@s2knott hey bud just saw your comment its a little late im sure u made ur decision but i have an 06 cts sport also..absolutely love the car but ive had my share of engine problems thank the lord i have a warranty i would just make if your still looking to get the car to make sure u have a solid lengthy warranty it will save u in the long run... hope this helps good luck

Does anyone know if removing two mufflers and installing one would lose rear hp and torque?

@Cads4life Personally it felt like it lost low end torque. But on the high end, the dyno proved that HP was increased.

@Cads4life Intake and exhaust together equated to about 20 more HP on the dyno. At the track all my times improved. First time at the track, stock, it was only 35 degrees outside, out of 6 runs my best time was 14.925 @ 91 MPH, the rest were over 15 seconds.

Last time I went it was over 90 degrees outside (about 55 degrees hotter) and all my times were all under 14.9, with my best being 14.819 @ 94.08 MPH.

Hey This is an awesome setup!

I also have an 07 3.6 but mine is a base model with the 17" rims etc.

Im tryin to do this exact set up on my car but im alittle confused on how you did the piping because my car has the dual exhaust but the tips are connected to boxes and it appears that yours are not. if you could clarify or maybe post a link to were u got the stainless steel piping that would be great!

@1secondfilms You need to bring the car into a muffler shop that can weld custom work. Make some calls to your local shops and see what they can do. I paid about $300 for the install, this included the price of all the SS pipes he bent and welded.

@chodesiden all u need is custom exhaust and a K&N drop in air filter n ur set.... custome exaust may cost a bit but the air filter may be worth 50 bucks

Why an X pipe if you have a dual in and dual out muffler. Thats was a wast of money and retarded. SOUNDS GREAT!!! But X pipes are expensive. I understand if you had dual exhaust. However, The X pipe will get rid of the fart can sound, so maybe thats why it sounds so good.

So from the cats back, did you remove the resonator? Is it stock cats, no resonator to an x pipe into a magnaflow muffler and straight back to the stock tips?

I have a 2010 Malibu LTZ 3.6 liter v6 I wanted to do this to but all in a forum said it would be like farting into a tin can. Yours certainly does not sound that way!

@oDTheTruth Meaning the muffler has 2 pipes entering it and 2 pipes exiting it. I think you are thinking dual each side, if that was the case, it would be quad in/quad out, which im almost positive doesnt exist.

@SvB4EvA actually, the X pipe helps to scavenge exhaust pulses and smooth out exhaust sound. Its not directly related to backpressure. Actually, on a V6 like this you don't even NEED a crossover (but they sound like poo poo without one).

@oDTheTruth from the motor yeah but usually you loose 15% of the power through the drivetrain. so i'd say with this you'd be at 237RWHP. with a chip you might get it up to 260 or so at the wheels which is pretty damn good.

I have one of these also, I love the way it sounds, The only thing that sucks is when your revving it doesnt go past 4,000 RPM's, does yours do this also, I think it does by the way it sounds.

Yea, the rev limiter stops you at 4k RPMs. If you find someone to tune you car you can remove that safety if you wanted to.

Yes you can install the 11378 with no X-pipe installed. I have not had any problems at all. Only thing is slight loss of low end power, but the gain in the top end is worth it by far. I have the dyno graphs and 1/4 mile track times to prove it. If I had a tune I could probably help the bottom end a little bit.

Getting two 11378s will be pointless and you wont be able to use them. 11378 is a dual in/out mulffler.

Yea, the Magnaflow X Pipe is #10790 and the muffler I used is Magnaflow #11378. There is only one muffler now, dual in/out

Would have given a much deeper tone down low, were the X-Pipe allows the exhaust pulse's to scavange off of each other, it also allows them to collide, which gives a slap or rasp sound.

Im suprised it doesnt pop, when in a low gear while letting off of the gas.
