  • Question Jon, is there a boost gauge to tell you psi of the supercharger? I know the SSEI has an analog gauge and the Regal GS has a digital readout. Still trying to hear from someone about the Riviera.

  • @Parsec994a

Good question.. Unfortunately this LSS has no boost gauge, although I wish I did. I don't think they installed them on these as not many LSS models had this supercharged motor...most were equipped with the regular 3.8 in them. It was a very rare option

  • @Jon3800 Thanks for the answer! That's too bad, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to put on a gauge from the junkyard. And yes, I know how rare the supercharged LSS is, I'm looking for one!

  • I just bought a 96 LSS n/a 3800 .. 100k and it still drives amazingly. the elderly gentleman who owned it kept the interior immaculate as well. I feel guilty driving it.

one question, what does this button on the left side of the wheel, below the trunk release button do?

  • @jdotwallace

it turns on/off the fog lights

  • @Jon3800

thanks thats what I had thought, I guess both my bulb are out :(

  • thats a great 88 you got there. its in great shape ! lots of luxury and you even got a cool supercharger :-P

  • Aurora seats FTW!

  • Yeah man essentially identical as my 95 LSS save for a few additional features and slightly different style applications. Great car to drive and even though mine is 15 years old I love driving it.

  • @takaiwhiteguy

these olds are awesome to drive :)

  • @Jon3800 Definately. I just need to get mine repainted is all. Also mine didn't come with the supercharger but I can go to the auto scrapyards around here and salvage one.

  • Can you show us where the steering wheel is? How about the speedometer? How do you operate that door handle?

  • @KLewisChef

    see the driving videos

  • @Jon3800 I was being sarcastic lol

  • @KLewisChef

    oh ok LOL :D

  • lmaoo...i like jon..he promoted drinking and driving....he said its got some beer holders..loll...they are cup holders....loll jk..nice car jon..

  • what u think of the olds intrigue?

i think they were really good cars, i don't know why olds are killing all the good cars.

  • the intrigues are nice lookers :)

  • I love em, i'm gonna get me one.

My mom had a 2000 Intrigue from 2000 up until 2008 and it never gave her any issues.

So, right now i'm looking for a much more reliable car, and with better performance as well. I now own a 87 Sedan Deville with low mileage. Just want to get something a lil newer and with kick ass performance.

  • Try to find yourself the Intrigues with or any car with the 3800 motor. Super reliable, and pretty gas efficient. This olds has the supercharged 3800, and I pay at least $40 a week

  • is the LSS considered a luxury sedan?

  • Olds calls the LSS the Luxury Sports Sedan. I consider the LSS as a near Cadillac

  • I liked Olds, but never knew what LSS stood for. haha

thanks for educating me on that, now we got that out the way. Yeah i know what you mean, i'm a cadillac fanatic.

I then own at least 6 cadillacs in 23 years.

Now i think it's time to get something a lil different.

  • just keep in mind, not all LSS have the 3800 supercharged engine, most came with the normal 3.8, the supercharged version was a limited option.

  • So i guess the supercharged would be the best one. I want powerrrrrrrrrrrr

so i think i rather take that engine.

  • The regal Gs is a cool car

  • you read my mind, i was looking a pics of those yesterday. I just hate all bold and rounded the regals are.

but got good reviews that they are very good cars.

  • I actually wanted the regal, but I later found this one

  • well i will be car shopping soon, for a LSS.

  • @Jon3800 I found a Olds LSS I may buy. This is the info on it I will copy and paste below, Can you tell me if this is a SUPERCHARGED version like yours?

    INFO: 1997 Oldsmobile LSS

    Mileage: 64000

    Stock No: 809909

    Vin: 1G3HY52K0V4809909

    Engine: 3.8L (231) SFI V6 transverse-mounted Series II engine

    Transmission: Automatic

    Warranty:Free Extended

    THANKS, STEPHEN

  • its not supercharged. The key to look for is the 8th digit in the car's vin number.

    K - normal 3800

    1 - supercharged 3800

  • my vin starts with 1G3HY521.... as opposed to the 1G3HY52K

The 1 in the 8th digit is the supercharged version. They're hard to find

  • but 64000 miles is great for a 97. I bought mine at 84000 miles

  • Your cold idle seems a bit high at 1500 rpm.

  • its normal, it hasn't been started in 2 weeks

  • Great videos. I just purchased my first car. I bought a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 LS with 87K Miles. What light bulbs (driving) do you use? The ones that came with the LS aren't really bright. Any recommendations? Thanks. Be Care.

  • congrats dude :)

Umm, I use the stock lights came, and you're right they're not the brightest. I'd probably try and get the halogens ones

  • are u from québec?

  • Yep

  • Kudos to you, buddy! I have a '97 Opel Omega (Cadillac Catera). It's not nearly as fancy as your Olds, but it's a great auto, a lot better than most of the cute looking hoopties and jalopies they make these days. Too bad there are less and less of us. Kudos to J4500, too. I don't know if you know his channel.

  • Catera's are nice cars, thanks.

    Yep, I know Bogar :)

  • dude my dad has a remote start on his key chain too we have four cars i can make a vid of them and show them to u if you want me too

  • up to you dude

  • i have a 96 oldsmobile 88 ls and i need some new seats bad but i dont want leather i want cloth any body have any idea where i can get them from?

  • try a junkyard see if they have a similar car, or ebay it

  • I have a green one,in mint condition, that's a 97,and it just broke 79,000 miles. Recently i have been looking to change the interior, and never thought about the Aurora! Does it have to b the same year as my Eighty Eight for the seats to fit? And,is it a PERFECT FIT,or just in there?

  • The LSS does come stock with Aurora seats. I think it should fit

  • Well i have a regular Olds '88 LS,so i'm going to try it out (As soon as i find some seat that r mint like mine)! If u know of any sites i can go to,to look for stock or aftermarket parts like this, let me know. Thanks.

  • will do

  • Sweet.

Check out my 1998 Olds Eighty Eight LS.

  • yes, I saw it

  • This would be the perfect car for david, plenty of beer storage.

  • yup, after all he loves those GM 3.8s. He even likes it because its supercharged

  • So had one just like this, it got in a wreck, other persons fault.... Trani was going out any how.

  • dang, man so sorry to hear that :(

  • Got an 09 camry out of that little thing so yay me. LOL. Not leather, no sun roof, no bose speakers but it's new so thats nice.

  • yup, congrats

  • When spring comes, are you going to make a video of the car driving?

  • yes

  • Tisk tisk GM these were nice cars.

  • ya :)

  • Dude, I love how you said "Eatons eat un s" Supercharger. That was Awesome!!!

  • Thanks

  • LSS - Luxury Sports Sedan.

I notice when you start your car your A/C keeps coming on. You may have a weak battery. The best thing to do is turn off the A/C on a cold start. The oil is thicker due to the temp and this causes extra load to the running engine since it is belt driven.

  • Actually I did what you suggested me way back. After I do a cold start vid I disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Then I leave it for at least a week and reconnect it. That's what if you noticed the guages did a funky jump (that was cool), and the A/C came, on, like you told me if you ever disconnect batteries, the A/C comes on when you start the car

  • Were you takin the video with a laptop webcam?

  • yep :)

  • good quality

  • I know, I love using it :)

  • LMFAO beer holders! yea i guess drinking and driving is okay as long as you. dont spill hahahhaha nice clean car man except for the trunk... all that blood and the girls leg man what were you thinking?!? im so jealous... my car is from 2004 and it has manual windows/locks... yours starts with the push of the button...

  • Lol, I was joking about the trunk. You can get a remote starter :)

    What kinda car is it?

  • lol would be sweet i got a jeep wrangler before they added the ugly extra doors lol

  • lol ya

  • why dont you drive it year round?

    Because of Canadian winters or??

Btw... I noticed your accent in the first video are you French Canadian ( meaning speaking French mostly ) Oui?

  • The reason that I don't drive her because of yeah, Canadian winters, and partly because I hardly need a car since I don't drive very far.

Yes, I'm french Canadian, I'm from Quebec, but I mostly speak English

  • ahhhhhhh I thought I detected a SLIGHT french accent

really you guys dont speak french up there anymore in Quebec?

  • we do speak french here. If you want a decent job here, you gotta speak both french/english

  • I love those (door) lights too! I wish more cars had them

  • thanks :)

  • LMAO NICE CAMERA! a laptop lol

  • yup

  • lol at 10:01

  • hehehe :)

  • LOL at 3:17 Did you say it had Beer holders

  • yup :)

  • One fine machine. Damn near a Cadillac. I'd like to see a TopSpeed run in her, Jon.

  • same here, I'd like to do a top speed. It uses magna-steering, so its similar to one :)

  • This is a great car and good cold start too! Sweet features, sweet luxery. This must have cost you what 35,000 ? ;) Thanks for sharing

    Peace :)

  • $3500 I paid

  • Beautiful

  • yup :)

  • Very good video again. You are correct about the seats being from the Aurora. There is one catch. The Aurora has power lumbar controls and memory seats. The LSS has manual lumbar control and no memory seats. The first LSS ( 1993-1995) did not have Aurora seats and Aurora styled wheels either.

  • Yup, I got it from you, when u mentioned it to me once :)

  • Nice detailed walk through of the Olds! I should have the Impala SS video by Tuesday :)

  • sweet thanks :)

  • wait a min..is this a new one? lol

  • YUP all new

  • ah i rmeber this vid. nice to watch it again. and nice to rate it 5 STARSSS

  • its a brand new vid, i dont have the original video

  • Thanks :)

  • Great video man, I was working on a video like this for my car but my old camera wasn't cutting it haha, now that I got my new camera I think I well make a good one haha! I've driven auroras and those seats are like dreams, so comfortable!!

  • I know, you can easily fall asleep in those :)

  • that is a nice car!

  • Thanks man :)

  • Sweet! trunk access is for the skiis!!

  • cool :P

  • 10*****stars*****

  • Thanks man :)
