@BlisterOnTheMoon This was done w/ Sonar Producer 6... I've been using Cakewalk stuff since high school so I've found it hard to switch to anythign else.
Very nice. I liked the sound and the mix quite well. It's always a learning process (well for me that is). I'm working on my second solo CD project and tonight I bought the same PRS McCarty Korina. I played 8-10 different PRS but kept coming back to that one. I love it and look forward to using it in my new tunes. Take care.
Yeah, the McCarty Korina's become one of my go-to guitars in the studio (along with a G&L ASAT Classic)... it's been used for just about every solo on the album and quite a few of the rhythm tracks, too.
Never tried it for electrics... to me it's pretty bright sounding, so my gut feel is that it would be harsh for electric guitars. Does a nice job with acoustics, though.
@Chipstastegood I'm looking at mics too. The audio engineer at my old church told me the AT4040 is the mic of choice, I'm also looking at the Cascade Fathead Ribbon mic which is like the AT4040. Good for high cab SPL's and great for acoustic guitar.
I like the tune and the guitar sounds. But all the guitars sound so similar as to not really differentiate themselves from each other. That is why you are getting a mid-range growl build up. Less guitars, add other colors for a more diverse sound. Just my opinion. I could be wrong.
You're kind of close, Having that many guitars is fine, Where the improvement could come is the way he EQ'ed the guitars in the track. Automation and reverbs and delays help add body and lay a "bed" for the song. Everything sounds fairly dry, and and that overdriven guitar is a bit too muddy and loud in the mix.
This is AWESOME man!!!!!!! haha omg i am so amazed. How does the sound quality sound if you were to record distortionized guitar with the Audio Technica AT2020?
Thanks! Ever since I picked up the Mesa Studio preamp, I've used it for just about every solo I've recorded in the studio. It's definitely one of my favorite tones of all time.
thanks for this i have learned something here
