Hey, just wondering, did you use an NTSC or a PAL version of "An American Tail" for this? It's important if somebody wants to do this with better audio, because film runs at 24 frames per second but video doesn't.
For NTSC, they do perform a complex process called pull-up, but it basically says the speed stays the same, roughly 24fps. With PAL, they do what's called a PAL speed-up, they speed the movie up from 24 to 25fps! It doesn't sound like much but it matters a lot when synching audio.
Eraserhead and The Wall! Dude thats psychotic! Eraserhead is one of the most fucked up movies of all time!
What would be the most fucked up pairing ever do you think? How about......William Shatners "The Transformed Man" with.....1,000,000 years BC? or how about The Dear Hunter and Peter, Paul and Mary's Greatest Hits! HA!
there are some parts that REALLY sync up, like the cats colliding together in the snow, or when it pans to the house. and the clocks ringing right @ the shot of the burning town. what a creative idea :)
What really sends chills for me in this and in the Dark Side of the Rainbow, is how the credits really seem to go with the music. It sets the mood for the whole thing and also gives me the creeps in a good way!!
I agree, I don't get it either, I watched the whole thing and saw no similarity with the music to the movie clip. I don't mean to insult or critisize the maker, I just don't understand.
No man, it's cool. I agree 100 percent, the sound is really crappy. I guess I should have used a better program to mix the audio and video together. But thanks for watching anyway.
The synths timing with the boathorn is just a really remarkable coincidence! ... and the small "farewell orcestra" started playing exactly when the drumming rythm starts!
Somehow the crappy sound quality adds to it.

i dont think this movie was made when dark side of the moon came out?
dark side of the moon release date: March 17, 1973
american tale release date: November 21, 1986
maybe spielburg made the movie to the soundtrack...but most likely not...coincidence...but still an entertaining one at that.
ColtonBrook 3 years ago
um..... yeah...... no. I have no idea why you even entertained that thought. Of COURSE its a fucking coincidence.

Not to be mean but damn you need to redo the audio something bad, it's so staticy and crackly sounding, other than that it's really cool though

The music to this, the music only soundtrack with no dialogue, it's very annoying.

Wait. Wasn't this movie made after DSotM came out? So then Bluth was a Floyd fan?

They say that if you play the CD with the wizard of oz you get the same effect.

I hear it synchs up with other films. Rolling Stone did an article about it. I'll try to dig it up or get a link or something.

BTW, if you want to replicate the effect, start the album when the Universal logo pops up, not at the WARNING sign.
