  • I'm from Singapore and in my opinion, they don't look like singaporeans

  • rapists... your all rapists..

  • @madnesscombat5 hahahahhahaa their chance to speak out loud XD

  • yes because in singapore, only chinese girls (or racially ambiguous, perhaps malay girls 0.10) are beautiful. lets just ignore the 10% indian population why dont we. they dont have self esteem issues AT ALL..

  • @brakaness what's your problem

  • 0:41 is sooo BEAUTIFUL :)

    They all are.

These are such great, positive commercials :)

  • How can I get the Singapore Version? I need it for presentation for the advertisement effect on the kids. Also the CSR by companies.

  • Singapore

  • what is this? they are all so pretty!!!!!!

like really, they are really beautiful

  • i lyk the girl who sings it! its so pure~

  • Greenpeace is saving trees lives.

    DOVE is saving girls lives

    : )

You are beautiful......as a rainbow girl.

Beauty does not come in a bottle

  • wow i always thought i was ugly fat and too chubby cheeks but now i wanna feel good about myself i just feel like saying whoever invented this dove i think u go girl or guy or whatever

    -Rachel

  • (:

the girl in the swim suit is my cousin

    friend

  • there not all chinese i think

  • they're all asian, doesn't mean they are all chinese

  • They're not all Chinese.

  • i love you sharon :)

  • THAT'S MY BESTFRIEND

the one in the marry go round! :)

    i love you sharon!

  • LOL. melody =]

  • wow.... thanks for bringing up the double eyelids thing! I never even thought about it; now I do. Its an eye opener to think that every culture has there own things to worry about, even though other ones think they have it easier.

  • wow i can watch this over and over again and i love it

  • they are beautiful

  • I hate my curly hair too. I'm the only asian I've ever seen (in person at least) with real, natural curly hair, and I feel like a freak sometimes.

This commercial was pretty comforting though. :)

  • Me too!

  • me too i also had curly hair. i rebonded my hair when i was in sec 1, but after 2 years, i decided to keep my curly hair after it grows out

  • I like this ad

I try to think, "I'm a pretty that people deserves to be" but I think no help. I really ashamed to go outside cause I'm ugly, most of people say I'm ugly, and most people ignore me cause of my face. Even my friends says I'm pretty. I don't think they say the truth. ugh

  • what is this fund? how does it help women feel better about the way they feel about themselves? <3!

  • if we didn't have photoshop, no millions of beauty magazines, no tons of brands of cosmetics, and more realistic advertisements...

real beauty comes truly only from one's behaviours and the mind- a true sentence that's scoffed at by many people

i like these ads but don't see them on tv often

  • great

  • i think they are all beautiful

  • I Feel The Same Way

    (Although I Have Double Eyelids).

People Shouldn't Feel This Way ...

I Still Do - But What The Hey!! Let's Help These Girls.

  • that girl with the curly hair is beautiful. i like her hair.

  • yea i agree wif you

  • Me too. :)

  • every girl is beautiful :) x

  • @vopat They all are beautiful ;)

  • "wishes she had double eyelids" first time Ive heard of that. thats totally knocked out the tone of this for me LOL

  • I think it's specific to the Chinese demographic, which is why this ad had two versions (one for airing in European countries, another in Chinese-populated countries). Some Chinese do not have a crease in their eyelids, and because of the distorted view of Beauty that the media feeds the world, most of them wish they did. Some pastes uncomfortable eyelids stickers to deepen the crease, while some go for plastic surgery to carve creases on their eyelids.

  • I whole heartedly agree with you. Thumbs up for you :)

  • what's double eyelids?

  • It's the crease of the eyelid some people have when their eyes are fully open. Some Asian people don't have this crease. Some even get surgury for it. I wish people could just be happy with themselves :(.

  • Omg i started crying

  • OMG THAT MADE ME CRY

    soo true tho

  • ffs this is the singapore advert and there are only chinese girls in it!!??? what is up with that im a singaporian and im white its a mulit cultural country! ffs! im singaporien than them!

  • the curly hair girl is CHINESE? The swimmer is Chinese?

Honestly I've been to Singapore for 2 years and have only seen 1 Euro-asian. Malay Chinese and Indians are the most common.

I lived in Bishan where many tops school located.

  • omg... i get so emotional when i saw that... it makes me almost cry...

  • This makes me cry

  • mi tu

  • me three

  • :)))))))))))))))))

  • OMG I cry seeing this..

  • omfg. i look so retarded. :X

  • ? lol

  • Please, tell me: why do you regard the American version better? Because you got used to it, or because it is full of... American girls? Let me tell you, I liked this version better, as it is not the one I usually watch.

  • The aussie one is pretty good too

  • how so?

  • ,try to think, they show frowning kids with captions as to why their sad, & over stupid worthless reasons, they need to get out & exercise, stop staring at themselves in the mirror all the time.

  • sorry, but yeah girls are actually feeling this way and some of them dont even need to go out and exercise cause they look fine the way they are. and i do have to agree with some people, the amercian version is better

  • Does anyone know who sings this version of the song? I love it!

  • Cyndi Lauper - True Colors (true colors[1986] the body acoustic[2005])

  • Didn't it occur to you that was, precisely, the point? Being about raising kid's self-esteem and all...

  • Yup, they want to look scandinavian like all worldy women. And the boys want to be intelligent. But some (like you) fail miserably at it. Shut your yap and stop embarassing the rest of men with functioning brains, dumbass.

  • racist bitch

  • If you're going to insult a race at least come up with something better than that.

  • This is ridiculous. The girl that's afraid she's fat is thinner than most people in America. Even people fatter than her don't think their fat. Is this how all teen girls think of their bodies? Or is it just that places like Singapore have a distorted vision of what is thin?

  • I used to live in Singapore and I saw that ad..hehe.. I mean they could make one for guys, but like some of you said the girls are pushed muchhhh harder about being "beautiful". and Dove is more of a girl company.

  • What is a double eyelid?

The girls in this vid are gourgeous. All women should feel they are beauuuutiiiiffulll no matter what.

  • They eyes are kind of like non-Asian eyes. Like, Caucasian eyes for example. Many of the stars in East Asian countries have "Western" eyelids (double eyelids), so some girls and women wish they had double eyelids or actually undergo surgery to get them. Sometimes even family members pressure people to get surgery to obtain double eyelids.

  • When I lived in Korea, there were a lot of girls who wanted to get that surgery because they wanted to have eye like mine. I worked hard to talk them out of it. Why let someone near your eyes with a knife for such a non-lifethreatening reason?!

  • To TheGodMar: Don't forget there's always the double eyelid tape that some people use. Also, companies pressure stars in Eastern Asia not only for double eyelids but also a more "Western" nose.

  • I have a friend from Korea who has had eye surgery to have a double eyelid, and she wants breast implants and a higher nose (like caucasians).

We (her friends) don't get it, and she was actually cuter before surgery... <3

  • Beauty is dictated by the magazines and celebrities. With all the people you see on TV and in magazines it's hard to be different so when all these people hear about how Westerners are so beautiful with their double eyelids what are they supposed to do?

Many people are cuter before the surgery, some get the surgery and there isn't much of a difference, but what are we as friends supposed to do but support them? Sure you can talk them out of it, but they'll still be unhappy with their looks.

  • What are you talking about? Asians like white people because of their features but for the most part think they're stupid. The reason why they want to get with White people is so their children have the qualities that they like in White people with an Asian's brains and whatever else. I'm not sure what Asian told you that they die for affection. Most Asians will stick to their own race, if you look around you would come to the same conclusion. There are more Asian couples than mixed.

  • holy... tht's me at 18 and 36.. 0.0

  • thats you???

  • all these little girls are beautiful.

  • Yay! I'm glad they addressed the double eyelids issue. I have single eyelids, lol.

  • Am I the only one who wants to go out and buy Dove products now? o.0

lmao they made that sef esteem fund for a reason eh? xD

  • I know this song is originally by ciny, but whats the name of THIS one?

Its so cute, where can I find the whole thing?

  • you mean im not white enough oh f*ck! i better get some dove...

  • exelente

  • the girl with curly hair is so cute!!!

  • ...wishes she had 'double eyelids??' o_O

  • yea as you can see she kinda only has one in a way

if you get what i mean they don't overlap in a way haha

  • double eyelids are admired in the asian culture. It is because of American influence.

  • why american culture?

  • I think ALL this girls r stunning!

  • @PrincessMe1993 White Americans have double eyelids.

  • no, I think there are ones for men, but this ad is because everywhere there are the skinny female models and it makes us girlies feel like utter shit, but i think there should be a thing for mens rights as well

  • i love deas ads bt neva seen dem on da TV but wot song an whos it by i love this version

  • I'm sorry, but I think most of you are so incredibly missing the point! Everyone has things they are insecure about, and for some people that stands in the way of feeling good about themselves. But each and everyone out there is beautiful in one way or another. If everyone looked like the people in the magazines or like a 'normal' person (whatever that may be), it would be so BORING out there! I thing what Dove is doing is so important.

  • LOL The Singing On This Version.

  • how cute they are!

  • the double eyelid thing kinda pisses me off. it's offensive, asian girls are beautiful and they shouldn't get made fun of for that.

  • people shouldnt get made fun of for anything. its stupid

  • sha thinks shes fat well then i think im SKINNY id love to be where shes at because every one think ims a fat pig and just eat hamburgers all day and titch u dont know ZIP how it feels to be FAT it sucks i hate it i hate myself for it its my falt but its actually to hard to lose weight and im on a diet eat nothin cept fruit veggies turkey and peanuts and that camzon thing is PORN

  • also, in magazines, they not only show the really skinny women, they also point out celebs that are not anarexic, and say they are fat, which makes you think omg if that is fat, im OBESE

  • well, it believe that double eyelids look more beautiful. my mum was being bullied for having small eye and my friends always laugh about my single eyelids. so that i why i think this ad is really important!

  • i dont understand the double eyelid thing?

  • Some asians have only one eye lid you can look that up on google.

there are lots of variations on asian eyes and well.. as you can see in the video also some people have just one eyelid and it makes them feel bad about theirselves. i'm not asian myself so i can't really explain well.

  • asians have the same eyelids as any human--one above one below--

    it's the crease.

the upper lid crease the video is talking about.

eyelid surgery is growing in popularity amongst asian folks.

i'm japanese- english and i frequently get the comment "you have eyelids"

  • ah yeah that was the thing.

i remember reading about it somewhere but i couldn't really remember well what it was about n_n;;.

  • what about males?!?! even males deserve to feel better about themselves, just like females

  • dove makes products for women only i htink, so thats probly why, the company who makes male products should do a fund like that, and i think way more women are more self consious then men, so yeh thtas probly it

  • Well, it's a cynical marketing ploy whatever way you look at it. For one thing, all these girls look fairly well nourished, and like they can afford to buy some Dove products. What is the Dove self esteem fund gonna do for the hungry kid who goes to school with holes in her sneakers? She ain't buying their products.

  • possibly, but then they have their larger paychecks, better lives and less chance of being raped and beaten to keep them warm at night ;)

  • I agree. However, I can understand them focusing on women and girls currently because there is more pressure for women to look beautiful in society (Pick up a typical women's or girl's magazine and you'll see what I mean). Women and girls are also on top when it comes to eating disorders and self-esteem. I do feel that they should do commercials for guys too. I think because it's more of a crisis in the female population and that's why they are currently focusing on them.

  • what's so funny about the "double eyelids" ?

  • i wanna make my own dove commercial haha with my friends.

  • this one's nice.

  • hey, there are a lot of asians who wish they have double eyelids. to us, it matters a lot, and also, it doesnt help that there are suckers who insult us and make fun of our eyes.

  • No it does not.

BECAUSE I'M ASIAN TOO. And I don't give a fuck about my small eyes.

  • why is that so funny? i see nothing funny about that. retarded.

  • Love this one, but I like the other one because of the freckles bit, which is my biggest problem.. :-(

Hate freckles.. make me look like I have a mustache.

  • lollllll

  • Not funny!

  • lol, I'm asian too, so I can think it's funny. xD

  • Not to the asian thing, god. I could care less about that. My mail said you responded to the freckle thing, which I said was not funny. K? Good then. Don't respond plz.

    ( double eylids lol )

  • What the hell? It was your mistake.

  • i thnk the last girl is really pretty.

  • me too

  • geogeo sees true colors shinning through

  • i watch this video everyday on the LRT(every train has a screen which nobody watches) and i still like this ad. i think this is really meaningful

  • i see this video everyday on the LRT(every train has a screen which nobody watches) and i still like this video. i think this is really meanigful

  • i really like this version. this just sounds so innocent, so pure!

  • i love soooooooooo much this song

  • Yea.... Guys are also often pressurized =.=

C'mon Dove.. Make a self-esteem video for guys

  • are you crazy speak your self darlin .... lol! ü

  • They might. However, it's more of a crisis within the female population. There is far more pressure on women than men to look "beautiful". I do agree that they should make guy videos. Perhaps you can e-mail the DOVE company and suggest that?

  • GREAT VIDEO.. hope it will really make a difference to all girls out there that each and everyone of us is special..

  • How about guys?

    Guys are pretty pressured too....

  • I agree, I always wonder why this area is completley dominated by women's pressures. (I am female myself, but I feel sorry for the guys who have nothing like this for themselves)

  • I agree with you. But I think it's dominated by women's pressures because it IS more of a women's thing. In our society, women are pressured far more than guys. I am a guy, but I'd have to agree that women are definitely getting hit harder than the guys. But as a guy, I do feel that they should make videos for men and boys.

  • I was really moved by this video. Awesome and fitting song. Was always a big supporter of the self esteem movement; Girls, learn to love your inner beauty more, there are many guys who look beyond skin-deep beauty! =)

  • Girls are at a higher pressure when it comes to these kinds of body problems. There are a lot of magazines That shows ladies negative images.Go to the store ans see how many magazines are for women and see how many negative images are potray! It is never easy to be a lady! TRUST ME!!!

  • i just love this cf!

  • i like this version much better

  • so, i have to understand that, the boys dont need to feel good about themselves? c´mon people!!

  • Girls are at a higher pressure when it comes to these kinds of body problems. There are a lot of magazines That shows ladies negative images.Go to the store ans see how many magazines are for women and see how many negative images are potray! It is never easy to be a lady! TRUST ME!!!
