  • i'm using asus Eee PC x101H, will it work?

  • its not a gaming laptop retard

  • holy !#@$%^%#$%^*&(^%$IPO#@

!*&()*%^!w`1 LIKE THAT WILL EVER !#@!#tr#@ HAPPEN ESPECIAL ON HALF LIFE IT WILL CRASH THE PROCCESOR OR BLOW IT UP IF YOU PLAY THAT!!

I AM SHOCKED HOW FAST THAT IS WOW!!!!

NO I AM REALY SHOCKED I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT!!

I HAVE THE SAME PROCCESOR !! AND IT WILL CRASH IF I EVEN PLAY

A FLASH GAME IT WILL SAY PROCCESOR OVERHEATED LOL

    BUT THAT SHOCKED ME!!

    DOOWN MY SPIN!!

  • play the game on english you nood how can´t english

  • well it has an SSD that helps a lot :P

  • i love this PC

i play mw2 on it but it has no shadow faders , which is good part coz i see everyone

  • that graphics cant do a shaders like that so this is imposible IMO...

  • It's a video and him acting to play it...

  • i have a newes asus Eee and sure it cant run any fucking game

  • Hey ive got the same graphics card, i have 1.5gig ram, and i have xp but when i run Half-Life 2 it runs like shit, could it be my processor? I have a Intel Pentium M processor 1.73GHz.

  • were could i get one with 500 or 300 or400 or 250 gb? plz tell me

  • its amazing i can run half life 2 with highest settings but not halo combat evolved highest

  • @teshains the game doesn't crash because it is an old game and it doesn't require much plus nowadays pcs are to powerful

  • sure no lag. about 4-5 frames per second

  • @ryanThornhill1 i love comments from stupid persons =)

  • @ryanThornhill1 hell, its god for a pc like that

  • @ryanThornhill1 dumb

  • man, how did you avoid game crashing : S

I cant play this game whitout getting pwned by my notebook

  • haha :D use dx7 mode

  • wut?? how you do that, explain yourself X(

  • google for it... i think you have to use "-dxlevel 70" as launch parameter

  • @multimolti Can this laptop run it on highest possible? with playable settings?

    Core 2 duo 2.00 GHZ

    4 GIG of ddr2 ram

    4500MHD with 1759 mb?

  • @AminelikesStephanie not sure, but it will run nicely on medium settings at least.

  • @multimolti Have you moded your eeepc? (added more ram or changed video card)

  • @Starioshka no

if yoou go on descriptions , it says

    System Specifications:

    Processor: Intel Celeron M 900MHz

    Memory: 1GB DDR2-400 RAM

    Graphics: Mobile Intel 915GM (64MB)

    HDD: 4GB SSD + 16GB SSD

    Operating System: Windows XP Professional

just added windows XP and off you go and play

  • @D3adUMP :O kewl!

  • @Starioshka you go to hell

  • @D3adUMP woot?

  • @AminelikesStephanie i'd say it can, but i can't be sure. i mean, the game is from 2004 (?) and valve are really good at making games run on low spec pcs.

  • @AminelikesStephanie

Yes it will run on higest with no lag i swear!

  • I have gotten this game to be "playable", but only when overclocked to 1.2Ghz and with 2gig of Ram. I might also add that I added two fans to my machine through some clever modding to prevent overheating, so don't try to go that high unless you have a cooling solution.

And only inside levels work well.

If you want an FPS for your eee pc, I suggest BF 1942. It can run full graphics on stock.Call of duty 1 also works ok and seems to lag a little in firefights. AVP2 also runs flawlessly.

  • i also made a video about COD1, its really running nicely. never tried AVP2 though...

  • AVP2 is ok, a little repetitive, but none the less a fun play.

You should check out BF1942 (and possibly BF vietnam, although I haven't played it yet)

For COD, did you just lower graphics all the way or did you do something extra like the HL2 "-console ..." stuff?

  • nice dud... now im just tryin to get tf2 to run =P lol

  • how the heck you can play this i got asus eee pc 1005ha and it's much better than that one and it lags so much when playing games even the old ones and every thing on low and -dxlevel 70 did you update something or what

  • i didnt update anything, just used dxlevel 70 and 800x600. thats it

  • I never thought HL2 would run smoothly on a netbook. I have an Acer Aspire one and this game lagged terribly when i tried it and crashed when it tried to load the next map. But i was using DX9. The AAO I got is 1.6ghz intel atom, 1gb ram, 225 mb graphics memory. All im wondering is how to uninstall DX9 from it.

  • you dont have to uninstall dx9, just force the game to use dx7. check google on that

  • i have been told how to by a friend on steam, i just don't have the space for it on my netbook now

  • Sorry if its real but it looks really fake to me.

No offence if it is real tho

  • why does it look fake? its real, how can i prove it to you?

  • I dunno, it just looks like it has been edited to me.

  • yeah its cause the game is kinda dark and the screen frame is white, makes it look weird

  • yeah

  • HIGH or low settings?

  • low and dx7

  • when spoken german the game runs much faster, lol.

  • is intel celeron m dualcore ??

  • no its not

  • okkey

  • me eee pc keeps coming up with error screen whenever a loading screen to next area of map is done. it works again when restarted but does it again at the next one. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

  • try dx7 mode

  • how???

  • what do i do??

  • Looks great! I have an asus ee pc and Half-Life 2 but i bet this drains the battery, right?

  • never tried, only played on AC power

  • never tried, only played on AC power

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why cant my laptop work like yours!!!!!!!1

    i have

    intel celeron M 1.6Gh

    1G ram

    Mobile Intel 945

    windows vista home premium!

    please reply!

  • well, it sucks... install windows xp and then set all the details to low

  • windows vista demands alot of ram, which can significantly lower ur frame rate or even cuz games to crash or not load at all. i am surprised it didnt come with xp, most netbooks do

  • well, vista takes lots of power so it isnt really good for netbooks. =S

  • windows 7 is much better for gaming right???

  • i think so... but i am not planning on upgrading. unless i find it cheap and it gives a big advantage...

  • do you think 4 gig ram . nivia geforce 256 mb .and a celeron 2.80 ghz is goof for gaming please reply.

  • this is not about other laptops, just about the eee pc

  • its good enough for games like these

  • go fuck urself how can the level load faster than my quad core system???

  • well i assume that your graphics setting is slightly higher than the one i use for my netbook.. that will also influence loading times

  • Solid State Hard Drive.

  • no, the SSD isnt fast. i checked it, will get around 40MB/sec, my SATA HDD gets 90MB/sec

  • What is wrong with you, comon sense tells you that, leave the video maker alone, he is just making a video for us to see that the game plays fine. You are a jerk and an as-hole , why even post here if you gonna insult people

  • For some reason, on my eee 900HA, at least, the first few parts of the game, before you get your crowbar, run smoothly, but it gets totally unplayable after that.

  • thats weird. try running hl2 in dx7 mode, then it will run a lot smoother

  • Yeah, I've tried dx7. The weird thing is, its even slow in those parts when I tried the ultra low config someone came up with for a geforce 2 card

  • does it have wifi, or internet built in?!?

  • yes

  • i have an intel celeron 1.6 with 512 ram Asus

I looked up my graphics card Intel GMA 900 clk:333

  • so my P.O.S. (piece of shit) laptop can run it?

    intel celeron @ 1.7 ghz

    1 gig ram

    windows 7

    intel grahics

  • perhaps... intel graphics is really bad, but if you switch all settings to low it should run

  • wow i got the game and it runs with medium graphics fine, normally above 40 FPS unless theres explosions lol. it probaly has something to do with windows 7 because that made my computer soooo much better.

  • cool dude

  • i installed the demo it worked very well. the only time it did not work was when there is music playing and more than 10 enemys or i turned on the flash light it was still very playable perfect for not paying attention in school

  • you use your Eee PC in school? wow, i think for that purpose its still too big. once i have my google phone, i will do it, but that one is far smaller

  • Intel Celeron M 353:

    wPrime 32m: 239.184 sec

    Whetstone (x87 float): 1228 MFlops

    Whetsone (iSSE2 float): 1651 MFlops

    Dhrystone (iSSE2 int): 3661 Mips

    Mandelbrot (iX87): 80.094 sec

    CPU Mark: 251.9

Atom N270 wins all these benchmarks.

  • Intel Atom N270:

    wPrime 32m: 123.49 sec

    Whetstone (x87 float): 2070 MFlops

    Whetstone (iSSE3 float): 3895 MFlops

    Dhrystone (iSSE3 int): 5211 Mips

    Mandelbrot (iSSE3): 76.845 sec

    CPU Mark: 323.1

  • I thought 1600-MHz was faster than 900...

  • the atom has a higher core frequency with 1600MHz. it means he can do more calculations per second. but if the CPU design and the commands it understands are outdated, every calculation can't "calculate as much" as the Celeron could with one calculation. do you get what i mean?

it's like the atom can do "1+1 = 2" 1600 times per second, but the celeron can do "sqrt(394374)" 900 times per second, which is a much more complicated calculation.

  • thats why the celeron gets better benchmark results than the atom processor

  • Dude, nice vid, but whats with the crap spewing out of your mouth? The atom is faster than the Celeron. Period. I've done first hand comparisons for my amusement, the atom wins.

  • The Atom N270@ 1.6GHz is faster than the Celeron M 353 @ 900MHz, but if you underclocked an Atom N270 to 900MHz and compared it to a Celeron M 353 at 900MHz, the Celeron would have better performance.

The reason is primarily because the Celeron is an out-of-order execution processor, while the Atom uses in-order execution. Out-of-order processors are like roads with passing lanes- slow trucks don't hold up the traffic because other cars can pass it.

  • What about the atom? Is it possible to run HL2 with the Atom 1.6GHz processer? Or will it only run with the celeron?

  • i think it should be possible. perhaps the performance will be a bit lower

  • I'm sure HL2 will run on a Atom,especially if its 1.6 GHz.

  • i think it will run, but if you compared the atom and the celeron, you will see that the celeron IS faster than the atom.

  • What do you mean by faster? Like faster loading times or faster over-all? Im getting either the 900 or 901, just to play CS... not Source, 1.6. What would you recommend? also the 901 has a better graphicchip.

  • is the 900 better than 901 in gaming?

  • you've got the intel atom processor which is slightly slower, but the intel gma 950 instead, whch should be a lot faster than mine graphics card. so i think the 901 is better

  • yea but every game vid with eee pc 900 their are playing more demanding games than the 901 or other netbooks and the intel gma 950 is not so much better ive heard from pc gamer swe

  • holy shit... this works like a dream... i had thoughts on not buying a full size PC because the processor is one of these micro sized "weak" processors. but thanks to your video. that fact has been proven otherwise :D

  • what other games can u play on it?

  • Well STEAM GAMES: CS 1.6; CS:S (not textured maps) HL1; HL2 EP1; Day of Defeat etc.^^ Hope I coud help..

  • see the other videos, nfsu2, garrys mod, warcraft 3,...

  • how can you run anything on that computer?! :O

  • i dont know, but its awesome. never thought that games like that would run on 900mhz, thats why i upload the proof to youtube to share it with the world!

  • I couldent bare to run hl2 in dx7, 9 at minimum!

  • why do you write "at minimum"? there isnt much choirce except of dx7 and dx9 :P 8 and 10 are not supported.

  • Dont Know I just like the reflections on the floor haha

  • then rather play crysis, there you've got better reflections :P

  • dxlevel 81 to use dx8 mode.

also you can try dxlevel 60, it works.

  • 60 works? awesome, have to try it :D but then tehre arent any effects left, are there?

  • I've got an asus 900HA with the atom and the GMA950, and the game is even slower than in this video, it's fast in small rooms without too much detail, but when you go outside, it drops to 2 or 3 fps...

  • switch to dx7-mode, then some effects are gone, but the performance is 10x better! launch the game with the parameter "-dx70"

  • already using dx7 and all the speed hacks like turned off the 3D skybox, etc.

  • wow, thats bad. the only thing i know is that your atom is slower than my pentium although it has more mhz, perhaps thats the problem.

  • No it's really a problem with the video drivers, I get the same FPS with high settings and low settings, which doesn't happen on normal PC's.

One thing that helps is overclocking my atom to 1.89ghz. I'm glad I got the atom, even when overclocked it creates less heat than the celeron, and I get 4 hours of battery life with wifi on and overclocked.

  • Die deutsche Synchro is scheiße... hät ich mir bloß die englische Version geholt^^

Nein, ehrlich dein Video is geil. Ob ich das wohl auf meinem AsusEee PC 4G hinbekomme? Half-Life 1 läuft aber HL2?

  • probieren, wenn du das ding mit 1gb ram hast sollte es laufen. machs auf dx7-mode, dann läufts auf jeden fall besser!

  • ughh, where the fuck do i buy this Exact thing?

    Is the 901 Better?

  • This is running on DX7 mode. How do I know? The combine trooper he it didnt have the blue effect on his beating stick

  • hehe, you're right. never noticed that :P

  • That is absolutely amazing.

  • HL2 is quite a overkill

  • its running fine. on 900mhz

  • These specs are almost exactly the same as my Dell B130.

  • but the asus is ten times smaller, isnt it?

  • lol, owned

  • just ordered my asus n10j a2 which is basically a asus eee 1000H on steroids with a 256mb video card and 2 gb of ram.. Im so excited to play half life 2 on it nice video thought you got my 5/5

  • what is ur ram and graphic card??????

  • see the description

  • Strange!

FI installed HL2 and runned it on the lowest settings, but it flags all the time Oo.

Did you change something important to the usual settings?

  • yes, its running in direct x 7 mode. rightclick hl2 in your steam, select properties -> launch parameters, add "-dxlevel 70" without the " and launch the game. should run fine then, with a bit worse effects, but still looking quite good

  • ok people explian to me were i can find a tutorial on doing windows lite on my eee pc any good websites???

  • Easy:

    1. Get a USB-external harddrive.

    2. Install Winows XP on the harddrive from a "regular" computer.

    3. Plug the harddrive into the EEE PC USB and boot from the harddrive.

Both systems intact, and the SSD won't be punished.

  • You boot the game up through the harddrive right?

  • danwhelanau is talking about installing it on the asus itself. i wouldnt install xp on your external hdd, because you always need to bring it when you want to use your asus!

better install it through your usb thumbdrive on the sdd, and play games on the external hdd!

  • Once you've booted the system from the harddrive it's just like when using a "regular" computer, just install the game and run it.

Though you might need to install via Roms or via a different computer and run with a crack as the EEE lacks a on-board optical disc reader.

  • search google for "eee pc windows xp", the first site is exactly what you want!

  • Why does it run so good on your Eee? I have a 1000H and I get only 5-10 fps all the time on lowest settings. How is this possible, the 1000H even has a better graphics card (GMA950 instead of GMA910)?

  • You need to use DirectX 7 instead of DirectX 9.

Type this into the launch options: -dxlevel 7

    It'll work fine.

  • yea, i'm also using direct x 7.

  • your processor is an atom, the 900 has a celeron. the celeron is faster although it has a lower frequency (900mhz instead of 1.6ghz). read in the internet about more details.

  • The atom at 1.6ghz is actually a bit faster than the celeron at 900mhz

  • Nope it isn't the Atom is an In-Order architecture with Hyper threading, it's a VERY low cost chip.

The Celeron however uses the Pentium Architecture, which is based on the P6 core found in the Original Pentium Pro many years ago which is more efficient.

  • And how does that refute my point? If anything, it adds to it. An Atom clocked at 1.6ghz will multitask better due to hyper threading, which the Celeron doesn't have. You're probably confusing the Silverthorne atom vs the Diamondville; the Diamondville is faster than the Celeron, and is what the eee uses. here are superpi benchmarks: SuperPi is done in 1m15s for the Diamondville.

    Compare that to 1m28s for Celeron-M 900 and Silverthorne 1.6GHz at 1min48s.

  • Intel Core 2 extreme all the way! lol

  • interesting i have the same computer only i got 2gb ram instead of 1 and get about 5 frames a sec... u sure ur not streaming game from desktop

  • Are you using a WIndows Lite ?

  • lol ok my bad whats windows lite???

  • You strip down XP and take all the junk out that the EEE pc doesnt need like drivers.

My stripped down version of XP is 144 Mb large and supports the EEE Pc 100%, see it as a custom build.

  • i've got the normal windows xp, nothing lite... it works fine!

  • Using the eee 700 with games?

  • That has got to be the fastest near palm sized notebook i've seen so far.

  • You should see the new one!

    Eee PC 1000HD

same price but, with 80gig hard drive and faster processor!

    the thing is a beast!

  • damn, i should have waited with buying!!

  • Nah the solid state disk is much better ^^

Besides screen resolution is exactly the same, screen is just a tiny bit larger.. Definitely going for a 901 soon myself ^^

  • Get the 901. Same specs as 1000s but smaller with SSD.

  • Depends what you mean by "faster"

The Diamondville Atom has fewer transistors than the Celeron M (thus it's small size), and as such takes more cycles to do fewer operations.

In the real world the Celeron M beats it in almost benchmarking tests. Unfortunately :(

The 900 is the one for me :p

  • How many average FPS?

  • i didnt measure it, but around 15-20 outdoors and 25-30 indoors i guess

  • Oh I think I figured out why it's running without lag! It's because of the Flash Hard Drive so it can pretty much stream the game from the hard drive, which also explains the fast load times.

And with only 4GB hard drive space, it's probably just a single game laptop, lol. Another game that might run well on there is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, it runs fine on mine, with slight lag in certain situations. But with your HD it should work better.

    BTW what language is that?

  • not 4GB, but 20GB. and my games are all running from the external hdd via usb.

  • Ah, well that crushes my theory.

  • its still fast. language is german

  • so small but still so great :P that thing is so awesome xD

  • This is probably not fake. I have similar specs and i can play this game with no lag as well.

    My specs:

    Windows XP

    1GB RAM

1.8GHz AMD Turion64 Dual Core Processor

    nVidea 6150 with integrated graphics

The reason why is because this game has pretty small zones.

Although not sure how he got it running at that framerate with only 800MHz and a single core processor. Maybe he's using Windows XP Gamer Version (it's an unofficial hacked release for gaming, duh) or Wine in Linux.

  • its win xp and no gamer version (but thanks for mentioning it, i will check it out), and its also no fake. buy a eee pc for 350 bucks and try it...

  • Nah, Windows XP Gamer Edition sucks. Since it's missing a lot of components, my drivers wouldn't install correctly so I have no sound and a crappy default video driver, which doesn't even match my laptop's screen resolution.

But I just got it yesterday and I'm still tinkering with it so if I get it to work I'll let you know.

  • lets try crysis on that laptop.

  • i did, its not working =(

perhaps if i modify it somehow so it wont display grass anymore...

  • kann mir jemand den sound ordner schicken? xD

  • hey what video setting are you using and what kind of fps are you getting?

  • Why did you choose 800x600 stretched?

  • 800x600? Cool! I wonder how it would be with 720x480! Increasing the preformance and fitting the ratio!

  • wow.

  • yeah it sounds awesome... and I speak the deutsch, albeit poorly

  • I'm definitely going to play hl2 in german now
