  • Beaux morceaux et belle interprétation

  • The pieces is in 6/8 time and the dotted quarter note bass is simply played by the thumb (bluesgurugod is correct), however, thrasher is obviously referring to the middle voice which is a consistent pattern: eighth note, 2 sixteenth notes, eighth note. Yepes suggests i-i-p-i, but it requires a "light" thumb. He also suggests playing the melody with consecutive "m" fingers with an occasional "a" finger for the sixteenth notes. Of course, including myself, come up with their own fingering.

  • I don't get the fingerpicking pattern, what fingers is he using to keep on playing those bass notes?

  • @thrasher218 he's not using his fingers for the bass - it's called a "thumb" - and there's no pattern - this isn't "dust in the wind"....

  • @bluesgurugod There's no reason to be a smartass -- He is indeed using a finger to play the bass line along with his thumb - it's called the "index" finger. The pattern is probably the one Narcisco Yepes suggests in the published score.

  • @orlandoguitarist Well it sure looks like his thumb is being used for most of the bass notes - and I can't detect any "pattern" as this is a complex piece.

  • @bluesgurugod And here I was thinking the thumb was a finger all this time.
