I just got this bass. I've played with it in the shop before, I figured it'd be a nice addition to my collection. They ended up shipping the wrong one, so I'm waiting to pick it up for a while. Did I make a good decision, good sir?
@slickrickrage yeah you should be able to all you need is the right strings get a 6 string set and use the 5 highest for the 5 lowest on this then get an e string meant for guitar or something. i'm sure it's possible somehow
@Jamiewaldie1992 He'd have to replace the nut, they wouldn't sit right. Even still, he'd have to take it to a professional to have it set up, cause the whole bass would be completely out of wack. Be better off just getting one of those VI basses like the Schecter Hellcat VI or the Fender Bass VI. They're essentially the size of a baritone guitar, tuned an octave down. It's a lot closer to what he's looking for, much easier that trying to customize a 6string guitar.
@GrayXIII It's a Boss ME-50B. To tell you the truth, I don't think it's anywhere near worth its price tag. I think it's like $250, but I don't remember. It has been a while since it was purchased, and since then it got stolen! :(
I payed about 400 with tax...375 ish without tax...I got a deal on it, but the price is very reasonable for what kinda of instrument you get. And you bet, this is the maple version :) spalted
No? Why do you ask, the high range perhaps? All notes played are simply in the basses range. I personally love it..the range freedom and such (some may only want 4 string range)..but no, no effects other than reverb was used. (I should have been using the compressor to even the sound out but oh well).

@Dlectronic hey buddy,
may I ask what the action is like on this bass? is it nice and low?
Thanks very much!
jjVI 1 year ago
@jjVI It is, and mind you it can be adjusted like most other basses. it is quite easy to keep it nice and low on the bass.

@KarbunkulMusic Actually, I am using a sustain effect on a pedal. I didn't intend to be sneaky; I just forgot to mention it in comments, ha.
Dlectronic 1 year ago
@Dlectronic What kind of pedal are you using for the sustain?

malupeetun 2 years ago
Its definitely substantial...feels solid for sure. but its no back killer. not TOO heavy.
Dlectronic 2 years ago
I have this bass
It is a little heavy but as Dlectronic says
is not TOO heavy for being a 6 string
You get used to it
