  • I dig it........

  • ☮♫(¯`'♥♫(♥♪(♥♫(♥♪d(☮‿☮)b♪♥)♫♥)♪♥)♫♥'´¯)♫☮.

  • hey hawklord do you know calvert real birth date?

i dont know if it is 9 march 1945 or 9 april 1944...

anyway , i hear the cambridge gig 1972 on youtube

really amazing gig. i dont know why it is so criticised.....

  • Who the fuck could "dislike" this band? Ugh...

  • WHERE CAN I GET THE COMPLETE GIG FROM PLEEEEEEEEEASE?????????

  • 6 people are apparently not born at all...

  • see you at pilton 2011

  • In my long life, I've seen every major rock performer or group several times. (Except Hendrix; I never saw Hendrix.) In my sober judgment, the finest show I ever saw was Hawkwind of about 1972. They had the best sound, the best material ("You Are Under Sonic Attack") and the best display. (Stacia! I'm still saving myself for you!)

Unfortunately, they were never adequately recorded either in audio, much less video.

Alas, the same is true of the Blue Oyster Cult a year later or the MC5 before.

  • stacia's tits are THE best !

  • lsd free greek doping hooligans

  • good, but the sound is bad

  • @MishaMiou -yes, bad sound... I chose it deliberately, so that it would match the bad vid, lol. That bootleg feel, you know... It's Birmingham 6 Dec 1971, if anyone wants to DL the torrent from somewhere.

  • @HawklordPXR5 I'm just going to rip this off you tube if you don't mind. Cz I like the vid as well. I love Hawkwind from this time, most of the recordings I hear are dodgy sound but I don't feel that detracts in any way especially with the live stuff. It just evokes memories of dodgy sound systems of the early 70s and it still retains that live feel and vibe. Excellent upload I haven't heard this before

  • Mushrooms + Hawkwind = Otherworldly experience.

  • correct

  • sweet

  • We were born to FUCK.

  • @svecter You definitely fucked up on the Moon

  • Spankin'

  • Happy Halloween Hawklords.

  • Da kann ich nur sagen Hawkwind ist und bleibt nur eine geniale und Unverwechselbare Musikgruppe, sie wird den POLSPRUNG überstehen, Falkensturm für immer,.........!

  • I saw Orson Welles face in one of those space particles.

    Seriously!

  • HUH,I was at this gig. Kinetic Circus not "playground". The old Mayfair Ballroom next to New Street Station in Brum.....Who says drugs of a recreational kind are bad for you ? I'm still bloody well here lol

  • and y was......4 year

  • this was my favourite Hawkwind track when i was a fan...cosmic!

  • Calvert = Genius.

  • True. pete bardens too

  • went to see the above band at denby dale picture house a couple of years back, what can i say tremendious, imaginative, cosmic energy rock, and no i don't partake in the use of drugs!

  • To - JennaP46: All music comes from various noises that result from vibrations of varying speed.... One person's music is another person's noise, and vice-versa; the same applies to definitions/types of music: it's all relative.

In their various manifestations, musical genres such as: blues, jazz, rock, pop, soul, rap/hip-hop - all - have been labeled as 'tasteless' , 'noise', and, 'not real music', by pretentious snobs just like you; many of whom also hung out with 'real' 'musicians'...!

  • P.S. - JennaP46: I meant to include close-minded in my previous reply, but, didn't have enough characters remaining to do so.

  • You were obviously on the wrong drugs.

  • It's scary; she reminds me (too much) of my ex-wife! (In hindsight, right at the start, probably should've had her listen to some Hawkwind; gauged her reaction; then, immediately split up - before the BIG mistake!)

  • Based upon JennaP46's reaction, I'd prescribe a Roher 714 (300mg) Quaalude (real, not bootleg); maybe with a little alcohol - for maximum effectiveness - she needs to be sedated!

  • no musical vibration.......huh? everyone's entitled to an opinion even if it's wrong i guess x

  • they say when he comes again it will be as a thief in the night where can i get some acid?

  • cool x

  • If I am not mistaken...but, the concept of this WONDERFL work of art is about travelling to another galaxy.... and the experiences of these participants while making this "trip"

    Am I correct?

    THAT is sooooo cool!!!

  • JUST FUZZ are appearing with Hawkwind at the Wye Festival 7 June Hereford - a festival NOT to miss!

  • i went to school with bob, he was one of the maddest people you could ever know in your life.one minute he was up high as a kite next second he was as low as hell it"s self.

  • Classic tragic hero. Almost faustian... the price for that level of genius is one that most of use never have to pay, thankfully.

  • Just what the doctor ordered.

(They were 'kin magik still when I saw 'em at Hitchin about 8 years ago).

  • awesome

  • Field Marshal Slug ??

  • A trip though the universe in your mind and back in 7.12mins

  • cosmic beauty

  • When are one of you Brits going to post an 'Urban Guerilla' video by these guys?

  • @Finzrule .I don't know where you're from but Urban Guerilla was banned in the UK shortly after it was released as a single, and (if I remember rightly) it coinceded with the Birmingham pub bombings in the early 70's.I daresay there's gig footage somewhere, but probably not a dedicated video.

  • Thanks for the video post - I saw Hawkwind in Birmingham, Christmas 1976 I think it was, superb and well worth the bollocking from school for skipping an afternoon! (kiddies don't skip school Uncle Peakey is a bad boy)

  • hurry up

  • Mesmerising. Reminds me of other trippy space jams like "Interstellar Overdrive" by Pink Floyd.

    Hawkwind rule!

  • That performance took place two days after the day I was born. I just noticed that for the first time. Crazy.

  • Special Child

  • wat een kanker geluid...

  • awesome clip!!!!!!!!

  • Hawkwind rulez. Nothing better!

  • You sed it brother

  • I am a Hawkwind collector (in fact i have their rarest LP that is impossible to have, if you know what i mean, hurry 7inch, sonic 7inch with cloth bag). If you want to trade write an email here and we'll deal. Serious offers only. The video here is nicely made but i need more than that.

  • i don't know why so much hate, but i bet your mother will appreciate what you suggest.

  • The Hawkwind video of "Brainstorm" from the Space Ritual tour, where they were inside and the focus a few times is on Stacia as she stands still with a beautiful look of detached trippiness... It was taken off of Youtube for some kind of violation. Does anybody know if there is a DVD I can get it on? I fucking love Hawkwind. Thanks.

  • I really dont think that Hawkwind and Pink Floyd have much common, I love both bands but Hawkwind has allways been a heavy band. Pink Floyd is more of a chill band but there first 4 albums do have some heavy parts. And Hawkwinds best album is In Search of Space!

  • try the first album "Hawkwind" where they have lots in common.

  • Pink Floyd was a million times better. But Hawkwind had its moments. Their first album is the best of their albums.

  • No way man,Hall of the Mountain Grill is the best

  • Methinks you may not have partaken enough---Mix the Hawks with The Stooges and the MC5--Pink Floyd is closer to the Dead (i.e. a Conestoga Wagon, one gets there----eventually) than they'll ever be to a rocket ship, exploding in yer brain. Always worth the trip. My perspective--No offense intended.

  • a lot of bands get this space rock psicodelic sound

    even radiohead in someway.HAWKWIND!!!!

  • Cosmic!

  • Saw them play this at the hawkfest in june.Excellent!!!

  • i thought i'd try making a Hawkwind video

  • The best ever, for sure!

  • johnarthurknight...'Born To Go' was most definitely written by Brock & Calvert, i.e Hawkwind.

  • the best band EVER dont give a flyin fuk wot anyfucker says fukkin luv em.,mushie brew anyone?? hehe ;)

  • got about 37cds now... still searching other ones ,-)

  • Brings it all back, can almost smell the grass, remember the pints, camping and the friends I was with at the last festival where this song was one of many fantastic Hawkwind tracks in a near-infinite weekend :) Thanks for sharing

  • they make this in daves bedroom?

  • i grew up on these fuckers

    12 years old i was

    so so so underated

but also bitches to each other :)

  • Born to Go wasn't written by Hawkwind.Does anybody know who did the original version of the song?

  • It is original. Nobody else on this earth could come up with this song.

  • I saw Hawkwind at Club Lingerie in Hollywood in 1990, during one of their rare U.S. tours.

  • I also would like a copy! This is excellent! I have some great CD's & DVD's to trade. Lots of psych & prog etc!

  • Its good. I want a copy of this show now!

You up for a trade mi good man?

  • Yeah I like swapping old HW cd's... I only recently got that 1971 gig cd, sent to me by someone else I do swapsies with! Message me and we can get it sorted :-)
