  • This could have been a half decent video without the stupid gun shot sound.

  • Heh, so The mantis Shrimp is basically a Kenshiro Shrimp.

    Cool.

  • ...and back to 9gag.

  • How the fuck is that possible?

  • FALCOOONNNN PUUUNCH!

  • It's a weird world !!!!!

  • BBCs use of annoying and retarded sound effects is amazing to say the least.

  • @Vildayyan2003 It's the dickheads who made the video. BBC recorded the footage. It was probably an American.

  • @TheGreatDevourer666- but how can people keep it in an fishtank aquariam if its not use to low pressure? :$

  • @metroprefix They would probably suffocate. Also, did you know at the bottom of the ocean the pressure is the same as 20 full-grown African elephants pressing down on you at the same time? Their bodies over time have evolved to be used to this pressure. If it came up here, the pressure difference would make their bodies explode. Also, it fires bubbles. AIR UNDER WATER. Up here it would just be air.

  • Thanks BBC this is helping me with my Sonic Weapons homework, I'll write this down.

  • POW HAHA

  • Shrimps eating shrimps. Isn't that cannibalism?

  • THAT'S FUCKING AMAZING.

  • Krabby used bubblebeam!

  • i dont think that is true about the sun part because of the suns temperature which can go up to 15,000000 degrease calceus oh thats the cener of the sun

  • It took us humans thousands of years and metals and minerals to make a gun. When all that time a fucking crustacean could do it naturally.

  • power of sun OMG

  • @lnedwin The shrimp drank Sunny D

  • God help us if terrorists found a way to genetically alter these to be much larger.

  • you could calculate the outcome using newton's laws not the hydrodynamics

because hydrodynamics is not based on newtons laws

  • Homeboy gotta gun!..LOL

  • Pistol Shrimp + Electric Eel Human Genetic Enhancement (Only Muscle Cells Targetted) [[TWITCH STRIATIONS :) :) ]] A "dreamy" present from "Nightmare Hall"!!

  • It's actually not "bubbles" as the man tells us. It is a small vacuum that is created when the water is pushed so fast away that it can't be "refilled" again fast enough... :)

  • @CaffeLatze i.e bubbles...

  • @CaffeLatze It technically is bubbles because water boils at 100 degrees celcius so it becomes gaseous and shortly back into liquid.

  • Charlie brought me here!

  • @helencomb haha same here!

  • How on earth would it reach the temp. of the sun?! I can't believe that...

  • @M3iscool The finer points of physics my friend......

  • @kehwa Hmmm.

  • i didn't even see bubbles.

  • damn that is soo cool xD i wish i could do that :3

  • Damn you, Nature.....you're scary!

  • Whooooooaa - that's crazy!

  • Shrimp eating another shrimp?? that's not right..supposed to be somethin' else..

  • SONIC BOOM!

  • mindblwing ninja tachnque

  • Interesting stuff

  • Extraordinary! Thank you!

  • Nature is more amazing than we can imagine!

  • How on Earth is this even possible?

    Damn nature, You scary!

  • Considering you can see a bright flash of light, I'll believe the temperature claims. And why are you all sure it's sound effects? In the beginning of the video the specifically say that the shrimp are responsible for a big portion of underwater noise, and such a powerful effect that creates high temperatures and knocks out prey with the sound alone may very well sound like a gunshot. It's "pistol" shrimp after all

  • that is amazing, this should solve the energy crises

  • @Lhouie27 Probably not, the shrimp is too small compared to you. Might get a bruise though.

  • Sonic Boom!

  • WHHHAT? The temperature of the sun? That's incredible.

  • Dear BBC,

Please do not use sound effects again. Ever.

    Thank you.

  • @kyle7286 you rather watch a video with no sound? I doubt that camera can record sounds comming from the snapping claws of that tiny shrimp in an underwater setting. The video segment will be rather dull if no sound effects were used.

  • @kyle7286 How come?! Is adds awesomeness!

  • Awesome!

  • can someone confirm the "bubbles reaching the temperature of the sun" ? I know it's bbc but it sounds like bs

  • death by bubbles

  • One person was seriously injured by the shrimp's bubble :P

  • awesome video! ....RING RING... Hello?...oh its for you. ITS 2005 and they want their 360p video quality back.

  • Gee, BBC, maybe some of us would like to hear what it REALLY sounds like, instead of your IQ-30 sound effects. Dorks.

  • incredible!!

  • stupid stupid sound effects

  • I have a new way of earning BIG MONEY in just minutes.. honestly, like..ahm.. send me some money and I'll send all infos about it to you ... #LOL

  • "Sonic boom! You win! Perfect!"

  • @iwannaplaycs LOL the real sonic boom right here xD

  • this sonic weapon is sick XD

  • That is generally incredible.

  • This is an old program but I'm glad they uploaded it because I remember seeing it years ago, and now I can watch it whenever.

  • Now the animals have guns

  • bubbles collapse and reach the temperature of the sun? where's the scientific proof?? where's the back-up to prove this??? i smell LIES!

  • Poor BBC. They must hate the comments they receive.

So far there are 7 comments. One of the commetns talks about farting, another one screams "WTF", another one talks in Spanish, and the last comment talk about Pokemon.

    Seriously... Poor BBC.

  • CORPHISH used BUBBLEBEAM!

    It's super effective!

  • Damn nature you are awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • If someone told me about this without a reputable source, I'd tell them they were full of shit

  • Woow.. la naturaleza es increíble. Nunca vamos a terminar de aprender y de asombrarnos de ella.

  • WTF!?!?!? The thing is a fucking fusion reactor.. :)

  • Who else farted when they watched this video?

  • the temperature of the sun? Mind boggling to think a creature smaller than a mouse can create a 6,000°C implosion underwater... even just momentarily.

  • @rorzn Are you being sarcastic?...

  • @t2de4thpwrW There's nothing sarcastic about what this person said.

  • @rorzn well i don't believe this is true though

  • @rorzn i wouldn't dare swimming near it

  • @rorzn Dude...just be happy he aint pointing that thing at you, Cause im sure that would sting a little

  • @rorzn yes but also what about the center of the sun it's 15,000000 degrease calceus

he never said what part of the sun it was

  • they shouldnt have added the cheesy sound effects

  • @doutonight yeah, not very BBC-esque.

  • @doutonight Are you saying the sounds aren't real?

  • @Mathiashamzamirza Im saying there are all sorts of weird sound effects superimposed over the video.
