I'm in an excruciating pain for several weeks now and the doctor gave me prescription strength Ibuprofen, which does not relieve any pain, just feels like a nose will bleed from taking it and a heart pain as well. Got the flu symptoms after taking it! Doc says they got no license for narcotic drugs. I just need to relieve my pain twice a week so i can get a good nights sleep! This is torture and is illegal in most other countries! I'm about to move to a normal, more humane country than USA is!
Abused? I used 20 caplets in 2 years, about 1 a month when really needed to sleep, is that an abuse? And then the stupid doctors would not give me another 3-5 caplets to treat my severe pain while they are making research what is going on with my bones. I call that TORTURE and should be made illegal!

@success714 Sometimes you do need pain meds, like when I mashed my toe. But drs who don't prescribe pain pills are actually doing you a favor. My dr who did my major back surgery prescribed me vicoden for the time needed but not after that. Now I understand why, he was looking after my best interest..

Narcotic pain relievers will always be controversal no matter how much they try to justify the use, but the reason why they're still around is because there are a majority of people who do benefit from the use of this drug to control their pain, because medicine doesn't effect everyone the same way, some people can control themselves with narcotics and other can't. The one's that can't are the one's you don't want getting the pills, that is and should be the distinction between its use.
I guess he does not have cancer or a broken bone or back injury or missing limb or any kind of nerve pain .If they would make pot legal for med use people would at least have a non addictive alternative that might work for some.
As long as it's legal to buy and use cigarettes, OTC, despite their known hazards (and I think it should be), then there is no reason in the world to vilify and restrict medication use of any kind.
I've thought about this a lot, and I keep coming to the same conclusion. If you don't have the freedom to be an addict, then you're not really free. For philosophical reasons, I think ALL meds should be legal and available without Rx. Same with recreational drugs, including evil shit like meth. I agree with him about the pain clinics. If you need narcotic pain relievers, your doctor can prescribe it. People around here get there pain medicine and sell it. For example, you go to a pain clinic, and get 90 OxyContin and pay $200 for it. Say you sell 60 of them for $15 per pill, you are making a $700 profit.
My brother died March 13th from a hydrocodone addiction. He was using up to 30 or more a day because he developed a tolerance to it. I know of 3 other people who died the same way. The Tylenol in Hydrocodone Apap is very dangerous. Liver Failure and cardiac arrest possible. If my brother would have known the outcome he would have sought help. He thought it wouldn't happen to him. People have free will that's true, but if you're addicted and buying drugs off the street is it free will?

No narcotic works long-term for pain relief. The body constantly adjusts and becomes tolerant. This is what leads to abuse. Everybody chases the Very First "high" they got that wonderful first time they took it! And sadly , it can never be reproduced unless taking more and more each time. JMHO. It IS actually schedule 2. It's just that when there's a certain amount of acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin mixed in, the pill is schedule 3. And hydrocodone by itself is not currently manufactured in the United States. However, a doctor CAN prescribe pure hydrocodone; the prescription would be filled at a compounding pharamcy.

When I needed them, I couldn't cope with the severe pain I had, now I am at that point again. When I am ready to give up, there is another option. Everybody is different. Some people can take Vicodin several times a day for months and then just stop with no problem. Other people take 2 or 3 a day for a couple of weeks and literally can NOT stop. Human body chemistry varies so much from person to person.

Customers complain why their insurance doesn't cover this when they had this drug filled two days ago in another pharmacy... People under the addiction that are taking 10-15 pills a day. Hydrocodone is class III IF it is combined with APAP (tylenol), and class II IF it is pure. (in most states). And yes, Oxycodone is different from hydrocodone. Just to clarify. Peace out.

I've thought about this a lot, and I keep coming to the same conclusion. If you don't have the freedom to be an addict, then you're not really free. For philosophical reasons, I think ALL meds should be legal and available without Rx. Same with recreational drugs, including evil shit like meth. I agree with him about the pain clinics. If you need narcotic pain relievers, your doctor can prescribe it. People around here get there pain medicine and sell it. For example, you go to a pain clinic, and get 90 OxyContin and pay $200 for it. Say you sell 60 of them for $15 per pill, you are making a $700 profit.

My brother died March 13th from a hydrocodone addiction. He was using up to 30 or more a day because he developed a tolerance to it. I know of 3 other people who died the same way. The Tylenol in Hydrocodone Apap is very dangerous. Liver Failure and cardiac arrest possible. If my brother would have known the outcome he would have sought help. He thought it wouldn't happen to him. People have free will that's true, but if you're addicted and buying drugs off the street is it free will?

It IS actually schedule 2. It's just that when there's a certain amount of acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin mixed in, the pill is schedule 3. And hydrocodone by itself is not currently manufactured in the United States. However, a doctor CAN prescribe pure hydrocodone; the prescription would be filled at a compounding pharamcy.

When I needed them, I couldn't cope with the severe pain I had, now I am at that point again. When I am ready to give up, there is another option. Everybody is different. Some people can take Vicodin several times a day for months and then just stop with no problem. Other people take 2 or 3 a day for a couple of weeks and literally can NOT stop. Human body chemistry varies so much from person to person.
