Its a cover, meant to not sound exactly the same. Why would anyone want to make a cover song and make it sound just like the original. A cover is supposed to be that bands version of the original. This sounds like deftones, I love this song. If deftones didnt make this cover sound like them I probably wouldnt love it.

Really nice job by Deftones - he at times sounds just like Simon. Hard to believe this song is pushing 30 years old. The Rio album to this day sounds as good as it did then. This was an underrated track back then - never heard it on the radio.

Please don't misunderstand me as I never said that Deftones were bad. When I was younger, I used to listen to songs of Garbage, the Charlatans and other alt rock artists. But then nothing can uplift your mood like a track with a good pumping BPM, and I have the first two albums of Prodigy to thank. Try listening to Leftfield when you get the chance.
