so correct me if I am wrong but this song could be a little hard for her to sing as it might remind her why she wrote it and to sing this song requires digging deep. I simply adore Bonnie and respect any emotion that surfaces but she is a true profesional and due to this songs commercial success she sings it for her fans. @cchill100 Hi, for the record, Bonnie didn't write this song. M. Reid & A. Shamblin. She did not write many songs that she sings and plays. Her ability to put herself in that place and sing with such depth and feeling is such a gift that it makes you Believe that she wrote it! Maybe she is thinking of someone.I sing (& play) other people's songs and that is how I feel- living the song while singing it! It's hard to get through this song without tearing up but I'm not really thinking of anyone.

An absolute goddess! A voice of an Angel from Heaven. God Bless Bonnie Raitt. Nothing compares her. I use to live in DC when she could be seen at the Cellar Door and Desperados and the Bayou. She was a DC talent like Little Feat. Both had a huge fan base amongst the very hip in the mid-70s in Georgetown and some of the finer areas of the District. Theres nothing good about it now!

It's a real shame that people were talking throughout her performance (and that the microphone used to record this wasn't more directional). When I tried to listen to this with headphones on, the lyrics "turn down these voices inside my head" took on a whole new meaning (especially on left side) ... and not in a good way. Yikes!
