-wise. The only reason you would get a phenom is if it's much cheaper. The only AMD quad I would consider is x4 620, that's if I needed to encode.
because although the 5800 series is a dx11 card, not many games will use dx11 atm,...
