Great idea. Just hope people realize that when you switch from one thing to another, you will face another problem. Most people don't clean plastic or metal containers properly, and the inside walls can get microscratches. Bacteria will grow and hide in those cracks and promote bacterial growth.
Remember to dry clean it first after each wash. Cheers!
anyone else think this advert was a waste of 365 paper cups ? =.) unless ofcourse they still used em after ... in which case .... if your to-go-venti-quadruple-shot-7pumps-vanilla-no-foam-extra-hot-lowfat-caramel-macchiato..... with exrta caramel drizzle taste funny ... you'll know why ....
I work at a starbucks and I can assure you I have several customers who come in more than once a day, EVERY day, including christmas day and new year's (my store is open 365)
Haha. "Tumbler" is another word for travel mug. One of our older customers brings in that same tumbler from the video every day, sometimes up to 3 times a day. He orders a Caffe Mocha with light foam, whip, and mocha drizzle on top. When he receives his drink, he always gives the barista, whoever made it, the biggest smile and welcomes each first sip he drinks with a huge "Mmmm.....!"
My roommate has been turned away from Starbucks twice in the last month because her tumbler bore the logo of Starbuck's local market competitor. They literally WOULD NOT fill her tumbler. They offered so sell her a paper cup of coffee that she could then dump into the tumbler.
I still doubt it happened, but if it did... as a Starbucks employee, I would ask that if someone encountered that they contact the store manager about what happened because that is NOT what Starbucks is all about.
She was using a Tumbler from Tulleys (Starbuck's Seattle competitor). It happened the first time at the Starbucks on University Way in the U-District (Seattle), and the second time at the Starbucks on 45th NE in Wallingford (Seattle).
The corporate office and the store manager's have both been notified.
sbux is not allowed to that it is against company policy. That was one thing i hated when i did work there its basically called the just say yes policy. I would call corporate. They haft to use whatever kind of mug your bringing in and give the discount. I was a partner for five years.
....who says tumblers are specifically for hot drinks? Since paper is biodegradable, it'd be wiser to use tumblers for cold drinks since the cups are plastic. Less plastic use = less plastic produce = less waste...well...the last part, not so much.
She just wasted 365 cups in less than one day. Wow she is not being ecofriendly.

You better bring a porcelain cup, which most under age 50 would not know what one is.Plastic cups are worse than paper in the long run!

If you look closely many of the cups appear to be coffee stained. They're most likely used cups.
EJEX11 2 years ago 3
wow most of them are stained. koodoos to starbucks they actually reused cups for this commercial.

1) If Starbucks wants to save on paper cups they should stop giving them to people who are drinking IN STORE! Bring back the mugs!

I doubt this very much. Starbucks doesn't care if you bought your tumbler from, just that you're using it.
monkeymistresss 2 years ago 2
I'd say that depends on how snobby the employees of the store happen to be.

If you drink 2 cups everyday thats 730 cups.
