my mom says my natural hair looks bushy and not straight.. which i thought was kind of a given but my dad says he's ashamed of my hair.. so i guess i'm getting a perm on saturday after 9 months of transitioning.................­................. =/

@nessawithsmiles Don't let people bother you... even if it is your relatives. You have to do what makes you happy and not live for other people. The pressure of the world is hard, and I understand it. But you have to do what is best for you, only you know how much you can handle. Most time folks come around... I still get comments from friends sometimes, but I have to let them know, this is me, and God doesn't make any mistakes. Blessings to you sis.... Stay Strong!

@nessawithsmiles I got the same thing from a few of my family members.Oh ur hair is nappy.You need to perm it.why don't you straighten it.Blah Blah Blah!!I love the new me.My hair is healthy and strong and beautiful.Know that you don't have to have permed hair to be beautiful.Its not easy dealing with the pressure of the world but know within urself that ur natural hair is beautiful.

how do you get your hair soft and curly like that at 1:44 and 1:52? I'm 20 and I have had my hair natural since April of 2008. I have to keep it braided because I am in the military, but when I do have it out, it's really dry, but what kind of products do you use?

If your looking for something that will provide moisture, I would recommend a gel activator such as Hawaiian Silky which is my favorite. In 1:52 that is what I have in my hair. It provides shine and moisture without any buildup. I also have a review of that product, check it out when you have time.

I like Eco styling gel, but I only use a small amount. Sometimes depending on the product I use I don't have to use anything but a brush.
