  • I am a wine sales rep and this is complete bullshit, you cant learn anything until you actually get out into the field, If retailers actually were anything like the girl behind the counter, all reps would be millionaires. By the way wine isn't sold by the crate its sold by the case

  • @dmoore563 This was a college assignment while I was student. I didn't present this as "how to sell wine", just "how to sell" as maxelwine pointed out, "straight from textbook". There is a step by step process I was taught, I could have been selling anything. The girl behind the counter does work for a real wine retailer though, and this is how things are done at her wine store. Yes she has to turn down a lot of reps, but for the good ones it is that easy once the relationship has been built.

  • Right sales techniques has been used (straight from textbook), follow up previous sales, offering new product, tasting, promo, selling and take a order, But to many "goodies" been gave away in one time (discount, free storage, tickets and left the bottle behind.... I wonder what he will do to close next sales) and I recon sales gay is to snobby, bossy, to dry, not enthusiastic, not even smile or aye contacts, if he come to the local shop/bar with that attitude he would not close the deal.
