lol... its funny how u categorize ALL of source players playing it because of graphics. i dont play it because of graphics at all. i play it because its more fun to me than 1.6 and i actually like the reg way more in source than 1.6's shitty interp system. and thats my opinion. but dont be ignorant by saying all noobs play source and pros play 1.6. there are pros in both games and they would own you at source and 1.6. if you reread what i wrote, it doesnt categorize all teh source players, it categorizes most of the noobs. most of hte noobs to games will go out and say oh look its newer, it must inevitably be better. have u ever seen a noob go out and buy starcraft over tiberium wars? also, im not totally sure but i think source uses interp too. cl_interp instead of ex_interp. ok, so i was incorrect in crediting the quote. i dont like 3d that much anyways.

so why do u care if all of the noobs go play source? they are gonna play in pubs anyways.... the competetive scene should be equally as talented. and yes source also uses interp, but it doesnt effect the reg as much as it does in 1.6. ex_interp 0.1 is illegal in some 1.6 leagues because its "cheap" and allows you to shoot a little in front of the player and get a hit, so u can kill them before they round a corner. you wont find that in source. and 1.6 is full of 16 bitters.

well it depends on what you mean by competitive scene. if you mean scrims, there are so many scrubs i know personally that scrim and lose every time. if you mean competitive as in the former cgs players, those are probably equally talented. i have never seen any kind of interp rules in leagues i have played in, and 16 bit gets u an automatic ban in leagues. 0.1 doesnt even make that much of a difference, sometimes its the correct interp setting for the server.

there are so many bads in source. this friend of mine is so shitty at cs, he started like 3 months ago and he already got 3 aces in scrims. im just amazed at how shitty source players are. the first time i ever aced in 1.6 was against a main pug, yet that guy is shittier than ogl yet he already has 3 aces. the 1 and only time i ever scrimmed in source, i got an ace. the head hitbox is huge, and source is so easy. gg.

@TocsDK The violin was first produced 500 years ago. Today it is relatively unchanged, so why do we still use it? A hatchet may seem primitive, but a hatchet won't malfunction. It won't jam, or tell you its out of fuel. Thats why the hatchet hasn't been "updated" often - it works. CS1.6 works, it doesn't need to be updated. At this point, whenever a "major" update hits 1.6, the community reels and valve receives a flood of complaints, because everything was fine the way it was.

Tetris isn't really a competitive game, in the way Counter-Strike and Starcraft is. I don't believe you can win big money by playing Tetris. Maybe the rules of hockey hasn't been changed much, but I believe something has - like the equipment.
