Get a steam cleaner, or buy some carpet powder, or use baking soda mixed with a little soap and let it sit for an hour, then dry it up & vacuum. Or just buy carpet cleaner &vacuum :)

for the electronics that got covered in hot chocolate, try the beat all for water spilled on electronics.... place them in a bowl of rice. soaks up all the moisture. could work for the power strip too. Then it would just have dried chocolate powdery junk which honestly, is about as bad as a large amount of dust accumilation which really isn't that bad. spray a little canned air, and you should be good to go.

Most electronics will still work after getting wet once it is completely dried out IF and I stress IF no electrical current was sent through it while it was wet. Wait two or three days before you use it again and it will work fine.

Unfortunately it wasn't just water you spilled, and even when it dries there is a lot of residue that may cause problems with the power strip. Throw it away and get a new one, they aren't that expensive.
