  • fantastic footage there mate, top stuff.

  • Proper DMUs.

  • ah the good old days... sigh....

  • @ricjuk yeah, rather more boring now...... :(

  • I was a regular visitor to alvecote and amington during my teen years and still take my kids to see the trains now. Brilliant video thanks for sharing it with us :)

  • @560928 The 'security' fencing is widespread - and a nuisance to photographers. :(

  • Nice mix of diesel and AC traction there. The WCML was so much more interesting back then than it is now.

  • I totally agree. But that applies to most other places as well. :)

  • great footage of the wcml at amington, nice to see the old intercity expresses!

  • loving the AC screamage :)

  • lovely snapshot thanks for sharing

  • you're welcome. Just wish I had been able to stay longer. :-/

  • What lovely trains we had, Gone but not forgotten, I watched these same formations leaving Euston that year remember them like yesterday. 10 out of 10 for your video mate.

  • Yeah, I wish I had gone across to the WCML more. At the time you just do not imagine the trains disappearing. I am pleased I transferred this from VHS. :)

  • great video

  • Thanks. Oh to have the 87's back running expresses here, instead of disappearing to Bulgaria. :(

  • Aaaaah good old Hodge Lane, with the Pigs just over the way. A favourite haunt for me late Seventies/early Eighties when if you were lucky you saw the APT-P running and nuclear flask trains. Choice!
