  • Im a slim build 5'10" male who can get a chubby gut once in a while since I eat 6 meals a day + junk food, love soda and tend to get lazy during vacation times. When not in vacation I usually just walk alot everyday I have to go to work or college. Martial arts does help me stay in shape which I do 3 times a week. It keeps me, a scrawny guy to kick some mean asses lol

    the human body is programmed to be able to find it's own natural healthy weight. (everyone's is different)

    Just eat food as close to it's natural state as possible. and get off your ass and live your life a little. If you burn more than you put in you HAVE to lose weight.

  • I keep my caffeine down to 3 coffees a day. I think that's probably reasonable - but I still get a shitty headache if I miss out.

    I think the diet mentality is a problem. Finding a quick decent meal is also a problem. We're surrounded by easy junk food or crappy lo-fat/lo-* stuff. If you're having milk in some form every day then sure, go with some sort of lite white, but I draw the line at skim. Use your body or lose it and eat real food to support it. Hard to do sometimes.

    Answer to become a stick: More protein, less carbs, no sugar, no white bread, many small meals a day - never be hungry. Starving is counter productive, makes you feel down and decreases metabolism. No need for coffein crap - just health food regulary, vitamin c and sports to activate the system.

  • Caffeine actually stops giving you that up effect after while because your body gets used to it. So you're probably imagining that a bit. Carbs are what your brain works on so don't cut them out...just eat the right sustaining ones like multigrain bread and wholegrain pasta. Fruit +veg. Lots of healthy fats from fish and nuts. Use olive oil spread instead of butter. Don't cut out dairy you need it 3 times a day, just use skim milk. Moderation. And burn what you put in with exercise every day

    Any on topic.... I know you likes the noodles if its any help for ya I lost a heap of weight when I was flating living off noddles along really its pretty boring but works. The other thing I would say is don't care lifes way to short.

  • Lots of green vegetables, Lots and lots of water, lots of protein (I stay away from beef and tend to eat mainly grilled chicken or tuna) small amounts of dairy, hardly any carbs (which is impossible for me because i love pasta/rice/bread) the main one is that, if you can't eat every 2-3 hours.

  • atleast have breakfast, it's really important for your metabolism. stay away from sugar and caffeine if it affects your moods. (I noticed that when I stopped drinking soft drinks and eating lollies my mood was SO much better)

    if you can't cut out the caffeine, cut out the sugar.

    after ramadan is probably the best time to diet, because your stomach has shrunk so it'll be easy on you,

  • Personally if i want to lose a bit of weight i just replace my main meal every other day with a bowl of 'Special K' (or maybe 2 days on, then one day back to normal).... or have a bowl of Special K whenever you really get the munchies (rather than eating the junk you often end up eating when you get an attack of the munchies).

    That always made it easier for me.

And sometimes beleive is not enough, it's nice to beleive in things, but you gotta make it happen e.g you can't beleive a sugar pill will make ur pains go away.   • i heard of banana diet. what you do is eat one banna and drink a glass or room temperatured water in the morning. wait for about an hour or so n you can eat what ever food you want after.

    somehow the banana absorbs the fatty/oily stuff or somethign and does stuff to your body that it wont make you all fat.

    my aunt is trying that diet n she lost 4lbs a week i think.

  • caution: if you eat this some more than one week, maybe you will have a descompentation of fluids.

    if you want to fit more than you had get, you have to rest one week, and then continue with the soup.

    3 tomatoes

    6 cambrai onions

    1 green chile pepper

    1 meddium cabbage

    1vegetable juice (v8 splash, clamato, etc).

  • salt and pepper to taste. preparate: with little oil fry onion and tomato. when this were ready add the chile pepper in cubes.

    put the cabbage in strips in a pot, and add water add the vegetable juice add the rest of water and the other ingredents. wait for grass (30 min aprox or less). ready!

    diet:

  • 1 day: soup (all that you want), water (all that you want)

    2 day: soup (all that you want), water (all that you want), 1 patatoe herbed (with out salt or any sasoner). juice of fruits (anyone you like to drink).

    3day: repeat day 2 except the patatoe, change it for a sugar free banana smoothie, whit light milk. 4 day: ( this day you were tired and hungry, is normal, your grass were evacuating you body very faster). repeat day one.

  • 5 day: repead day one, and add 300 grams of meat (fish, chiken, cow, anyone you want except pig).

    6 day: repeat day one.

    7 day: repeat day one.

    note: this is a rigorous diet, if you obey that, you will be gonna thinest person in your country, but, from less due more difficult and slow weight loss will. ( try, try not to behave badly with diet) edwin diaz, mexico.

  • try the "after 6 diet" like not eating anything after 6pm..the good thing about this diet is you can eat anything and everything between 6am to 6 pm.. works for me! =)

  • well whatever works for yah. You may be losing weight, but make sure you are healthy too, take some vitamins or something. Fasting generally isnt healthy for somebody who does it for extended periods of time.

  • I'm speaking from experience on this. Don't starve. Not only is it unhealthy, but the weight loss doesn't last because deprivation leads to overeating, especially if you're like me and love food. Anyway, the way to it is to eat 6 smaller meals a day. And don't cut out any food! Just eat less of what's unhealthy, like eat one slice of pizza instead of 3 and supplement it with other less fattening stuff. But eat every 2-3 hours because it increases your metabolism. And exercise a little.

    Hmmm i used to weight 97kg about 3 months ago. Now im 88 :). The year before last year i was 112 and alittle chubby.

    All i did was walk to course, walk to work, walk to the park and town and alittle martial arts :D.

    Gets the blood pumping :).

I've tried the 5 small meal a day thing, and it's too slow for me. I'm not a world class marathoner which this diet is more suited for.   • I eat when my stomach is empty... not necessarily straight away, sometimes I drink some water if I am busy, but will soon get a craving and have to eat... because my body tells me to.

    I am 5'10" and 168-170 Kg, I have been this way since I was 19.

    That's 20 years of not really thinking about what I eat!

    It's what you make available that really counts, make sure there is a LITTLE of everything in your fridge.

  • Exercise is a good one! And healthy food!!! That does it for me... I have at least two espresso a day can't do it without caffeine... but that's ok as long you balance everything out.   • U know in the longrun. Starving yourself will make y gain more weight. When u don't eat ur body goes into staration mode. and any food it does get. It stores.

    If u eat like six small meals a day and actually work out. You will have no prob losing or maintaining your weight. And you will be healtthy! Not starving yourself. That does nothing good!

  • I've always been "big boned" (thank you mom). What really got me motivated is not having the mindset of "I want to be skinny" but more so... "I want to be healthy" Thinking about myself being fit and being able hike and to enjoy life was the biggest motivation!! You HAVE to eat when you're hungry otherwise you'll end up binge-eating. But after finding motivation, I started walking and joined a co-ed softball team and since then I've been slowing incorporating more healthy things into my life.

  • Ive lost over 20 pounds I got 33 more punds to go i go to the gym after work for 2 hours and eat properly, I cut back on rice maybe once a week or so cos im asian that was fu cken hard... I havent cut any of my fav foods either but drink lots and lots of water i have the 32oz water bottle i drink 3 of them in a day or more lol, and green tea is good for your motabolism:)P

  • Like you said everyone is different and not all workout systems work for everyone. Honestly at least start out doing at least 3 days a week of cardio and do a light weight workout for a beginner and gradually make your work out more challenging.   • My secret of keeping my weight about the same weight in a healthy way I ate low fat food and I excerised at least 3 to 4 times a week. I do weight workout 2 days a week and do cardio 2 days a week on the same week. Sometimes I do weights 3 days and do a light cardio after I do my weight work out. I switch around each week. I also sometimes dance for my cardio. ^^ It helps to have a fun active activity that you like to do I also like to play dance dance revoultion for my cardio. ^^

  • Awsome video! I remember when I was 13 I was 5 feet and 8 inchs and I was 130 lbs. I starved myself to lose a little bit my weight but it got out of control. I weighed 108 lbs. It took about a year and a half to get back to my normal weight and my body was not functioning right until I was 17 years old. It was very hard Physically especially Mentally. Now Iam 5 feet and 11 inchs and 142 lbs.

  • You were right, I wouldn't have guessed you were Muslim but I hadn't thought about it. I'll try to explain what I consider successful habits: 5 keys = portion control, high-value food, 3 meals a day, exercise, not using food as a reward. My philosophy (when I choose to follow it) when getting started is to not change eating habits apart from cutting back a bit on junkfood. Regular exercise including at least 45 min of cardio 3x a week and some light weight lifting for better muscle tone...cont

  • cont...after about a month of that you find that your cravings for junkfood have diminished to the extent you probably won't want much, and you're feeling pretty awesome. I never cut junk food out entirely and I never use it as a reward for any successes. It's important to eat high-nutrition foods (veggies, beans/lentils, small amounts of meat/fish) 3 times a day to ensure your body doesn't think it's starving. Drink lots of water too, so your cells can manage/lose fats better...cont

  • cont...all this will leave you feeling good and your base metabolism will raise so you're burning more calories 24/7. That's the key. Working out in a gym or outdoors and lifting weights is solely for the purpose of increasing how many calories your muscles require to exist, and overall increasing your base metabolism so you will burn more calories just sitting still or sleeping. Eating fairly healthy in moderate portions and drinking lots of water keeps you feeling active and content.
