  • Gino Marchetti is my grandfather. Im Conner Marchetti. VP of Ginos, No lie ask me anything I can answer anything.

  • I knew he was off side. Yea ur right Deacon u did copy hes cheating style and to the people who says this guy and Deacon would rule the NFL today do not know football. U forget the most important thing Offensive linemen couldnt use there hands when they pass block. So all the toss linemen down wouldnt have not happen so much if the linemen could have used there hands.

  • @hailhopes I'm sure you did...do some research...

  • @hailhopes This two guys played in a much tougher NFL, much more brute and all about pure strength. Reggie white back in the 80s and 90s threw guys around just like Gino and Deacon did. Your argument is invalid.

  • A real football player...

  • Marchetti and Deacon Jones are the 2 best DE of all time...

  • Do you not see the clip at 1:33 where he takes an OT and slings him to the ground like he was shaking a chihuahua off his leg? With all respect, if he had today's training regimen, supplements, etc., he would still be dominant. The guy revolutionized the DE position. He was the first defensive player that offenses had to account for on passing plays.

  • He was in the Battle Of The Bulge when he was 17-18 years old...so playing the Giants on Sunday was nothing...he'd kick ass today...

  • Rugby is better

  • Lol

  • The Prototype... He invented the modern DE position..

  • gino should be #2 on this list

  • Best DE who ever played!!!

  • Give him 12 seasons in today's 16 game, pass happy NFL, and Gino would have had 240 sacks.

  • @jerichotpkbandit

At his size and build? Sorry but "today" Gina Marchetti wouldn't even make the cut on a team.

See back then a flabby uncut guy like that could make a name for himself out of sheer determination and will.

  • @Reclaimer77 : True, but today he will be bigger, with all the nutrition stuffs and the advances in training....

  • @Reclaimer77 With Marchetti's strength and maneuverability he'd be a linebacker and he'd still have the sacks. It's that determination and will I'd want on the team. Size only gets you so far.

  • @Reclaimer77 flabby uncut guy? you are retarded

  • @jerichotpkbandit cant even say that considering todays athletes are more athletic not then then. i mean maruce jones drew can bench press 400 pounds, this guy looks like he can do about half that

  • @jerichotpkbandit not true. the NFL is a different game today. now the offensive lines are beefed up with bigger, faster, and stronger freaks of nature. even with modern strength training, i bet Marchetti would have reached his peak before a lot of the modern players. the talent these days is unmatched. there were no vernon davis' or mario williams' back in that era.

  • im actually related to gino marchetti...but im actually completly different i cant play D-end...i can block though

  • I wasnt implying that he was better than deacon. on the contrary, I think deacon was better, but marchetti was way up there.

  • question for people. marchetti or atkins?

  • I would have Gino Marchetti at #4 behind Deacon Jones, Doug Atkins & Reggie White.

  • deacon copied marchetti's style. i think that says enough about marchetti's greatness.

  • that doesnt necessarily mean marchetti is better.

But it does mean that marchetti was a revolutionary for the position

  • I saw Gino play many times between 1957 - 1962. My all time favorite.
