This country needs to be handled the same way I handle my programming, imho. It takes 3 stages, inclusion, refinement, and expansion. Inclusion: we include everyone and everyone is included equally as a part of this country. Refinement: we need to keep fixing the problems of our country to strive to be the best that we can be. Expansion: we need to continuously add innovation and other great things as we have done so in the past (expand our faith/hope/charity). These are just some examples.

I immigrated to this country for its freedoms and I hate, hate, to see it succumb to socialism. People don't know what they are going to get if the Health Care in this country is socialized. Glenn Beck is the best thing to happen to our country. The socialists and progressives are trying to take away our freedoms, little by little, step by step. First the socialist health care forced down our throats, then the obamination of financial reform that fixes nothing, it just gives more power to those who should not have it. Glenn Beck is a dangerous, DIVISIVE person. A bunch of ignorant sheep who are afraid of change, who want to "restore" America (aka: bring it back to the 50s) are going to bring our country back from "destruction"? That's what Mr. Beck said. - We said the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools and included the words, "One Nation, Under GOD...".

- The Army was desegregated by Eisenhower.

- There were positive male role models on TV.

- Black on black crime was down and minority education was up.

You'll notice that the monument has a different color as it rises. Construction had to stop because of conflict, but it was finished. Persistence & Resistance; to everything that would destroy the ideology our our founders. Build it and they will come. Build a nation worth defending and they will come. They will defend it - with Persistence, Resistance, Restoration.
