NDAA is outrageous, but we all know why it was put in place. Politicians may be stupid but they aren't ignorant. They see the storm clouds approaching. They know the Eurozone will collapse next year. They know that will affect the US. They know riots will start, civil unrest will begin. I also think that every day Americans (regardless of color, but likely mostly lower-middle-class) will rise up against the oppressive government and will be first to be labeled "Domestic Terrorists".

Without due process there is no USA. It was the heart of the idea which made the country a hopeful experiment with regards to the governance of mankind. We are much further down the wrong path than people understand and it makes me very pessimistic about our future. If someone not named Ron Paul wins in SC then you would be remiss to not start planning an exit strategy, especially if you have people who rely on you.

I wrote the President asking that he honor his pledge NOT to sign this, with the military "arrest" of US citizens for "the suspicion of" terrorism. Thin end of the wedge, this is, and once that genie is out of the bottle, it's not going back. Kiss off a MAJOR piece of what has kept this country free, folks. With the fear-mongering that has been ramping up over the past 10+ years, it isn't hard to see there will be "disappeared" inside our own country, and done "Legally", now. Scared yet...?

NDAA is outrageous, but we all know why it was put in place. Politicians may be stupid but they aren't ignorant. They see the storm clouds approaching. They know the Eurozone will collapse next year. They know that will affect the US. They know riots will start, civil unrest will begin. I also think that every day Americans (regardless of color, but likely mostly lower-middle-class) will rise up against the oppressive government and will be first to be labeled "Domestic Terrorists".

George Washington suspended habeas corpus, Lincoln did it too. habeas corpus represents the legal right that a person in a free society has to not be whisked from his or her home without reason or cause and to not be detained or punished by the authorities without getting a fair hearing in court.
Article 1, section 9 of the Constitution, restricting powers of Congress, forbids the suspension of habeas corpus except, "when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public safety may require it."

For all those that don't know yet, the Iowa votes for the upcoming caucus, are now going to be tabulated at a secret location. They're saying that it's being moved for "security reasons" but i think it's more likely because they're going to try and screw Ron Paul out of winning Iowa (which he should) I've read some articles that are also trying to indicate that Mitt Romney is surging? in Iowa, and that he's in the lead!
