  • This video definitely Rocks!

  • nice Peter, very nice ... thanks 4 this works

  • david and tim are great guys i have learned more in the free 5 classes than in 4 month paying a teacher and thats why i quited playing ...not everybody has the talent to teach and david sure has it

  • Too Cute! I think David rocks too!

  • david is teh best.

  • Well done. David Taub is a generous teacher and an outstanding citizen of the YouTube community.

  • He's the best theacher a looks like a nice guy... Great tribute ! He deserve it...

  • Good stuff - Dave Taub delivers the goods! ... still can't figure out why he can make a 'Hey Joe' video, but not a 'Red House' video; I suspect he's about the only guy around with the ability + patience, to break RH down into learnable bits

  • Awesome. I like it. Nice cartoon.

    Hey David, you listening?

    You're a good teacher!

  • LOL! That music made the things he said really funny for some reason.

  • Eddie

    Legend!

  • wheres the "down down up up up down up" ?

  • You should have put his ears tucked into his hat. Well done though!

  • Thanks, I did not put his ears tucked into his hat. David is a teacher. He says "develop your ear" :D

  • "hello good people" my favourite quote :P and "you can do it"

  • This was a great video and I actually learned something from it. I knew major, minor and 7th chords. But I never knew what kind of voice/mood you created by putting them into music. Cool.

  • wat song is this?

  • I guess it's not a song. David played this chord progression in another video. Look up "Message from David"

  • I know he did in his eaasy guitar vid

  • DT is a legend, love his work. Such a great positive, inspiring energy.

  • thanks, man. David's cap wasn't easy to draw :P

  • nice.

  • Hey this is really cool. I'm Rob G. I play bass in David's band Leo Rising. He really is nicer in person than on video, if you can imagine that.

  • Peter this is great stuff! Thanks so much - YOU RULE!

    rock on!

    David Taub

  • Hi david, thanks for the comment and keep up the good work.

  • @rockongoodpeople I learned how to play guitar SO FAST, just because of David Taub and his crew. Thank you, "Leo Rising" ! You are awesome! Rock On !

  • Em, I have a questin. What's a suspended chord/note?

  • suspended chords is when the 3rd is taken out ot make a sus2 and a sus4 is when you add the 4th note into the chord itself then making it not major or minor, but Suspended! very ringy chords.. you would need to know the major scale to understand it more..

    few examples below:

    Asus2 x02200

    Amaj x02220

    Asus3 x02230

    -----

    Dsus2 xx0230

    Dmaj xx0232

    Dsus4 xx0233

  • OKAAAYYYYY, so THAT'S a suspended chord! Is there a rule of some sort on where to add those notes? (ex: like in minor chords, you just have to go one fret lower than major on the thinnest chord you put your finger on)

  • Every scale contains all 7 notes: ABCDEF and G in one form or another (some will be sharp or flat, depending on what scale it is. Sus2 and sus 4 chords both change the 3rd note in the scale.

Take a D major chord, for example. D is the first note in the D scale. Counting up from D we see that F is the 3rd note (DEF...) in the scale (it is actually f#). Find the F# note and lower it 2 frets for a Dsus2 or raise it one fret for a Dsus4.

Same for A chord. 3rd note is C (C#). Lower it to C for Asus2.

  • That should read lower the C# note 2 frets to B for Asus2 and raise it 1 fret to the D note for Asus4.

A major chord contains the 1st, 3rd, and 5th notes in the scale.

    A sus2 cords has the 1st, 2nd and 5th notes.

    A sus4 chord contains the 1st, 4th, and 5th notes.

Hope this all makes sense now.

  • Yep, it does, believe it or not. :D Thanks!

  • hahaha. that is so cool. thats just like the real thing.

  • well done mate, good vid and pretty informative in itself, David will be proud! good work!

  • nice vid

  • what are the chords your playing in the video.

  • Gmajor, Amajor and DMajor (with suspended variations like Dsus2 and Dsus4).

    Try it!

  • thanks dude, sounds good

  • dude, you rock! this is awesome!

  • you forgot the ovation breadwinner beside the strat

  • I did draw the breadwinner. Don't you see it?

  • Very Cool!...Rock on Good People!

  • What's under that hat?

  • Haha! that reminds me of a parody of Bono and The Edge done by UK comedians Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse, where Bono asks Edge "So.. What's under yer lovely hat today The Edge" and Edge lifts his hat to reveal a crop of mushrooms or something equally wierd!

  • That was great lol.

  • LOL! looks just like him XD
