If I'm not mistaken, your zoomed in with the Flip on all these comparisons so that the Flip would look worse. Flip is actually much better. Hate all you want, this is coming from a true consumer and not from someone who already has Sony in their name.

SONY wins! I have both a Flip mino HD and a SONY Bloggie 3D. I had lots of fun with the Flip mino HD outside but it fails not having an auto-focus and only a fixed lens.

The SONY has an auto-focus lens and this is a must if you take video and photos seriously!. my Speed 120-Z palm cam is still better than them both at 20MP. But if you want a nice little pocket camera go for the SONY Bloggie HD range, 3D I'd recommend you can do 2D as well and take photos and the mic on the 3D version is stereo.

@ganxter23 Really depends what you want to do with it and how much storage space you have on your computer. I prefer 1080p but my computer rig and server can handle it. Between 720p and 1080p, there is a large file size difference.

@DjJusbiz It's pretty good. Especially if you film it at 720p 60FPS, then you can better slow down the shots if you need to but it can also better record fast paced movement. Would I use it for professional use? Depends on your term, all my videos are shot by it currently but beyond that, I would invest in something a little beefier.

@ShinedownFan41 ya they do still sell the flips you can get them at best buy cheapest. 49.99 for the ultra hd it uses AA batteries not a built no replacable battery .59.99 for the mino hd which is thinner and has image stabilization and can record at 60 framers per second versus the 49.99 ultras 30 frams. 60 frames means better picture on fast moving things and better if your moving fast.both record 1hr of hd. then you have the ultra hd 2 hour with stabilization and 60fps for 79.99

There is some issue with the footage of the FLIP. many areas were "hazy" or "blurred" either on right edge (that dancer-? Prince guy) or in the middle. I do NOT get that haziness with mine. Perhaps hold them separately to avoid any RF cross-interference. And make sure to clean the lens with microfiber. Good job, though, but don't agree with resultant videos on FLIP side.

WOW!! So glad i popped for the Bloggie instead of the Flip for Father's Day. I know my dad would have made me return the Flip if the quality turned out like that. The difference is INSANE, almost like a cellphone camcorder vs. a dedicated camcorder sometimes.
