  • i'm memorizing this piece for solo and ensemble.

that was pretty awesome though haha

  • HAHA!! I couldn't imagine myself having to play trumpet like that!! I'm learning how to play this song and now I'm going to have this scene stuck in my head everytime I play the song lol!!

  • Aucun intérêt !

  • wow... that would be hard to co ordinate the double tonguing and the fingering..nice hahaha

  • This iss sickk! haha i love how you guys play better then alot of the others that highschool/college kids post lmao

  • haha nice description :P

  • thats gotta be hard without being able to tell how much pressure the player needs on his face...

  • thats amazing i couldnt even imagine letting someone do that for me how does he not put to much pressure on his lips

  • Two men...one trumpet. one fingers, one blows ....thats all i can say

  • Truely Amazing!

  • Just to clarify - I've played the VIDEO, not the TUNE on my trumpet, several times! I'm definitely not in "their" league, as far as musical training & abilities are concerned.

  • Incredible story, and fabulous trumpeting!!!

I've played it several times, and am still in shock over the virtuosic musicianship shown by BOTH men here - incredible!

  • What was the whole point of this?!

  • this is a lot harder en it looks

im playing this song in a week for our solo and ensemble competition.

quite difficult yet you pulled it off

    good job

    :)

  • the guy fingering got a boner.

  • this is prob alot harder than it looks...y u wonder??? think about it...

  • one deffinately blows for the other

  • how cool!

and that's not an easy song either!

oh but god might wanna watch the wording there "one fingers, one blows.."

  • Wow..thats amazing, he must have strong lips to do that! 0_0

  • I was there. It is my stepson (Joe, doing the fingering). They got permission to do it at regional I&E (sans piano), the judge was blown away, the judges met later that day and decided it was fantastic, and worth letting them progress to State with it. With that official blessing, the choir director agreed to play piano. It was all "cool" with the judges, and a huge hit. They were "rock stars" that day.

  • ??????? what for???

  • I didn't curse... I'm not going to argue with a kid who makes excuses instead of sticking to what we are talking about. So leave a message and we'll discuss this, no I'll message you

  • Bad

  • everyone commenting is failing to realize that there is two people playing one trumpet one using the air and embouchure and one holding it and pressing the valves, a piece like that to be played without holding the trumpet yourself and using your tongue and someone else pressing the valves is very difficult to do simultaneously

  • it is. i have tried. its NOT easy...

  • difficult if you're not that good...if you really had skill then it'd be no problem. What you are failing to realize is that this should have been played a lot better, especially if they were playing it for State solo and ensemble. This is a really poor effort!!!

  • What you are failing to realize is that there are two people meaning one person has to not move an inch (near impossible) and sync the valves in time while all the other person is doing is buzzing into a non stable(moving and alternating pressure) mouthpiece.. sure it is easy by yourself with your own practice when you control everything but with those conditions it was played great

  • First off, Know your role and shut your mouth!!! I understand fully that there are two people playing this pansy solo. You say near impossible if he moves an inch...I say, move an inch and I'll still be able to play the piece! Once again, I will reiterate that this piece was NOT played great. They should have practiced a lot more if they really wanted to impress people. I'd be embarrassed if I went to State solo and ensemble and sucked it up like that, regardless of whether or not it's for fun.

  • you play while someone else is holding the trumpet and pressing the valves for you..its hard to maintain a constant tone like that

  • all I see when read this is..."whine whine whine, cry cry, I apparently suck at trumpet and can't accept it!!!" How about you try the exercise where you put the trumpet in the palm of your hand, with the bottom of the valves resting in your palm. Only hold your horn with that hand (you should have one free hand). Then start playing whatever you want. You'll see that it's not really that hard to play if someone else is holding your horn and fingering, unless you just absolutely suck!!!

  • This has nothing to do with how I play. Your "exercise" where you put the trumpet in the palm of your hand is different than having two separate brains operate one trumpet. YOU know where the trumpet should lay on your embouchure and you know the amount of pressure you play with. and with an inconsistency in that (unnecessary motion) its not possible to play perfectly. SO HOW ABOUT YOU TRY THE EXACT EXERCISE THEY ARE DOING AND PLAY WITH A FRIEND HOLDING THE TRUMPET AND PRESSING THE VALVES FORYOU

  • Like I said before, KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!! This is exactly about how you play. What you say directly represents your own abilities and knowledge of the instrument. My exercise mimics the same uneasiness that a player would experience if someone else was holding the horn. If the two people had practiced this piece enough, they would have realized how much pressure was necessary on each part. Your inability to grasp this concept just proves that you absolutely suck!!!

  • That is pretty creative, wow that's weird, I did it with my friend david because he played it last year and we were messing around in the band hall like always. haha

swimr4life5 is a fag, don't listen to the negative comments. Most of the people here in youtube are losers if they leave "you suck" comments. thanks, I enjoyed watching this.

  • what rating did you get?

  • #1 this shows poor musicianship

#2 this shows that you both are gay

#3 you cant play very well

#4 im a freshman and made area band and playing this solo this year

    #5 poor articulation

  • umm. if u took this serious. ur retarded. and no one cares u made some high school area band. OH WOW UR PLAYING CONCERT ETUDE. U MUST BE AWESOME. respond to this when u have vids of ur self playing some challenging music. and ps. everyone can play CE at this pace but not everyone can quicken the tempo.

  • or I'll respond to this like I'm doing now, and tell you that you don't need to have videos on youtube to prove that you are a good player...unless you don't have the self-esteem to realize that you're a good player. How about you don't respond, unless you actually spell out the word "you" instead of writing it "u". What are you in? Middle School?

  • This is not English class...stick to the subject. Also I'm done arguing through comments on this video because I'm sure it gets annoying to other people, so if you have anything to say leave me a personal message.

  • Don't get all defensive because I pointed out your imperfections. Seeing as how you care to not pursue this discussion any further...it is clear that you admit defeat and realize that I am right on this issue.

  • I totally agree!

  • No time. Double tounging not strong. Bad Intonation. No Dynamics. Keep studyin' my brother.

  • lol great job!

    "Two men...one trumpet.

    one fingers, one blows"

that's wat yo mama sed last nite!

  • great job i cant even play this myself but im working on it

  • pretty awesome how he still fought to find a way to play the tumpet

  • all of you assholes that are talking shit about this can go "blow and finger" yourselves because, this is pretty cool, I wish I had a friend that enjoyed playing trumpet as much as I do, nice video, creative and exciting, is that a strad?

  • There are 3 thoughts that you had when you wrote this: 1) My vocabulary is really small so I must divert to using cuss words and hopefully that will intimidate people 2) You don't have any friends 3) You wish you had a friend that enjoyed playing as much as you do because then he could stand behind you all the time when you practice...PERV!!!

  • fuck you sir. I guarantee that my vocabulary trumps yours thoroughly I feel no need to strut my linguistic skills I simply decide to speak with candor and frankness, so as to not confuse your ignorant fuckheadedness. I wish I had a friend to play an instrument with is that so hard to comprehend? Not many people around where I live play instruments and enjoy this type of music. I must regress, you sir are a fuckhead.

  • I see your maturity level matches that of your vocabulary. First off, know your role and shut your mouth!!! I like how you spoke with such candor and frankness. Your overuse of the f-word as well as your amazing skills that you possess to create words not yet in existence...such as "fuckheadedness", clearly proves that you are superior. I do have one question though. What is your youtube name?

  • my last name.

  • It doesn't matter what your name is!!! Before you say anything else, know your role and shut your mouth! You're embarrassing yourself every single time you speak, as well as making everyone else stupider by subjecting us to your mindless ramble.

  • Must you comment on everything that everyone says. Seriously your annoying, I can't read a few comments without seeing your name. You repeat yourself over and over again just learn to be quiet and enjoy the video. Please.

  • Thank you for proving my point. No further comments

  • oh and btw you have been defeated.

  • Seeing as you did not pick up on the abundance of sarcasm that graced my comment, you clearly lack the intellect to make a comment to me. Therefore, you are the one that has been defeated. For an individual who claims to have a vocabulary and linguistic skills that trump mine, it is quite clear that you were merely bluffing your way through your comment with false statements. Do yourself a favor and go find a friend!!!

  • So what is it that fuels your hate for this video exactly? well actually I don't really care but you should reflect on it because it is really causing you some unnecessary stress.

  • I don't hate the video at all, it's entertaining to an extent. It's just the people that are unable to comprehend the principles of respect for a judging panel, as well as those who view this video and think that the performance was amazing. It wasn't amazing at all...it was crap. Imperfect and therefore wasted the time of the panel as well as everyone that watches it. Oh, and great job writing the same comment twice...I suppose that is your vast cerebral power kicking in huh? scrub!

  • shut the lip!!

  • I was there... the next person to perform... talk about a hard act to follow

  • holy poo, it would be soo hard to coordinate, u practised

  • I will like to hear you play by your own.. Its one of the most difficult things to do like you did there!

  • oh who cares if he can move his fingers it's still impressive. when me and my mate muck around doing that kind of thing it comes out as a big bluh lol. anyway go yous ^^

  • cute

  • bull shit. Is that why you can move your fingurs and hands when your messin around with your buddy?

  • That sounds truly awful.

  • harsh double tounge but inspiring

  • I havent seen ANYTHING like that before, that was frikken awsome.

  • nah this video doesn't impress me. it's rather childish. i've admited, i've tryed it once and no it's not that hard. great minds think alike and well dumb ones too as u can tell. u'r playing attraction attention especially on practicing. keep working on it hard.

  • How can you do that loll...im trumpet player myself...very impressive, sounds weird of course, but impressive anyway, you two guys really have to feel it the same way^o)..anyway...not bad!;)..I played that etude once...by myself:P

  • i feel so bad for you. damaged your wrist. yet u play so well. must be hard to articulate right and have him get the right notes at the same time real hard i bet. i play trumpet too. but i casnt play for another few weeks. i had an accident ith my eye

  • that's awesome...
