Этот фигурист достоин уважения настоящих поклонников мужского катания.Его первым начали засуживать в пользу американцев,но он в одиночку боролся за МУЖСКОЕ катание!!!
i completely agree with what anjaliss said a month ago...this was brian's undoing at the olympics. i feel terrible for him, b/c he is capable of delivering the entire package, tech&prgrm components. i would say more, but i dont want my head lopped off for it!
Way too many unnecessary arm movements...his arms are flailing everywhere. I predict that Joubert and Plushenko will not be a contender for a medal at Olympics. It will be the men from North America or from the East that will win the medals.
He makes little boxes and shapes with his arms and that is supposed to be artistic? Al he thinks about is quads...look at him right before he starts...Jeremy Abbott from the U.S. is competitive against all of them as well as Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir...Plushenko just rattles off the jumps and pumps his fist at the end of his program like he's Rocky Balboa...great athlete don;t get me wrong but c'mon skate a little more..gesture less!
hey YanosAudrin, it feels really nice to be proven right.
Joubert in 18th place with average PCS.
His lame short program looked embarassing compared with the exquisite offerings from the likes of Lambiel and Takahasi. Even not counting the lack of jumps, it was pedestrian by comparison.
ps: did you take a look of art on ice 2005?there is a tribute to MJ made by Lambiel... just a little taste... then tell me if he's imitating someone...have fun!!
He should stop imitating Alexei Yagudin. Alexei's skating was just amazing and if Brian uses his moves and his music he will never be more than a poor copy. Just watch Alexei's "Overcome" at the exhibition gala in 2002.
I agree! But then, Yagudin, was coaching him for some time.... I think if Joubert came back to Yagudin and Tarasova, he'd b the best!!!! N Tarasova'd choreograph him new programms, usinf his own style!!!
It is so lame of Joubert to copy Yagudin's 2002 exhibition programme music plus a lot of his moves! I'm quite gleeful though that he wasn't able to perform the copied moves well -- serves him right! He should stick to his own style!
I completely agree with you. That's exactly how I felt when I saw this program. Joubert is a very talented skater. He should have been more original. I always have the feeling his imitating Alexei.
He was lucky to hold on to 3rd place. This programme was boring and the step sequences were about level 2 at best. Contesti should have been 3rd in the free programme. The judges kept Joubert up because of his name.
I love this program but I have to agree that a lot of the movements were Yagudin's, I know he doesnt' own them but as Ardenis9 wrote I also kept thinking very Yagudin... again and again and again. Since Yagudin stoppe I'm totally Team Brian but I wish he would do something original and find his own style
'Overcome' was my favourite Yagudin programme. it's so disconcerting to see someone else using that music... dunno. Joubert really needs to do something new. everyone is tired of his 'Rise' too, already, after 4 years
I`m a huge fan of Brian, but I also think he has to try a new program :) He`s a really good skater and he just need something new and exciting to do...I love all of his programs but it`s kinda boring to see everything repeating. That`s one of the things I like about Plushenko - he`s always original ;)
К сожалению мы не судьи...Согласна с постами насчет того,что Бриану нужно найти свой стиль,он талантливый спорсмен,но не великий. Плющенко все-таки недосягаем по моему мнению.А Ламбьель здесь по праву стал вторым!
I think Brian's problem is in his mental strength....tchnically he has the whole package, but I am afraid he still struggles a bit. Especially now that Plushenko and Lambiel are back and both their programmes seem more convincing! I like all of them, so I am always sad, when one makes mistakes...
for the last time he doesn't copy Yagudin. Maby when he was younger but now he's mature at the sport to put his own remark. And Yagudin never said that Brian copies him. This music just suits his style. It doesn't belong personally to Alexei. This was years ago
Did you watch Alexei's program? You can see the exatc SAME movements. Its not just about the music,he used the same choreography(at some parts). He's found his own style, but he just can't succeed with it which is sad'cause I feel like thats why he didnt hold onto it,instead tried to get back his former"Tat/Yags"style.I didnt like him either 1-2 years ago when hehad his own style. And I think he knew people didnt like that so he got back to his former skating which includes to many Yags in it.
How can he use this music? How? Who told him not to only imitate Yags movements, but use his music too??
I mean its not like Yag's personal music, but Brian always imitated Alexei's movements etc(he was coached by Alexei, I know) and using his olipmics ex music is a bit too much in my opinion. Try to be yourself dear Brian. Otherwise I loved the program even with mistakes!!!
You knew it right. This was only an exhibition but a memorable one:D
I really like Joubert I just dont like when he is trying to be like Alexei...
I totaly loved this program except that I couldt help recognising movement after movement.I was "like this is so Alexei"And this is... and this too...
Thanks. Agree completely. He needs originality. The two russian skaters have put the scale so high that everyone tries to copy them because they were the best. Maybe skaters should try having their own style.
If you dont mind, Stéphane is not trying to imitate anyone and he is able to skate on every kind of music. I would challenge everyone to prove the opposite.
TheHelen1971, I am not trying to offend anyone. And you do not have to be so aggressive. When I said everyone tries to copy the russians, I meant most. I never said anything against Stephane and I actually like him as a skater. He is different compared to the russians. If you do not like what I said, that's your deal.
@ArtemisDianaSelene Oh,,, I am very sorry that I miserandestood you, please forgive me, but you wrote on plural and it could be misleading...anyway I apologize if I gave the impression to be rude...:) in any case, on YT everyone is entitled to post a comment on another comment... so we go:)

I think this program suited him really well.. a powerful skate, even though struggling with the jumps

Joubert's FS music is the same as Yagudin's "overcome" (2002 Salt Lake olympics exhibition). It's beautiful music.

They'd just said, that because of Plushenko Joubert must add the 4 jump - cause of 3 balls between them.
What's wrong?)

The music is really dreary, and the choreography is pedestrian.
He hasn't got a hope in hell of mdealling in Vancouver with this lame vehicle.
