Question Jon, is there a boost gauge to tell you psi of the supercharger? I know the SSEI has an analog gauge and the Regal GS has a digital readout. Still trying to hear from someone about the Riviera.
Good question.. Unfortunately this LSS has no boost gauge, although I wish I did. I don't think they installed them on these as not many LSS models had this supercharged motor...most were equipped with the regular 3.8 in them. It was a very rare option
@Jon3800 Thanks for the answer! That's too bad, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to put on a gauge from the junkyard. And yes, I know how rare the supercharged LSS is, I'm looking for one!
I just bought a 96 LSS n/a 3800 .. 100k and it still drives amazingly. the elderly gentleman who owned it kept the interior immaculate as well. I feel guilty driving it.
one question, what does this button on the left side of the wheel, below the trunk release button do?
Yeah man essentially identical as my 95 LSS save for a few additional features and slightly different style applications. Great car to drive and even though mine is 15 years old I love driving it.
@Jon3800 Definately. I just need to get mine repainted is all. Also mine didn't come with the supercharger but I can go to the auto scrapyards around here and salvage one.
My mom had a 2000 Intrigue from 2000 up until 2008 and it never gave her any issues.
So, right now i'm looking for a much more reliable car, and with better performance as well. I now own a 87 Sedan Deville with low mileage. Just want to get something a lil newer and with kick ass performance.
Try to find yourself the Intrigues with or any car with the 3800 motor. Super reliable, and pretty gas efficient. This olds has the supercharged 3800, and I pay at least $40 a week
@Jon3800 I found a Olds LSS I may buy. This is the info on it I will copy and paste below, Can you tell me if this is a SUPERCHARGED version like yours?
INFO: 1997 Oldsmobile LSS
Mileage: 64000
Stock No: 809909
Vin: 1G3HY52K0V4809909
Engine: 3.8L (231) SFI V6 transverse-mounted Series II engine
Great videos. I just purchased my first car. I bought a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 LS with 87K Miles. What light bulbs (driving) do you use? The ones that came with the LS aren't really bright. Any recommendations? Thanks. Be Care.
Kudos to you, buddy! I have a '97 Opel Omega (Cadillac Catera). It's not nearly as fancy as your Olds, but it's a great auto, a lot better than most of the cute looking hoopties and jalopies they make these days. Too bad there are less and less of us. Kudos to J4500, too. I don't know if you know his channel.
I have a green one,in mint condition, that's a 97,and it just broke 79,000 miles. Recently i have been looking to change the interior, and never thought about the Aurora! Does it have to b the same year as my Eighty Eight for the seats to fit? And,is it a PERFECT FIT,or just in there?
Well i have a regular Olds '88 LS,so i'm going to try it out (As soon as i find some seat that r mint like mine)! If u know of any sites i can go to,to look for stock or aftermarket parts like this, let me know. Thanks.
I notice when you start your car your A/C keeps coming on. You may have a weak battery. The best thing to do is turn off the A/C on a cold start. The oil is thicker due to the temp and this causes extra load to the running engine since it is belt driven.
Actually I did what you suggested me way back. After I do a cold start vid I disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Then I leave it for at least a week and reconnect it. That's what if you noticed the guages did a funky jump (that was cool), and the A/C came, on, like you told me if you ever disconnect batteries, the A/C comes on when you start the car
LMFAO beer holders! yea i guess drinking and driving is okay as long as you. dont spill hahahhaha nice clean car man except for the trunk... all that blood and the girls leg man what were you thinking?!? im so jealous... my car is from 2004 and it has manual windows/locks... yours starts with the push of the button...
Very good video again. You are correct about the seats being from the Aurora. There is one catch. The Aurora has power lumbar controls and memory seats. The LSS has manual lumbar control and no memory seats. The first LSS ( 1993-1995) did not have Aurora seats and Aurora styled wheels either.
Great video man, I was working on a video like this for my car but my old camera wasn't cutting it haha, now that I got my new camera I think I well make a good one haha! I've driven auroras and those seats are like dreams, so comfortable!!

what u think of the olds intrigue?
i think they were really good cars, i don't know why olds are killing all the good cars.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
the intrigues are nice lookers :)

is the LSS considered a luxury sedan?
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
Olds calls the LSS the Luxury Sports Sedan. I consider the LSS as a near Cadillac
Jon3800 2 years ago
I liked Olds, but never knew what LSS stood for. haha
thanks for educating me on that, now we got that out the way. Yeah i know what you mean, i'm a cadillac fanatic.
I then own at least 6 cadillacs in 23 years.
Now i think it's time to get something a lil different.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
just keep in mind, not all LSS have the 3800 supercharged engine, most came with the normal 3.8, the supercharged version was a limited option.
Jon3800 2 years ago
So i guess the supercharged would be the best one. I want powerrrrrrrrrrrr
so i think i rather take that engine.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
The regal Gs is a cool car
Jon3800 2 years ago
you read my mind, i was looking a pics of those yesterday. I just hate all bold and rounded the regals are.
but got good reviews that they are very good cars.
JoJoStar22 2 years ago
I actually wanted the regal, but I later found this one
Jon3800 2 years ago
well i will be car shopping soon, for a LSS.

its not supercharged. The key to look for is the 8th digit in the car's vin number.
K - normal 3800
1 - supercharged 3800
Jon3800 2 years ago
my vin starts with 1G3HY521.... as opposed to the 1G3HY52K
The 1 in the 8th digit is the supercharged version. They're hard to find
Jon3800 2 years ago
but 64000 miles is great for a 97. I bought mine at 84000 miles
Jon3800 2 years ago
