What happened to your first vid, on the L100 with the black/white keys? Think it was the one were you said you was "messing around in the basement on the organ"..
I love the sound of a Hammond in a hard-surfaced masonry building like this. The Lesiie splashes sound all around the room and it bounces off the hard walls making the sweetest effect.
Probably part of the reason I like it too is that it reminds me of hanging out and listening to bands play downtown in small clubs and bars and in basements and other "acoustically imperfect" locations. I can taste the beer now!
Pretty wicked sound. I'm wondering what model of Leslie you're using? I have a 125 that I just aquired from a family member ( I only have the cabinet and rotor as my uncle needs to dig out the speaker and amp) I`m wondering how it will sound as it doesn`t have a treble rotor. Or is there a way to add a treble rotor to the 125
125 is what I was using. Personally, I like the single driver configuration. You can get some grungy distortion from the amp that the other leslie's don't quite have.
The older Hammond organs sound the best and you and your sister sound great. Seeing this video reminds me of how foolishly I passed up a Hammond A 102 in beautiful cond. It did not play, and now I know it was the tonewheel. When you pressed the start button it just buzzed. I also did not know the A-102 was a B-103 in a fancy cabinet with its own speakers. The estate sale did not know it's value as it was priced at only 75.00. Now I know, but a little too late.
I can relate to that urge to play. When I was away in the military years ago, I'd sneak into the base chapel after midnight and jam on the Hammond there for a few hours. BTW, pretty nice session going on there.
Organgrinder010, you're too much!!! You OBVIOUSLY have multiple personalities that reveal themselves through your music (smile). I mean we go from classic movie theme songs on the Wurlitzer to FUNKY tirades on a Hammond and Leslie. Just too much. That spinet and Leslie sound like a full console and Leslie. Good SHOW!!!!
Thanks! I was starting to get withdrawals, lol. I picked this spinet up with leslie from a newspaper ad for a steal. I'm sure you wouldn't have too much trouble finding one too. I think the leslie is worth more the the organ itself, though. XD
...oh and I must add Totally Mezmorizing!

I wish I had long fingers like yours; playing big chords and big intervals with my little stubby fingers can be so tough!
