I was a regular visitor to alvecote and amington during my teen years and still take my kids to see the trains now. Brilliant video thanks for sharing it with us :)
What lovely trains we had, Gone but not forgotten, I watched these same formations leaving Euston that year remember them like yesterday. 10 out of 10 for your video mate.
Yeah, I wish I had gone across to the WCML more. At the time you just do not imagine the trains disappearing. I am pleased I transferred this from VHS. :)
Aaaaah good old Hodge Lane, with the Pigs just over the way. A favourite haunt for me late Seventies/early Eighties when if you were lucky you saw the APT-P running and nuclear flask trains. Choice!
fantastic footage there mate, top stuff.

@560928 The 'security' fencing is widespread - and a nuisance to photographers. :(

Nice mix of diesel and AC traction there. The WCML was so much more interesting back then than it is now.

I totally agree. But that applies to most other places as well. :)

Thanks. Oh to have the 87's back running expresses here, instead of disappearing to Bulgaria. :(
